Hellyeah the US tied England and as an American I am pumped. Granted the goal was a major fluke, but the US played well enough. For all of those who watched the match on ABC the British announcer was a biased, arrogant ass. Take that!

OK, so now I have to make this not be a flame war(if possible, not my intent just very excited). What did you think of the game and what chances do you give both England and USA in a potential title run? Who do you think will win the Cup?

I thought the game was great and neither team will win. The winner of the 2010 World Cup will either be Argentina or the reigning champs:Italy.

Don't know really, I'm assuming England will prevail. I actually watched Doctor Who instead... it was a good episode...

Honestly I don't understand soccer (football for you annoying non Americans =P) you play one and a half hours for 1 point? Talk about a snooze fest. That's just my opinion.

Well yeah, I thought the US wouldn't stand a chance, but there ya go. Didn't expect those dirty Britons to play like that. They can do better, though I don't think they're out yet.

I'm so unpatriotic, I really don't care if the US wins it. I'd like to see Brasil win a sixth title. I really just wanna see France go down for knocking Ireland out of contention.

Um...I wanna say USA, but the Brits are probably better seeing as soccer is their life...and tea...and rugby...

I'm english, so I expect dissapointment. I never put USA into the winning equation, I still don't. I don't really know much about the quality of the teams, but it seems (to me) like the way the teams were organised into groups was to seperate the good teams and put 1 in each group.

My list being:
Group A - France
Group B - Argentina
Group C - England
Group D - Germany
Group E - ?
Group F - Italy
Group G - Brazil
Group H - Spain

I'll be watching the final, and maybe some england matches later on.. but I'm not that into it.

I was pretty pissed when that happened, I was anticipating that England would obliterate them. Ah well it was still a good match.

Bahaha, ahhh funny thanks for that.

To be honest, USA won because of a really shit mistake by the england Keeper, one i'm betting he won't live down. Apart from that Emile Heskey seemed to be trying to be offside and should have got replaced by crouch sooner :)

BUT WITHOUT DOUBT THE WORST PART OF IT WAS IT-fucking-V. Seriously the worst people in the world to do anything yet they still get the england matches. To give you Americans an idea of how bad they where, me watching in HD missed the england goal because some moron started adverts. The commentators are just awful, and you often wonder if you are watching the same match and lastly they show recaps so often for so long that you almost miss half the action. I remember it cutting back to people almost scoring and your sat thinking holy shit we almost missed a goal looking at Heskey in slow motion on the floor.

Urgh ITV are shit, and we should get to ban them from ever having any sport we care about ever again.
