Oblivion. About 30 or so hours into the game, my save breaks and makes it unloadable.

I absolutely suck at controls. I was playing Fable II with the safety off, and I accidentally shocked a quest giver to all hell trying to get to a menu.

On one of my multiple replays through Ocarina of Time, I found a way, in the Forest Temple, where if you don't use the keys just right, you end up screwed. I spent a good 2 hours making sure I did everything I could to find another key, but was completely screwed.

Then, when I went to reload it, like a tard, I habitually hit the "Yes, I want to save."

More than once have I turned off a game whilst forgetting to save.

Twice, my oldest has done it to me. When he was 3 he copied over my Twilight Princess file. I had just finished the Goron dungeon, and didn't want to deal with it all again so soon, so I didn't touch the game for over 6 months.

Then, just about a month ago (he's now 6) I was letting him play Kingdom Hearts, and he deleted my save.
God. Have learned your lesson? And that is why I keep all my saves on a seperate memory card.

Anywhos, I was playing Pokemon Gold, I had clocked over 130 hours on the thing and was like 20 off getting all the pokemon, when my cousin got a hold of it and saved over my game. Fuck.

After many hours of grinding in any game, or just a few hours or so of progress, then... either a power outage, OR the game decides to say " Aay! Fuck you!" And crashes, or you're at a hard part, hours after your last save, and you get screwed over by something or other, and rage quit. All of these have happened to me at some point or another.
Yes. Exactly. This happened to me at almost any RPG. Pokemon, Final Fantasy, Diablo... Nothing is as boring as grinding, and nothing is as agonizing as making yourself repeat it after fucking up.

I was playing a game of Battlefield Bad Company 2 with some friends. We were the attackers and down to 5 guys with both final targets left. My nemesis killed me for the 8th time in a row and I rage quit. Two minutes later i get a message from my friend asking why i quit moments before our team won.

Back when Pokemon Blue came out, I was in the Pokemon Tower, battling Gastly, when I found a Cubone (which were pretty rare). I caught it, and, fiddling with the cartridge, popped it out and lost all unsaved data.

This happened to me a lot during my veteran run of MW2. Conveniently, I decided to do this run right around the same time my disc started dying on me. It would habitually send me back to the dashboard in the middle of missions(especially the South America levels, which I HATE) and force me to start all over.

Now the disc doesn't work at all, but that's another story.

I made the mistake of getting past level 99 on Tetris, which forced me to start all over.
I did that exact same thing on Brickles. I feel for you.

Anywho, I forgot to save before going into the last boss in Neverwinter Nights. I forgot to pick up the amulet you needed to defeat her, and she completely owned me, causing me to go all the way back to the start of the tunnel area, which cost me at least 1-2 hours of play. Needless to say, I saved every five minutes on my trek back. Oh, and I remembered to pick up the f*cking amulet.

Several times in valkyria chronicles espcially after doing the tougher boss missions (on a first play through) perfectly and switching off to take a break.

I have a few...

Fallout 3: I am going for all of the bobbleheads when I make it to the Enclave base (it was my first time there), I was somewhat "panicked" by my lost equipment and went too far into the base, leaving behind that only-one-opportunity bobblehead. FUCK!

Resident Evil 5: When the game first came out, I spent weeks getting all of the achievements, so I had every single gun, fully upgraded. I had to return the game eventually, but I vowed to get it again because it was the only modern-day game that cares about my single-player exploits (the campaign leaderboards). Last, my friend bought the game. My Xbox was broken, so I recovered my account at his house, but because the data wasn't tied to may account, I had to earn all the guns again. Today he sold me the game. I went to load it up, but because my Xbox was replaced, my initial save file was GONE. Now I have to earn everything AGAIN. God damn it.

Last night I finally tackled Yiazmat on Final Fantasy XII.

To put things in perspective for the unfamiliar, this boss has fifty million hp, and even the most skilled players take a little under an hour to beat him.

The majority of the battle is pretty leisurely, but it just has so much health its a real slog. After wearing it down for about three hours, I had it down to about 6% of its health, at which point it just goes nuts and becomes a wrecking machine. Things go from bad to worse and, with a few lucky instant-death attacks and three 8-hit combos in a row, my whole party is wiped out.

I'm going to grab a few more levels and collect some needed items before tackling him again; I really don't want to have to take him on a third time.

On Xbox (PC has work-arounds) I got stuck in a rock in Morrowind and had to reload to a save three hours earlier.

I ran into a game breaking bug near the end of Kotor 2 and still have never beaten the game because it pissed me off so much.

I hear that - disks seem almost designed to break these days, and its fucking irritating.

OT, Oblivion springs to mind. I was nearing the end of a session, needed to lose weight, and scarfed down all the food I'd accumulated. Then I saved. Over the one file I'd been using for days. Well, when I reloaded, I couldn't spend more than a couple minutes playing before dropped dead, and after frantically running through all my health potions to no great avail, I figured it out. Turned out I accidentally ate the poison apple I'd bought for the shit from the assassins. That is to say, the one whose primary effect is a 15 minute drain on hit-points - basically unsurvivable. Anyway, after about 20 minutes looking for a solution that didnt involve losing a week of gameplay, I bit the bullet, skipped three levels back, and threw the fucker right out of my inventory.

In Fallout 3 upon doing "The Waters of Life," my game kept randomingly freezing at the same place. I even cleared cache and tried to un & re- download an update - still nothing. I went back farther in a save point and it froze again in this same place. I was so mad. >.<

I actually wonder if it's because I cleared out the Jefferson Memorial and half of the other stuff I was supposed to face during end game.

In any case - I had to restart the game all over from scratch. My old save point (where it freezes) is still there because I have a shred of hope that it might work again LOL.
