James saluted mockingly.
"Well thank you for the favour." He replied dryly, before stopping to listen to Laguna.
"You fool, you've killed us all!" He shouted back in the same tone of voice. "Hang on, I'll come and take a look at it." With that he set off to see what Laguna was tinkering with. As he went he passed Carmen and gave her a friendly smile.
"Saw the fight last night. Nicely done, you guys really went right down to the wire."
Aethion strode towards Cas'Va, who hurriedly snatched up his sword. Aethion lunged and thrust his sword unerringly at Cas'Va's throat, only for it to be parried. As they exchanged a few more blows Cas'Va began to give ground, mostly struggling to just fend off all of Aethion's rapid, perfect strikes. As he retreated he fired several ice spikes at Aethion at point blank range, having to drop his dagger to do so, but Aethion saw him raise his hand every time and twisted to one side to allow the shards to deflect off the angled surface of his cuirass. It was clear which of them was the better swordsman.
When he forced Cas'Va's sword out to one side however, opening his defences up for a fatal strike, Cas'Va made another devious move. Rather than attacking Aethion with another magic attack, he instead launched a fireball straight at the ground. The sand that covered the arena floor was instantly turned molten and splashed upwards and forward. Aethion once again clutched his face and stumbled back, screaming as the burning grains found his eyes and exposed skin. The offence lifted, Cas'Va took his sword in both hands, raised it over his head and then thrust it hard through Aethion's throat, point first. The defeated Elf's eyes snapped wide open and he choked and gurgled, clutching at the sharp blade as surprisingly deep red blood welled up and spilled from his lips as well as soaking the area around the wound.
