As Dala breathed the first jet of fire, Erica kept the lightning stream trained on Dala, wating to poke at her defence as much as she could to see how much it could take. Her ward blocked some of the fire during this time, but once Erica felt the ward weakening, pulled back, moving back around the corner, where she lowered the ward.
When the green fire was breathed out and raced towards her, Erica raised the ward again, but couldn't prevent it from snaking around her defence. Hitting her in the side, Erica let out a short scream. Although the enchanted fabrics of the robe offered some protection and didn't ignite, Erica was still burned.
Gritting her teeth, Erica switched out the ward spell for a frost spell, and her storm spell for a higher-tiered one. Charging and casting the frost spell, Erica was surrounded by a cloud of swirling, icy cold winds that extended some two metres from her. With this in place, Erica charged the storm spell, and stepped back out of the corner. She took a brief moment to look for Dala, then cast the spell, sending out a lightning bolt that also travelled near-instantaneously, but was fired with limited accuracy. After firing, Erica moved back around the corner, and further down the corridor.
The lightning bolt Erica fired had more power than the stream she used earlier, giving a target a near-lethal shock, and electrical burn. With Dala's defence, Erica expected the bolt wouldn't do quite as much damage, if it would hit.
