Fashion trends that make children look like street walking whores.

Yes, if you're 16 and older, and you want to show off a little more skin, then that's your prerogative as someone coming into adulthood, what I'm talking about is the constant look of 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who wear clothing that just five years ago was popular with the prostitution sect. As a father of two girls, I will be damned if my daughters will be allowed to wear anything revealing or "sexy" until they're 16. After that, it's their choice, but by then I hope that both are going to have some sense of modesty and self respect not to dress in something that advertises free sex.
This, also parents who don't actually teach their children morals ect.
Depressingly when I went to secondary school most 12-15 year old girls were having frequent sex, most of them with 20+ year old guys.

This "raising awareness" stuff people are doing. A friend of mine recently wore pink for a week "to raise breast cancer awareness" and was quite vocal about it. Breast cancer isn't some obscure endangered animal; I'm pretty sure just about everyone is "aware". Wearing pink all day only makes it look like you're helping.
Oh yes, this. Even those, those fucking Facebook status's about what colour bra you're wearing or whatever to raise awareness. No, we don't need to raise awareness. Some people join in with shit like that because they think it makes a difference. No! Giving money to the charity will make the difference, people need to get off their arses and stop acting like following a stupid chain mail is going to do any good.

OT: The thing that gets me, which people may find stupid is those who wear fake glasses. It's like you're taking the piss out of people who need to wear them. You wouldn't have a wheelchair if you didn't need one, but fake glasses are okay? Maybe it pisses me off because my niece is partially blind in her left eye and has to wear glasses with a fake right lense. They make me think they're mocking people like my niece. Fashion is absolutely ridiculous.

The rise in morbid obesity levels worldwide. Also, the average age for developing type two diabetes is getting lower every year. The government should pass a law banning obese people from buying chocolate in their own post code.
Totally agree, but no government will go to that extreme...which kinda sucks for people like me (nutritionist) who have to work with more and more patients.

The big Q is who's fault is it? those who bombard us with advertising of their product or the ones who cant say no to them.

Thank God I'm not the only one who hates that I got nothing but trouble in high school because of it. I'll have sex when I want and only when I feel a connection to the woman not just to do it. If it was really so great then everyone I knew would be happy as hell but as it stands no one was and it seemed to cause nothing but trouble.

Not to start anything, but the growing hate or at least vocal disliking of religion by other religious groups. Most the whole growth in popularity/vocalness of Atheism in proportion to the growth/accessibility of the internet.

I mean, its perfectly fine if you want to be atheist (or really any other religion) but theres not a lot of need to go to the internet and talk about how religion is wrong and the source of all the worlds problems just by the vocal few who make it look bad. And thats not meant to glorify other religions over it, cause they're guilty of the same, but I just dont believe that every atheistic thread is made in retaliation of a shot some religious person made at atheism.
Atheism is not a Religon. Atheists don't even necessarily think alike. I consider myself a Atheist, ALL that means is that I do not believe in a God. Simple reasoning, I have no rational reason to believe in a God. I do not deny Gods existence, I simply don't believe it. In other words: Maybe there is a God, but if so, that God and all of his followers have given me no compelling reason as to believe he exists.

You want to know something? I can't recall ever saying anything bad about any Religion other then Christianity, which is actually quite ironic seeing as officially I am a Catholic Christian. Do you know why I am far more likely to speak up against Christianity? Because I live in the western World where it is, despite being the belief in a invisible man in the sky, has far too much influence. Religious people actually have political power. Now think about that for a moment. If I have encountered no rational reason for belief, why on earth would I be happy with people, that from my perspective migh aswell believe in Vampires and Werewolves, actually have the political power to influence the world I live in? To me, that's like making people from the looney-bin King. Go ahead and believe all you want, if you want me and probably almost everyone else to leave you alone about it, tell your Leaders to back the fuck out of my life.
In comparison to the eastern world where Islam reigns supreme and a few countries are built on theistic monarchies, eh (not that... well, I guess not that I can judge coming from the western world).

I consider atheism a religion. Religion to me is a firm understanding and belief in (at least) one core concept by which you live your life and are influenced by. And the firm belief that there is not a god, or at least that you choose not to believe there is one, seems to be a rather monumental decision to live life by.

Just as an example in your own example, not every Christian believes the same, as some doesnt have Jesus on the Crucifix. Sunni and Shi-ites dont necessarily believe the same, and there are four sects of Judaism. you can be different and still have a unifying believe.

...

Not that any of that is meant to convert anyone, just and explanation of my view point I suppose. Though I have to question how much religion is being "pushed" on your life in a progressive western world country, and if its being pushed on you, or just being for those its directed for and youre taking it too personally.

This, honestly, I only recently started having sex and I like it a lot but it's not earth shattering. I'd have friends who would give me shit about having been a virgin before hand and now it feels about then same. I've matured as a person undoubtedly but I don't automatically feel the need to ***** at other people.

Gay marriage in America. Specifically, the fact that it's not legal and the fact that ANYONE still believes the legalization of Gay Marriage is a RELIGIOUS DISCUSSION. It's fucking not. It's a legislative and civil rights discussion. GRAGLE GRAGLE!
It's a disturbing trend, though not entirely new, that ANY human rights issue is put up to popular vote. They're supposed to be freaking inalienable rights.

This doesn't just mean gays, either, because we're still dealing with rather draconic attitudes towards women and anyone darker than the Irish. Which are then put up to vote.

No, it isn't a religion, but if you want to believe so, keep in mind, the unifying belief would be less ''There is no God'' and more ''Christianity is full of shit'', I'm fairly certain most of us could agree on the second one.

...
then youre not being atheistic, you're just being prejudice and something of a dick really. Last i checked, atheist meant you believed in no god of any religion, not an immediate hate and intolerance to Christians. Cause i gotta admit, if thats the true definition there, my atheistic friends arent doing it right.

and thats fine, but considering that atheism is <url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atheism_and_religion#Legal_status_of_atheism>protected under <url=http://factschurch.com/sermons/sermon004.html>the legal protections <url=http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=31895>religions have (at least here in the US), id say its very much a religion, as it even fits some of the core questions of what necessarily makes a religion.

Of course, you're free to give that up, just, you think its you're being infringed upon now, just wait till you dont have that freedom and some tells you to be religious (jewish, muslim, christian, hindu, etc) and the law cant do anything about it.

I dont care if you are or not to be honest, but you seem to have the wrong view of what it means.

Political correctness and over-sensitivity. I'm a pretty nice and tolerant person, but talking to some people is like walking through a mine field.

"Dawkinists". Those people who are more than willing to condemn religion in the name of science, but usually have a very limited understanding of said religions and the scientific theories they use as arguments against them. (as annoying as he is, at least Dawkin is actually a scientist, the vast majority of these supporters have only a high-school level of understanding in the field)

Frozen dinners. People try to tell me they're cheaper than regular meals, but a smart shopper and a good cook can make much better meals for less; people are just too lazy to cook.

Anti-Child people; including those who claim to hate children, those who scoff at the mothers of crying children in public areas and those who show contempt for younger mothers. These people just come off as snobby to me, I find it very frustrating when there's a child crying in a grocery store and somebody else will tell them "can you shut him/her up!" "can't you control your child?"... I mean it's not like they have an off button.

How breast cancer awareness seems to have become a pseudo-feminist movement rather than bringing awareness to the disease itself. Why is breast cancer so much more marketable than other forms of cancer?...wait dumb question (Not against feminism in all it's forms, this just seems like the wrong way to do it)

Well that is clearly a biased graph. For starters Kartina is marked as 514 million, while the rest are just marked as 275, 209, although I assume it means million. Also I'm not sure if just the first 7 days can really give you a good idea of the general situation.
Just wanted to point that out.
OT: The whole "OMG you're playing WoW so you must be a brainless addict" trend

God, religious tolerance, and other shit that does not exist. I do not want to hear, see or be near it. Realize no spooky father figure is always watching over you and grow up. There is no magic in the world. Space wizards do not exist.

"Urban" culture. It can fuck off. Take your god damn jersey off. I not care if they are in the play offs. Take your ugly hat off, or at least make it NOT side ways. Get whatever shit you stapled into your teeth out of your mouth. Get a job. I do not "owe" you respect, or anything else tangible or otherwise. Your pimped out Impala is dramatically overshadowed by your shanty of an apartment in a crime raped part of town. The man is not holding you down, you are.

People who tell you they are "1/16th native American". It's not true, and even if it is, we do NOT care. You are a pale skinned person with fake blond hair. Did the native Americans have bleach to change their hair color?

Sarah Palin needs to die. The government is NOT on your side. Statistically speaking, the overwhelming majority of the time the RICHEST candidate wins. Not the smartest, not the polls, the richest.

I'm glad MJ is dead.

I think people use the first seven days as a projection because thats when its freshest and the coutry shows its weakest. after the help starts coming in and rebuilding starts, it looks less horrible and less people donate. Kinda the shock and awe factor.

All this talk of world hunger, obesity and charity makes my bug bears feel so shallow.
I'm also older than the average forum dweller here, so my opinions are that of a grumpy old dude.

The rise and rise of RNB in "pop" music. Is it just me or is it getting to a point where it's drowning out nearly every other form of music. Even programs dedicated to alternative music now seem to be dominated by people talking over a backing track.

Kids walking around with thier smart phones playing music out loud. Usually some tinny crap of the aforementioned variety. Get some headphones. Even if people wanted to listen to what you were playing the sound coming out of your micro-watt speaker is *&&%^ and you're ruining music.

The wearing of jeans / pants so that underwear can be see. Isnt it time this fad ended already.

Clothing in general;

Men that are / dress "metro"-sexual. Men should be men. You should be able to identify a male or a female from a distance based on their clothing and their walk. When average men dress and walk like women society has a problem.

Fat women in leggings. Ugg boots. Fugly more like.

On the otherhand I should try not to care so much.
