Valve goes all biblical on fake server counts.

We all know that there are some servers in TF2 that use fake player counts to get people to join. Well today Valve (or someone else) did something about it.

It gets better. If you take the player counts and match them to passages in the bible you get stuff like this:

Jeremiah 50:32: The arrogant one will stumble and fall and no one will help her up; I will kindle a fire in her towns that will consume all who are around her."

Exodus 32:34 "Now go, lead the people to the place I spoke of, and my angel will go before you. However, when the time comes for me to punish, I will punish them for their sin."

Jeremiah 50:24 "I set a trap for you, O Babylon, and you were caught before you knew it; you were found and captured because you opposed the LORD."

Acts 26:32 "Agrippa said to Festus, "This man could have been set free if he had not appealed to Caesar.""

I love Valve.

There was one server I used to click on a few times (Mr. Greens something I think) that showed people in it but didn't have any, annoyed the hell out of me. (Till I picked a few to favourite)

Looking at my server browser though I can only see 5 of these.

For everybody commenting on the Ep. 3 situation, it's already finished, but they just want to wait until people start saying that Valve will never make it, then they'll release it to much praise.

Also, where is the biblical connection? I don't see anything in that graphic relating the counts to, well, anything. As far as I can tell, you just picked a random book and plugged in the server pop. Not exactly attributable to Valve...

First, fake server counts are a legitimate problem (mostly a passing annoyance) in a current property. Second, it was likley easily addressed by a single developer spending a day or two on the task. Third, episode 3 comes out when it's done and I suspect that the potential delay of a few man hours means little with regards to the actual release date.

Seriously, I'm beginning to think the internet doesn't know what it wants. They want new stuff now but it must be perfect and not too soon after the old stuff. Also they want the old stuff supported but they don't want to pay.
