Ramirez.

Think about it for a second. RAMIREZ, GO MOW THE LAWN! RAMIREZ, GO CLEAN YOUR ROOM AND THEN MAKE DINNER!

And they'd have to listen cause there's no other way to finish the level.

In all seriousness though, I'd probably stay away from some of the weirder ones, just cause. Except maybe as a middle name, or if it just sounds really good.

I've always liked Alyx and Tali, maybe Atrus but even that's a little more on the edge. Or Sam and Max if you have two boys.

This is harder then I expected. I can see why you turned to the forums for help.

EDIT: How about Chell?

I don't know about you but my son will be named Isaac, in honor of this badass.

You would name your son after a chick with a dude's name? I'd name mine with some kind of Mandalorian word.
I'm guessing you've never played the greatest handheld RPG of all time. Am I right?
I haven't played a hand held since before the dark times, before the Empire... Some how I think its Star Wars reference night for me >.>

Vault Dweller.

But really, don't listen to half of the people on this thread lol.

Tifa Smith? Sephiroth Smith? Link Smith? Any game that has an acceptable name for a main character, probably has a normal name. I'd go with Dante though. Every other name is kinda odd and most people will regard you and your son as someone who liked video games a little too much; if you choose a name that's really recignized and unique. IE Kratos, Snake and such.

Don't fucking do it. People who do this are literally the worst parents can be without actually being abusive to their children. But regardless naming your child after a video game character is just laughable.
Wow drama queen. Normal names are not that great. I resent the fact my parents named me Steven Smith. Its so plain that it seems they put no effort what so ever into the name.
He's just jealous he doesn't get to reproduce. With something other than his hand of course.
How then I don't know how many abortions I've had. I've whacked off so much, but I never knew I could reproduce with my hands . Oh lord, what have I done?!?!

Does Sly Smith sound to stupid?

If I were you I'd try to use a less obvious name and one that sounds good so your kid doesn't hate you too much for naming you after a video game character. Once you think about it, it really is no worse then naming your child after a literature character or a movie character etc.

I know a lot of people have been saying it but Gordon Smith does actually sound really good.

Although if you just want to be a total asshat make your kid's initials C.A.T.S

(think "All your base belong to us")

My Wife and I will start trying to have children soon and I was wondering. Are there any names related to video games that would work for children's names but would work well enough to be approved by my wife?

Any suggestions would help
Auron (from ffx- he's the badass one)

Bullshit. Different names can add to individuality. We shouldn't be forced to grow up in a society where everybody's name has to be selected from a 'list' of your so-called "NORMAL" names. People who have different names aren't victims of a deranged childhood.

Why, shouldn't you just focus on giving the kid a nice name first and foremost. I mean Glados would be apretty badass name but not very practical.

Personally I want to name my son Gordon, because it's a nice name and some of the greatest heroes of science fiction (including Gordon Freeman) have sported it.

Could you tell us what games you like? It could help us.

Also, those who are complaining have a point: it can be based off a video game, but if his name is something like Duke Nukem, that would be sort of silly. I think it's okay to think of a video game name, but make sure it isn't too absurd.

Here are a few suggestions, first and middle:

John (Jack) Ryan

Andrew Ryan

Jack Carver

Dante (from Dante's Inferno; I thought the name was very nice sounding)

Isaac Clarke

Ethan Thomas

2) Azure (based off of Azura, the daedra goddess) probably the most legit name I've come up with
You know that's a colour right?
yes.
The folks I used to live with didn't. She was pregnant when they got married and it didn't dawn on her until she saw her daughters name on the chart at one of her first checkups....
Middle Name: Azure
Last Name: (just acquired through marriage) Beard.

XXXXXXX Azure Beard.

Bluebeard.

:)

So let me get this straight. You named your kid after Freya? Mouse face Freya?

You're awesome in my book.

Anyways. If you want to give your kid a name that won't get him picked on, but is still from a video game, and based on an awesome sumabish, go with Zack Fair Smith.

...actually, scratch that. Don't use it. >> Only my future son gets a name that awesome.
Yep, my kids I can call them what I want :p In my opinion Freya was the best character in FFIX

Well you never told us if it's a boy or a girl so this is kind of difficult.

I'd say John for a boy, It's common enough to not be nerdy yet you can always tell yourself you named your kid after the Master Chief. OR Raynor from starcraft. Both sound good.

For a girl I'd say Aeris, Zelda, or Alyx. Something different.
