Well, since I'm a young male American, Wal-Marts the funnest place in the world to fuck around in, and to mess with people in. If you work at Wal-Mart, what would you expect to happen? Maybe they shouldn't work for the worst thing to come out of any state, considering the fact it spread faster than AIDS or Genital Herpes.

Alright, I was at Walmart 2 days ago, and i saw everything I wanted. Modern Warfare 2, a video camera at 179. A iPod at 144. Everything in stock, fine and dandy. So I come in, money in hand. I look for MW2, it is out. Spirits: sad. I look at the Ipod, it is now 245. Spirits: angry. They don't have any more video cams. Spirits: PISSED OFF! Luckily, I went to best buy and they had everything! I forgot about the Ipod, I'll save that for my bday in march. Now I always have a hatred for Walmart. Filled with people from the Rednecks and Ghetto. I swear, I get so pissed off there, I get migraines when ever i walk in there. If Walmart was Goku, Ignorance would be his power. It is all over the place! So share your stories and your feelings.
I never shop at walmart for electronics, except for my TV (they had Vizios, my Best Buy did not). They built a walmart in the suburb i work in. Its across the street from where I work. Ever since its been there, all the white trash and rednecks i didnt know existed here have come out of the woodwork.

The two biggest problems with every Wal-Mart I've visited is that their employees are generally unsuited to their departments and upper management always seems to have issues. Then again, what do you expect from a store that hires out the juvenile and pays them just above minimum wage? People don't go to Wal-Mart for service, they go there for cheap items and bargain deals.

Though I don't agree that every store has crappy service, that's all based on environment and personalities. If a customer is growling and snapping at an employee, whatever customer that happens by after them is probably going to receive backlash and so on and so forth in a never ending figure eight.

On the flipside, let's talk about the customers of Wal-Mart, or customers in general. Anyone who's worked in the service industry knows there are those bad apples. The people who complain and grouse and think you're incompetent and that they know how to do your job better on any given day. Even without those ones, there are the scammers, the thieves, the punks skateboarding through the isles and knocking crap down.

So if a store is crap, it's not just the employees, it's the customers who shop there that help make it crap.

On a side note: every Wal-mart has a McDonalds because the two franchises have a partnership. Sort of a symbiotic relationship. Wal-Mart gets a set percentage of the money any McDonalds on their property makes on top of the rent McD has to pay for having a restaurant in their store while McD obviously gets to sell to more customers.

There is something wrong when a store can turn day into night in about 5 minutes...

I live in a gated community, we are surrounded by woods, hunters are everywhere, we had a Lowes next to us so they came and went, then they built a Walmart next to it. People from the ghetto and redneckistan treat that place like holy ground.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand Wal-Mart hatred? I don't understand why a single store has so much animosity directed towards it. Yes, there is evidence of them mistreating their employees, but that's not what seems to be the issue.

Also, Wal-Mart being out of stock of certain items, especially high-selling ones like Modern Warfare 2, is no reason to hate them...Best Buy was arbuably just as likely to have been sold out of it.

Oh well, I'm a Canadian...anything that gets us out of the frigid cold ca't be too bad :p
Wal-Mart's Business Strategy:

They open in an area near low-income housing. For the first month to a year, they sell things for marginally less i;e a dollar or so for lower priced items, while most things stay the same. While the people that don't know any better, or take the time to figure it out, just take Wal-Marts word that it's cheaper. Wal-Mart also has a history of mistreating employees, hiring illegals, and buying products from Third-World countries and things known to be hazardous. In fact, at the nearby Wal-Mart, they were still selling toys with lead-based paint up until a year ago. As the local business get run or bought out by Wal-Mart, Wal-Mart heightens prices until they're only a few cents off something of a higher quality from any other nearby store. People blame it on the economy and inflation, and eventually the low-income housing areas are bought out, and a second Wal-Mart, or Wal-Mart owned building is put up. Sometimes Wal-Mart will even offer alternative housing, conveniently located near the closest Super Wal-Mart.

Voila, the American Economy at it's best. Doing what it was designed to do, screw over the poor masses, and to get the rich rich enough to start over the old way of American living where one company would rule over an entire industry. Just like the old railroads companies, except for an ignorant majority that have no idea what's going on.

Thankfully, in Ireland we don't have Walmart. I am so fucking glad that monument to consumerism does not exist in my country.
It's just because you're drunk all the time.
Excuse me, but what the hell is that supposed to mean?

As for my stories, I went into a wal-mart once to buy a toothbrush on a trip because I forgot mine. It was a rather average toothbrush too.
Joke against Irish people of course. [sub]I mean no ill of course[/sub]
What a hubilub...

I got kicked for shopping once. Browsing the aisles at 11PM must be intolerable here. So now I never browse there anymore, seems fair.

Well we don't have Wal-marts in Australia (We've got beaches, bitches and beer so that's good enough for us) but if you don't enjoy them just steer clear of them. Though what's so bad about Disneyland?
WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY to girly, even for girls, all it is is Hannah Montana. Even some of the girls I know hate it.
Have you ever BEEN to Disneyland? They have maybe a few things involving Hannah Montana and most of that is in it's bastard offspring child California Adventure. In the actual Disneyland park it's very nice and atmospheric and the food is decently priced and highly edible. The rides are very nice, though definitely nice hardcore and it has that nice quality of actually being a THEME park, as in having a THEME, several in fact. Which all stay in tact. Not like Six Flags which has the theme of "Here are a bunch of roller coasters and shitty overpriced churros have fun". I love Disneyland personally, and I am not ashamed at all to admit it. I have more fun there then anywhere else in the world. The workers, though surely dying inside, give a feeling of some joy no matter how artificial. The costumes are loveable. Really all the unlikeable stuff happens behind the scenes, and what I pretend I don't know can't hurt me. I'm not going to boycott my own happiness because of corrupt business. If I did that I'd be dead by now by never buying a house, a bed, clothes or food, because business is corrupt everywhere you look.

Hey!!!!!!!!

I used to work there and let me tell you... is it horrible place, YES! But only becuase of the crap it's employee's must go through. I've seen employees comlpained on by shoppers becuase they were speaking spanish, hours being cut, overtime not being paid, not enough workers... (Ever go into a walmart with 30 registers and only 5 people working them)

But on the plus we used to prank call the intercom, play in the toy isle, throw balls across the store, have food fights, let lobsters out, put up fake signs...in other words

Hate to work there, love to play there (when I was younger) but every now and then I get the urge to let old times come out for a little fun when ever I walk in a walmart.

Yes i do hate walmart. But here's the thing; people go there to buy things cheap that were manufactured in some third or second world country, and the employees there know it's going to be a minimum wage job and that people are going to treat them like shit. But hey, they need the money. If that doesn't fit your persona, then just don't go there.
There is no such thing as a second world country. Only first and third.

I was once kicked out of a Walmart for helping a customer. No joke.

This foreigner comes up to me and asks me about the PS3 (He thought I worked there), a gift he wanted to get for his son for his birthday. He told me he didn't have much cash, but his son really wanted it.

I procceded to tell him about the inevitable Price drop. (The $299 one) and told him to just wait a little bit. He wasn't sure, since it would be after his sons birth day, so I even called his son and explained to him. Then this ***** came up to be and yelled at me. Needless to say, I never went back
how could they mistake you a worker? do you spend your extra time in a blue vest at walmart?
You don't know me anymore!

He was a foreigner. I was wearing a blue Adidas shirt. And Talking to a friend about gaming on the phone. So I guess he just went for it.

You know that something is wrong when the furries are the least of the train-wreck that is pictured here. Honestly, I've never been to a Wal-Mart, and some of the I-hate-Wal-Mart sentiments may be over the top, but there has to be some validity to those claims if this is the kind of clientele that the company attracts.
