Yeah but Tifa also had tits that mountain expeditionists could get lost in. (not sexist)poiumty said:My first thought was "give her pants!".
I guess the japanese don't like pants on girls. Even though it seemed to work fine on Tifa.
This. Game developers can make whatever game they want, art's art.Zeekar said:To those butthurt few individuals that seem to be throwing a feminism fueled temper tantrum over this:
Artists can and will do ANYTHING they want to bring their visions to fruition. This includes changing characters as they see fit. Udea decided that a male lead made more sense and that is fine.
His opinion on what sex would have been better for this game does not make him sexist; it makes him a man of artistic integrity. Chances are there were many reasons for the change.
Grow thicker skin - there is absolutely nothing to be gained by rampant political correctness. It just makes you look like a raving reactionist.
It is an adolescent female character, also it's a fictional world and place. It's possible we just aren't getting the whole story and it would have demanded putting the character in skit to better convey that the character is female and keep within the rules setup by this fictional world. Who knows, I still think putting her in some damn pants would have been a better solution then a sex change, but I am open to hearing more before I pass any kind of final judgment.8bitmaster said:I agree with the last part of the article. If they wanted a female main character that badly, all they needed to do was switch it from a skirt to pants. Simple as that. If they say that if its a female main that she would need a skirt, then team ico has problems.
I'd like to ask you to look back at all these comments that have been made so far.Fronzel said:Thanks for the usual derailment of this kind of discussion. No one's telling Udea what to do, they're questioning the logic of "no skirt = male". I don't know why "how about a girl with pants?" is supposed to be such an unreasonable suggestion.Corjha said:This. Please don't stretch/change the original intent of my post(s) anymore. Or infer it. Anyways, It's rude not to answer someone, so here you go:boholikeu said:So he&s awesome because he views women as simply being weak rather than sexually objectifying them?
