Watching games being played.

Has there ever been a time or a game that you never really wanted to play yourself, but when your friend was playing it you got really involved in watching it like a movie almost. i have to admit that i personally enjoy watching some games being played, especially Long RPG/Adventure games, especially when the person playing is REALLY good at it. Does anyone else just like to sit back and watch someone else play? and what game(s) were/are they?

I like to watch people who are good at them play RTS games.

The way they memorize all of those hotkeys just astounds me.

Heavy Rain, I watched my Suite-mate play it for hours and had no urge to play it myself.

Not me, but once my friend was once watching me play Fallout 3, he said he just wanted to watch. He spent most of the time saying how awesome my V.A.T.S kill sequences were.

I only do that if a certain game has yet to capture my interest and once i watch a person play it a few times i makes me want to try it for myself

It depends what's being played, but I can watch other people play. Usually its just FPS's, but I can also stand beat 'em ups and some racing games if I'm in the right mood...

It completely depends on the game.

I absolutely cannot stand the gameplay of GoW3, but it's epic watching other people play it, so I enjoy that.

I prefer playing obviously, but I don't mind watching. As someone previously mentioned, I enjoy watching skilled gamers play RTS's, and I especially enjoy watching people play survival horror games.

I like watching people play games like Heavy Rain and God of War. It's just as fun as playing them sometimes.

i'm the youngest in my family, and i've been watching people play video games for a lot of my life, so its just more convenient that i enjoy it.

Im the only person in my house that plays games (actualy my sister has picked up a few games and played, i dont know weather to be happy or afraid yet) so i got used to playing instead of watching. Whenever i do watch for whatever reason i always go crazy trying to help whoever is playing navigate a puzzle or boss fight and they can never follow simple instructions.

i hate watching people on guitar hero/rock band, because most of the time they suck, and it's irritating watching them fail when i know i'm a lot better

My buddy enjoys watching people play games he hasn't played yet. Weird. I don't mind at all, especially when there is a ton of flashy shiny bits that just dist.... Ooooooohhhhhhhh

I typically don't like watching people play unless there doing comentary on the game or adding something else to the experience.

I like watching some games, ones I specifically hate are FPSes and rhythm games. Watching stuff like Crash Bandicoot or RTSes is alot awesomer.

I rarely watch people play without wanting to just punch the person in the jaw, and steal their controller whilst playing on their unconscious body.
