Video game charicters you truely care about

Yup, I'm a walking cliche.

No, you'd be a walking cliche if you were one of those people who went around screaming about how awful a character she is without being able to back it up. I've heard at least 1000 people in the last 13 years tell me how she's the worst character ever made, and is horrible and awful and destroyed FFVII. Not one gave me a legitimate reason why.

So the cliche people are her haters. I've never seen someone who liked Aerith making that kind of annoying noise.

If you're the one who is to decide whether a reason is legitimate...well I can see why it takes a long time then. Don't make the mistake of assuming that you are being objective while the rest is being subjective.

When people use the words "dumb whore" or "stupid *****" to describe her, it doesn't take a genius to figure out their argument is wholly invalid.

Fair enough... But what do you consider a good argument why she is a good character, worthy of sympathy? Answer me this and I'll TRY to formulate a good argument why she is NOT a good character.

Alyx Vance, because she is everything a video game sidekick should be.

Yuna from FFX and FFX-2 because you have to be a robot not to be saddened by her story.

Everyone from Super Mario RPG because the ending is so touching and I am biased in that I love that game far too much.

There's a lot of characters in games that I care about. This mostly because when I play any game, no matter what, I try to put myself in the mind of the main character. So not only do I care about the main characters, but everyone that they care about as well.

Lara Croft. Mainly because it was the the first actual game I played, and the only series that I was completely interested in.
Although that doesn't mean that I didn't make her take a swan dive off of tall buildings every level.

My saints row 2 character oh how i love you so. That and my guy looks like house and uses mainly the pimp cane shotgun. Which is awsome. Also my kotor II character oh darkside you treat me so well lol

I can't believe I forgot Jolee Bindo and Revan from KotOR! And Bastila, and T3, and HK-47, and Carth, and Zaalbar, and Mission, and Canderous.

Not Juhani though. God I hate her still.

Jolee though... One of my most favourite characters in anything I've ever watched, read or played.

The best anyone has ever given me was "She's a plot device", which is a hollow argument that could apply to every character ever made. And I don't really need to give you a detailed explanation of why I like her. I like her, that's all that matters to me.

Heh..it's okay..I don't need a detailed explanation. I just don't really understand what a "hollow" argument is and what makes an argument "hollow"... I'd like some time to do a little "research"...so I'll get back to you with my argument some time tomorrow. Promise xD.

Difficult, because there aren't many that I actually care about (especially nowadays) but I'd have to say Martin in Oblivion, and the Prince and Farah from Sands of Time.

Zack Fair, I played Crisis Core expecting to hate it, but somehow it drew me in. It was a strange experience, even Sephiroth seemed like a nice guy and happy. It definately added a sense of tragedy to the original, the first meeting with Zack and Aerith was very bittersweet, but you know what's coming up and it took some damn good writing not to make the whole thing seem overly-futile.
Now excuse me while I go and think masculine thoughts.

Most people seem to despise that game in general.
