Alex slid off the place he had been sitting and resting. "Sid would never do that. I sincerely doubt he thinks of any of his pokemon as replaceable. I sincerely doubt either of you do as well." He paused "Even with all their faults your pokemon are your friends. We don't have the right to pick one over the other. If you accept their faults they will accept ours." He smiled down at Horus who was bleeting and lowered his voice as if talking to the Electric sheep. "Isn't that right, Horus?"

Lily raised her thin, blonde eyebrows as Darrel questioned her. She thought she had made herself clear the first time regarding her opinions of Pokemon. Regardless, she attempted to explain. "Of course he could. Yes, it would be rather sad, but not heartwrenching if the Pokemon didn't make it. I've seen plenty of Poochyena all over the place, so if he really thought that it would suit his team best, he could always get another one somewhere."

She received the same odd look from Darrel and Alex. "Now I understand that you all become attached to each Pokemon, but like I said before, there's no point to it. Aren't there over 500 Pokemon? You obviously aren't going to use all of them, it isn't possible. And what happens if you find a Pokemon that is completely superior to one you have? What if that Pokemon will make a difference between victory and defeat in the Pokemon League? I need the best Pokemon. And if other trainers weaken themselves with the attachments, that makes it easier or me to win. So yes, it IS what I believe. It is what it is."

Alex paused and raised an eyebrow "Completely better?" He grinned "That'd be impossible. I don't intend on challenging the league or anything like that. Contests? Maybe. But if I did find one? I'd let it go. No point in trading out my team. I like them the way they are. Don't get me wrong I understand your point. But I think its wrong. But... After the shit Chell pulled... I just want these guys by my side..." He clenched his fist tightly when he mentioned her name.

"I...I'm sorry Sid. I didn't expect to see him there." said Eric, still shaken and upset.

"I need to heal my Pokemon."

bob returned the happy cubone back to his pokeball and then walked back to the pokecenter, he looked at all the damage that was caused, if I only could have been faster then I could have helped fight team rocket and not just arrive looking stupid, but I did the best I can. bob thought to himself. when he entered the pokecenter he saw the girl from earlier 'so are your pokemon fine or are you going to take them round the back shoot them and catch new ones?' he said filled with despise for this girl.

Sid sat beneath a tree, all by himself... alone. Something didn't feel right, something was missing. Deep down in his heart, he felt Pooch's pain, his suffering and he hoped that his Pokemon would be fine. No... he knew that Pooch would be fine, that puppy never gave up. Not when it was beaten for defending Sid back in Violet City; not when it paw had been broken; nor when his food ran out; especially not when his mother...

Sid shook off that thought, he didn't even want to think about what happened to Pooch's mother, so pulled his legs forward and held himself in a ball as a tear dripped from his eye.

Gereld sighed and shook his head at Bob's immediately hostility towards Lily. " Just going to pick up right were we left off, huh?" Gereld closed his eyes for a moment and looked up. When he looked down again, he had a slightly mischievous smile. "Besides, the only way to change her mind about something is for you to be homeless anyway."

I've managed to gain partial use of a semi-computer. It makes about as much sense in context, so don't bother asking for clarification.

Eric stood in line, waiting for Pokemon to be healed. He noticed Alex, Lily and Darrel standing in a corner of the crowded center. He waited impatiently for the line to move.

Dad's going to be testing me... I had no idea he had a... What kind of Pokemon was that dog thing anyway? I think Jenna's ready to handle his Noctowl and Jason can handle the Furret....

Darrel stood there scratching under the right side of his jaw. After a moment he answered Lily. "I don't get it, why do you hafta think like that? Pokemon are living beings, man. They've got feelings too, and they pursue relationships, just like we do. When you catch one, you're making a bond with it, that's not something you should just throw away."

He pointed behind the counter, where he had left his Pokemon to be treated. "Me, Spike, Puck, we're all friends, and we're stronger for it. Friends fight harder when they're fighting for friends, I'd say. Ever wonder why the gym leaders keep beating you?"

"She chooses to not get close to her pokemon. It's not something we'll be likly to change, Darrel." Said Gereld, Hoping that this wouldn't devolve into an arguement that went no where.

 

[Sliverwings]

Sirens blared as several ambulances roared into Azaela Town. They pulled into the center of town, next to the destroyed Pokemon Center, and the doors flew open before they stopped. Six of them read "Goldenrod General Hospital" and the other four "Pokemon Center: Goldenrod Branch"; and teams of four leapt from their respective vehicles, immediately tending to injured civilians and rushing into the Pokemon Center.

Sid shut his eyes and began rocking himself back and forth, the tears freely falling from his eyes now. Deep down inside he wished this was all a bad dream, that he'd wake up and be in the arms of a mother he never knew. He mumbled to himself and lost himself in his wish.

Alex yawned and placed Horus and Cecily's pokeballs up on the counter, They had taken most of the brunt of the attack, Rhodes and Nina however remained by him. "Gerald has a point. I just don't like the idea of there pokemon that are 'completely superior?' to mine. Pokemon are like people. They all have their ups and downs." Alex laughed and scratched the back of his head. "Sorry. I said I'd back off and that's the first thing I say."

Lily shot daggers at Darrel. "I lost those Gym battles because I wasnt ready. When I am... I WILL win."

She was going to go on, but fortunately Gerald cut in and cooled the argument down. Lily backed off as she saw dirty looks from Alex, Darrel, AND the new kid. She also had a strange feeling that even Gerald wasn't all too pleased with her. Feeling uncomfortable and hearing the sirens, she made up a quick way out, "Looks the the professionals are here... I'd rather not get in their way. I'm gonna go find Sid." She flatly stated, hoping that she would be able to speak with him now. She left quickly, unable to leave fast enough.

Gerald rounded on Darrel and Bob the moment Lily left with her obvious excuse. " What the hell do you two think your doing? You," Snarled Gerald, pointing vicously at Darrel, " Go on about how pokemon have feelings and such, yet you bassically just said that the way she thinks, the way she feels about this whole danm thing is all wrong. How the hell do you think she feels about that?"

Turning towards Bob, Gerald then japped his finger straight into his chest. " And you! Why would you insinuate she'd kill her pokemon? She's not cruel! She might not get attached to her pokemon, but that doesn't mean she's mean to them, does it?" Gerald sat down in a nearby chair, surprized at both how angry he had just gotten, but also how much stress was released as a by-product of the stress.

I decided to change the end of my post so that those who wish can speak back to Gerald.

'well she seemed to be having a hard time understanding why someone was so upset about the fact their pokemon could die soon, so I decided to put the though of her pokemon dying in her head' Bob walked over to Gerald 'but I will say this she never said anything about my comment of her shooting her own pokemon. She got more upset about the fact that the other person' bob pointed at Darrel 'said that what she was doing would mean she couldn't win' duskull slowly appeared over bobs shoulder 'I mean if I had her attitude I would have got rid of duskull ages ages ago but no I am working on his weakness over years and soon he will the best duskull I have ever seen. Not because I always went for the strongest pokemon but because I went for the ones which I saw something in' duskull at this point got board from a rant Bob has made many of times, so decided to start floating around the pokecenter 'that's why I want to battle her to show her even the weakest of pokemon can be great with the right nurturing'

"I agree with you, it's just... I prefer not to insult people when I disagree with them." Gerald said. " And by the way," Gerald added as an after thoughtm " Just because she didn't respond to your insult doesn't mean she didn't get upset over it...although I'll admit, she probably didn't."

"Excuse me, guys." One of the EMTs said and brushed passed Gerald, followed by several more. They all ran into the back room and immediately ran back out. Some of them were carrying pokeballs, others were carrying Pokemon too injured to be inside their pokeballs. Many of them came out with fresh blood on their shirts and arms, others smeared across their faces.

"We got a Poochyena, critical condition!" Someone from the back yelled, "Go find... his trainer!"

Alex looked up 'A poochyena, huh... Wait. Where's Sid? That's Pooch.' He thought to himself. "Shit! I'll go find him!" Alex raced out the door returning Nina to her ball. Rhodes kept pace with him easily, "SID! THEY FOUND POOCH! SIIIIDDDD!!!"
