Hmm...
*Force Choke*
The Force wins.
Forve choke is only good against individual targets. Space marines dont roll that way. You try to choke one, you get shot by the other. If you try to force choke a liberarian then your head is going to explode. Force choke a psyker, and your just asking for trouble. Force choke is useless in this situation.

There is damn near no basis for comparison here. Every single thing (and I mean EVERYTHING) in the 40k universe is so overpowered that basic troops could just run out into battle and just step on everything and win.

You can only compare 40k, with 40k.

Stats wise, some Warhammer fantasy battles armies, specifically those with a strong emphasis on MAGIC beat a similar level of 40k points for points. Of course this is so silly it barely merits mention, but its funny. Had a few hilarious crossover games. Lizardmen, High Elves and Dark Elves or Tzeench chaos with a ton of magic tend to beat most 40k forces. Empire, Orcs and Goblins, Skaven and anything relying on massed regiments of infantry tends to get beaten.

Emperor 1 - Feeble old man with lighting powers has command of millions retarded soldiers who can't shoot for shit (except the 501st company)

Emperor 2 - Sits on a golden throne, has the power to melt peoples minds and commands the space marines a bunch of hardcore troopers who can shoot and lets not forget the black templars!

Sure lightsabers can deflect laser bolts, but explosive rounds from a bolter at rapid fire? Didnt think so.
FOR THE EMPEROR!! (the 40k one)

You, my well worded freind, deserve a cookie of epic proportions.
Umm one problem the races of 40k would probably rather ally with SW than with each other.
What about all the aliens in star wars that would be "cleansed" before you can say "bolt gun"

Though I am personally more of a Star Wars fan (and by fan I mean I'm sold on it) I think the 40k one would win, mostly because of the technology used, the Star Wars one is pretty basic, while the 40k one has all sorts of crazy stuff. But you also need to take into consideration of what point in the timeline the Star Wars universe is. In the pre-Clone Wars era the galaxy had no army to fight for it, apart from local guard and militia. A while after it ended the Galaxy was at civil war again. But somewhere in between I imagine it was pretty strong ad united still with a huge army of clones leftover, the 40k universe is constantly at war between crazy many races, it would never be able to rally in the same way as the Star Wars galaxy would.

Then of course there are all the novels that I haven't read, so I can't speak for those.

The Tau would likly ally with them/conquor them. Now THAT would be interesting.

"For the greater good!"
"For the force!"
"Wait what? Get them lads!"
Tau win

if you are talking the whole of 40k im assuming you can use all of SW too (extended universe)?
Also, id guess that all orks are weak minded and most tyranids too. So in essense force masters can control their every action.
For the record, the SW Emperor actually infuences the actions of every imperial person. Its why he gets so withered, from constant and exessive use of the force.

Also star wars has grand admiral Thrawn as a strategist, whereas W40k has sweaty people who wear too much black and hold red plastic sticks to work their strategy :S

But in the extended Star wars universe all the good stuff gest trashed anyway - such as the star forge. And i doubt Thrawn could do much agaisnt pretty much any race in 40k. The tyranids have ships that eat other ships for cristssake.

ok, but the whole "moral" of star wars is that technology cannot overcome the force. so anything in the 40k universe that has a mind has the possiblity of being susceptible to the force.
so 1 person in SW, palapatine, was controlling the entire Empire. which to me means that if every forcewielder was united; 40k would effectively be fighting themselves.

also the point about everything being "trashed" in the EU of SW: i didnt realise there is a specific point in time when this "battle" would take place, as people previously have mentioned horus and stuff, people who are dead...

Star Wars fanatic in me says: does 40K have a tactical genius to rival Grand Admiral Thrawn or a weapons plant to rival the star forge?
Yes and Yes

Commisarr Creed, he somehow stopped one of the Biggest WAAAAAGH!!s which was heraled by the baddest Orks ever with 'only' several billion men and a small solar system of tanks...and thats a general being careful with his resources :D

2nd one: Mars. Thats all I have to say about that
You are thinking of Commisark Yarik, Creed (as in Lord Castellean) is part of the Cadian IG.
Oh, I always get those 2 confused :( Yarrik was the one who duel Ghazgull am I right?

now now now, lets not just make shit up whole sale.

Emp 2 doesnt 'melt peoples minds' nor does he actualy command the space marines. hes kinda a lump of cells that the rest of the imperium think is god. taken from http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Categories (great sight if you want some back details of what 40K is all about)

"Physically, the enthroned Emperor of Mankind is a ravaged corpse. The last surviving cells in his shattered body are sustained by the Golden Throne, providing an anchor for the Emperor's spirit, which extends across the entire Imperium. While his body is sustained, his will endures.2

His existence is said to be an unending torment, with his every thought enslaved to the task of ruling, guiding and protecting his race. Ultimately it is only his will to endure that allows him to survive, as he knows his death would lead to the destruction of the Imperium and leave mankind without the guidance it needs to survive."

so pretty much all that would have to happen is for the death star too pop earth and thats it , game over. or even a sneaky Jedi/sith simply wander into the throne room and unplug his chair *pop* and the entire imperium falls into even worse chaos

No fleet in the whole entire history of Star Wars would EVER penetrate Terra, it is guarded by thousands of space stations that rival the Deathstars size with weapons that could atomise it before it even got the chance to fire coupled with the thousands of massive battleships that indiviually outclass the Superstar Destroyer. Wouldnt happen.
