OOC: @Kirke Oh yeah, you're right! I almost forgot about that.

James nodded and was about to respond to Laguna when he caught sight of Tophat speaking to Sir Dan out of the corner of his eye. He would not have thought about it, but something about the way the man spoke seemed off. More detached than he would have expected, and he turned to look past Laguna, directly at the man in the hat. Fortunately Tophat had its back to them as it was standing at the bar.

Laguna looked at James, then turned to look at the guy in the tophat. "Hmm... does something about that guy ring a bell, or is it just me?"

Sir Dan looked at Tophat. "Mrph ph hrm."[footnote]You don't look dead.[/footnote]

OoC: I hate this bloody mumbling...

"I'm not technically alive either, and I was created a century before I became concious."
Tophat noticed Laguna and James looking at it, and glanced over the shoulder at them under disguise of a chough.

"Ring a bell? I don't know. Something about him seems off. He seems so..." James blinked, and when his eyes opened the deep blue irises had been replaced with blazing red, and slitted pupils. In his eyes, Tophat immediately lit up with a haze of sickly red.

"What the hell?!" James gasped, automatically laying a hand on the hilt on his pistol.

Laguna looked over at James as he reached for the pistol. "What's the prob-" He noticed his eyes. "Woah, dude! Your eyes! Are you allright?"

James glanced at Laguna briefly.

"What? Yeah, I'm fine. Never mind me, that guy with the hat! He's infected with the T-Virus! I... actually... I think he might, er, have something in his hat."

Tophat turned around and placed one hand on the grip of its own rather large pistol, placing the other on the hilt of its sword.
"I'd suggest you do not try to draw that pistol. No need for it anyway."
OoC: For the record, both its pistol and sword are on its left side, with the left hand on the pistol and the right on the sword.

James stood with his hand still on the pistol.

"CEQ. Take off the hat Sir. And hands off of the weapons." He commanded, his voice that of a long-serving commanding officer.

Laguina saw Tophat reach for it's gun and sword. He stood, speaking to Tophat and James. "Ok, everyone just calm down. Hands off the weapons, and let's just talk this out."

"I'd be hard pressed to take off myself, and I'll stand down when I know what the hell your problem is."

"I have cause to suspect that you are carrying a dispersal device for a biological weapon under it." James snapped, both for Tophat's benefit and Laguna's. "And as a ranking CEQ officer I am authorised to search any potential terrorist threat related to a T-Virus threat or any similar biological attack. Take. It. Off."

James impatiently tapped a finger on the pistol grip.

"I haven't drawn my weapon yet. And considering that I'm authorised to shoot anyone deliberately facilitating the spread of the T-Virus, and your hat is saturated in it, I'd say you're not in a position to make deals."

OOC: @Kirke My turn. Shouldn't Tophat notice that James has twice referred to being directly opposed to any and all creators and/or propagators of the virus that created it?

"Well that virus has been there for 600 years, and has infected bugger all."
Tophat slowly, keeping one hand on the pistol grip, raised one hand and picked off itself momentarily, turning it to show the inside to James before putting it back on.
"Now could you please quit attempting to push your authority on beings way out of your jurisdiction?"
It said, annoyance shining through.
OoC: @Random: The T-virus had some part in creating Tophat, but it wasn't the only reason. It doesn't really give a shit about it.

James let his hand lower very slightly as he stared at the hat in confusion, his eyes still blazing red, and Tophat still clearly carrying the virus.

"Ok... Explain, then. How the hell is there any trace of living virus in that hat if it isn't coming from a container inside? It can't survive on inanimate objects." He said, squinting suspiciously at the hat.

Just about noticeable on the screen, the three individuals in the stands could be seen to rise, evidently growing bored of the fight. They disappeared from the field of vision, on their way inside.

"It makes about as much sense as any other part of my existance. It's somehow been embedded into me."
Tophat relaxed slightly, noticing James calming down.

"Can't bugs and germs last on solid surfaces for a while anyway?"

Diana saw the individuals leaving the stands. "Seems the crowd is as bored of this fight as I am."

"Some can, apparently. But not the T-Virus, it dies after a few days without a living host." James replied to Laguna before glancing back to Tophat.

"Embedded in the hat, you mean."

The three figures from the stands arrived at the door to the lounge and came inside, the two armoured figures staring coldly around while the robed one glanced around mildly. They were all male, but particularly strange looking ones. All three had pale golden skin, angular features and eyes the distinctive colour of bright amber. The two armoured men were a bit shorter, though they were easily taller than anyone in the room, and they had the self assurance and aggressive energy of two young, well trained soldiers. The man in the regal purple robe stood even taller than the other two, and without the bulky armour could be seen to have a slender, willowy physique. His hair, the colour of burnished copper, was swept back around his temples and hung down to his shoulders, revealing ears that tapered to a point. Though he too looked proud, stern and confident to the point of arrogant, he did not look particularly cruel or callous, and the wide amber eyes that seemed to pierce anyone they settled on spoke of a deep intellect.
