1. How the hell do they promote sexism???
2. War rewards violence, look around you.
3. Low self asteem????????????????????????????? I mean seriously, where is the connection between the two.
The one lady who was talking about it prabably just took one look at it and said "SEXIST!!!" shows you how smartness has left the world.

It annoys me how they clap after everything the other two people said.
This show is on at about 3-4pmish? So adults with children and probably no jobs will be watching it. It's a bit unfair having this subject on a TV show like this.

Lets make our own TV show and complain about how soap operas and shoe shopping cause violence ;)

We do not promote sexism, hatred, violence or racism.

Oh and the Rapelay don't count since it's from the japanese...and NO kid will be able to get it, or know about it since there won't be someone to tell them...unless said child was watching CNN with his parents who showed the reports of the game, then it's their {the parents} problem.

Curse you america and your be afraid of something you don't understand attitude. The only reason these guys exist is because they did not grow up with video games. Here's a lesson. Your the hero in games. You are usually the moral paragon. shut up. I'm so sure that my Castlevania games are going to make go out and star whipping people in the streets. Next thing you know they are going to say Pac man promotes cannibalism and tetris promotes dropping things on people.

Old people claim that children can't differ between animated violence and real violence, right? But did you,as a gamer, ever look at ingame screens and think was a photorealistic movie? Even nowadays, you can tell the difference between animation and reality, and here lies the crux. Old people(politicians) are not used to animated graphics and are overwhelmed and shocked by the detail and realism, assuming that everyone must react the same way. Remember the N64 or GC graphics? They blew my mind, as I had never seen such graphics before. This is also the reason why Counter-Strike is always used as a prime example for violence, even though the graphics are not really detailed.

tl;dr: Reasonable people should be able to tell the difference between simulation and reality.

What?!

I'm very offended by this. When I punch women in the street, it's for totally different reasons than videogames.

Ahem.

I find it deeply ironic that she did voice acting for a few videogames once.

Anyway, she's obviously a deeply reactionist person. She'd be saying the same about films in 1901.

This is going to sound very, very cruel, and I apologize in advance, but...people like that are going to die before most of us do, and take their bigoted views with them. Let us await that day.
indeed my friend indeed

*sigh*

Personally I think it's a little unfair to have only one person speaking out in defence of video games, sitting next to two people who clearly disagree and an entire audience who only agree with the two non-gamers. The fact is that he was destined never to get a good response because the audience had already decided who's side they were on, hence he was sort of guarenteed to lose even though his arguments were quite sound.

Honestly I really do get sick of the way people respond to video game violence, especially the line about hating violence for sport, considering well... I hate to be the one to say it but there has ALWAYS been violence in human society as a source of entertainment long before there were video games or even movies.
Roman Collsseum, anyone?

Basicly "My son wants to play violent video games, I don't let him, he's acting like an asshole, these games shouldn't exist."

It's also funny that the people in that 'debate' hadn't even considered the comparison between rated DVD's, and rated games. The woman is clearly caught off guard when the guy makes the bleeding obvious comparison.

Still waiting for the rage on AC. It's an old game now, but I'm flabbergasted that none of these people have brought it up.
