Who wants to see Gameplay from Space Marine and the New MMo Dark millenium? I DO!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zt5e2OX9FUk&playnext_from=SL Dark Millenium
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnfniAbzYX8&feature=channel Space Marine

So what do we think?

Dark millenium is looking very nice, i must say, very GRIMDARK! and we apparently have vehicles in it as well.

Space Marine looks fun and all, but where are the fucking Eldar in Dark Millennium? I want to be a jousting elf on a jetbike.

We were promised Chaos, orks, eldar and imperium a as starters so im assuming they are somewhere. Graphics look much better than i was expecting for both games as well.

Orkses are made for winnin! It looks like an intereasting concept, but I have never been big on MMO's or space marines. Lets hope these do well and then my armies can get a game. I also didn't see any sisters or dark eldar, IG only got 5 seconds of video. Lets see how GW does in the videogame world.

I'm absolutely going to give Dark Millenium a try. Just because I want to be a SPESS MEHREN.

Hm, W40k is pretty much the only IP that'd make me consider playing an MMO. (That sentence had a lot of abbreviations.) I don't think it will, though.

Almost looks like you can command squads in the MMO, which actually would be pretty cool. They both look neat but its tough to tell from like 1:30 clip.

At least we got a decent look at the gameplay and the GUI from the MMO trailer, I think that very little of Space marine was gameplay.

Agreed, having a squad as your character would allow the various factions to be represented. Who'd be a Guardsman if you can be a Spess Marine, but if you can be 10 Guardsmen on the other hand... Not to mention the fact that it would be a clear way to differentiate it from the bazillion other MMOs out there.

a few thoughts:

A game that advertises itself with the words 'grim dark'...no. Just no. Whoever thought that was a good idea, ought to be fired.

I wonder how they manage to balance out the casualty ratio of Imperial Guard, in their Paper armor and Imperial Flashlights, in comparison to ceramite power-armor protected, genetically engineered supersoldiers. Because either they need to stay in-genre and accept that any imperial guard player will die 20-25x that of any other player and compensate for it, or somehow come up with a reason why the IG player suddenly, in contrast with the genre, dies at the same ratio as the super-soldier despite the humongous inherent power difference.

Hate to say this, but Space Marine will likely be just yet another mediocre game riding on a known title. I hope I am wrong, but that is what I'm expecting.

As for Dark Millenium: how will it, besides from the inherent setting, be different from any other brown-mildew mass MMPORPG we have by the dozens. As in, what will make it so different and new and unique, that no reviewer or critic can start their article with the words "It's just like World of Warcraft, but...". because let's be honest here, what is the difference between chugging a frag grenade, and launching a fireball? Graphics, and that's it. And if graphics will be the only fundamental difference, then we will have a disappointment in our hands.

I much prefer the idea of playing as a Space Marine than building, painting and rolling to hit with a squad of them. I will watch these intently.

Better Space marine gameplay has been shown in the past.

Those words, probably more than anything else short of Space Marine, Are Warhammer 40K.

The WH40k tagline may have it, but the overall use to describe pretty much anything ranging from punk music to Twilight, means it has serious negative connotations to overcome, from a marketing perspective.

Several alternatives come to mind "desolate and hopeless", "war-torn and bloodied", "After millenia of unending war", "In the macabre, bleak future of mankind"

or something else. Those I came up with in just a few minutes. A marketing department should in a week come up with something far, far better.

Stupid, stupid, stupid Marines game...no PC version...GREAT! Thank you, oh don't bother, with a port, it's not like we need it or anything.

DM is an MMO...sigh...c'mon people, lets all play a generic WoW GUI'ified game.

FOR BLOODY PETE'S SAKE! I hope every single person who plays those games ends up burning in hell, even if they did save kittens from an inferno.
Yes, embrace the dark side. Let your hate become a weapon. By that I mean your post was very angry :D

I think Space Marines might be good, but I can't help but feel that it will end up being bland and boring, just a ork shooting gallery rather than a challenging game with intelligent AI. If i'm proved wrong this might just be a game to look out for.
