god damit man, i didn't even find any racism in resi 5.
yes the main enemies were black people, but that was because it was set in africa! there where white guys too, one of the playable characters was a black english woman, and the main bad guy is white!

resi 4 caused no controversy and the enemies in that game were all generic spanish speaking hill billy's, but nobody cared about that, it seems as soon as the black man is thrown into the mix, it deems itself as some sort of excuse for everyone to rave against it!

and left for dead 2, just because it's in new orleans!?!?!

sense. this makes none. if the enemies were all black and had trumpets in their hands, and all the players were white supremacist wearing big pointy white hats, then yes the racism boat would have well and truly set sail. but no, there's a nice mix of races.

if there was a game, where you played as a group of black guys, killing middle aged white dudes for no apparent reason, it would cause no commotion at all (apart from maybe being deemed as sexist because there are no white girls for the characters to shoot)

hang on wasn't that game 50 cent, blood on the sand......

gah, it's just annoying, and i wish someone would release a REALLY REALLY racist/sexist/controversial game so that people can see what one looks like, because apart from conkers bad fur day (jokes), i've never come across a game that should properly shock and offend people.

ooo actually just show everyone who thinks these are racist the 'Rape Simulation' video game market that they have in japan

that'll show em

sort of

eww...

What so because there are black zombies in a game that means your racist? I CALL RACISM ON SO MANY WHITE ZOMBIES IN THE GAME, RACIST I TELL YOU! RACIST!

They have mixed races so it's not racist. It's also not racist for all the enemies to be black guys if the game is set in freakin Africa. Most games have a predominantly white cast, which makes them more racist than RE5 or LFD2 (which isn't even out yet for fuck's sake).

Equal opportunities for zombies I say!

Political correctness is insanity IMO, and I didn't feel like there was any racism in call of juarez, except for the parts that were deliberate such as the whites vs savages historical thingy, which obviously can't be ignored.

All I know is, I've seen posters on white-supremacy websites absolutely CROWING about both of those games, fairly gibbering with glee--also over RE5.

Do with that what you will.

Calling a game racist for being historically accurate doesn't make much sense to me. Likewise, calling a game racist for being regionally accurate is also absurd. In fact, being sensitive to the point where calling a game out because it shows some controversial symbolism or because it contains a certain group of people really just makes the accuser a prick for being over-considerate of the point of view of others. In the end, it's just people killing other people, a sad fact to be sure, but really it isn't anything to get excited about.

There will always be extremists on both sides that find a problem with things like this. People can always find racism if they are looking hard enough. As for me, I see absolutely nothing wrong with L4D2 or RE5. Demographic accuracy is not racism...

Thats like saying if a guy eats 9 apple pies, but throws one out because a squirrel jumped in it, he hates apple pie.
Gotta be honest with ya, I don't really get that analogy.
Thats because it makes as much sense as the racist accusations.

Oh fuck off, just fuck off. How can it be racist, they're already fucking dead for a start so most of them are a more greenish colour than anything. It's a fucking game. If you're really concerned about the colour of the person/zombie/robot/thing that you are killing then either the game is shit or you are really, really overthinking it.

There are some people who just really need to shut up. Racism is a very serious issue is this day and age and it does not need fuckwits wasting everyone's time with inane theories like this.

apparently people love to be offended. the confederate flag isnt racist, its a symbol of redneckism. and because SOME of the zombies are black, that makes it racist? jesus, i have to believe if they made them all white again, then hed be saying theyre purposely EXCLUDING other races.

Why is it that instead of seeing a bunch of targets to shoot, someone has to say "Oh wait, there are some african americans we're shooting, this is a racist game!" racism is a two way street and I'm getting tired of waiting for the day someone says, "Why are we only shooting white people? This game is racist!"

Society as a whole can never better itself until it stops looking at the differences in appearance and saying that any negative speech or misinterpreted images are automatically bad. But then again, most people (like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson) think that the only way to unite is on whities bloated corpse. I say we bury the hatchet in the back of a zombie and keep on smackin' down the zombies.

yahtzee said it best..in my opinion.

Certain people get all annoyed because they are portrayed as this or that..or not portrayed at all..
WHY?

LET IT GO..slavery ended years ago..replacing "whites hating blacks" with "blacks hating whites" is not what Martin Luther King was fighting for.

A blogger making ridiculous reactionary claims against a piece of media despite all evidence to the contrary and only a passing knowledge of the subject matter?

Well colour me shocked.

Is this even news? A man with a blog is riled, oh no.

so just because you have to fight african-american zombies it's racist?
and having a confederate flag is racist? does that mean the COD games are racist because they have swastikas?
this is just ridiculous.
