I always try to abuse the character customization feature. I see normal people all the time, and I think it's somewhat refreshing for everyone to be heralding the ugliest mother fucker in existence as a hero.

Jesus, generally. Or as close as I can get. Some of the games don't really have Jesus' hair or beard, which is a tad disappointing. I suppose grizzled space marines aren't meant to be sporting a gigantic beard.

I've also got Professor Jesus as my rockband character. He's dressed like a washed up professor in his dark green suit with patches on the elbows, but with Jesus' (facial) hair. And a badass guitar. That too.

Well colour me impressed. Playing as jesus would be more fun if I were being evil though, I think, but that might just be me.

There was a KotOR2 face/head set for males which looked a bit like Jesus. There are numerous tales of him running through the game as both Jedi Jesus (alliteration woo) and Darth Jesus. He's obviously no stranger to giving in to his baser emotions and going on a killing spree.

Surely making a female character is a sign of heterosexuality, as you're staring at a female ass for the entire game rather than a male one. Admittedly they're pixellated asses, but the point is that wanting to stare at a female ass rather than a male one isn't terribly gay.

What I'm trying to convey in polite terms is I think your above statements are quite simply smacktarded.

There is no need for that. Does it mean anything if I play as a male character? I doubt it. You're opinion is rather outdated. It isn't real, playing as a girl doesn't mean you want to be one. But anyhow, I never thought of it as cool to be the one who killed or conquered whatever, I know I did it. I was there.

While I don't play female characters often, and I know this is going to just be reiterating things, which would you prefer looking at? Rough, hard, hairy male butt or deliciously round female booty for the next 20+ hours? See, I've totally just proven how much of a gay nancy pants you are.

Which, given I so rarely play female characters, perhaps says something about me as well. Hrm.

Well, in my defense, if I'm going to go through a game with 40+ hours of gameplay, I'm at least going to make a character I don't mind looking at.

I agree wholeheartedly, he sounds like one of those people who used to assume being friends with girls was also gay. Then he went off to manhandle other similarly minded boys in a muddy field whilst a ball was thrown around.

My characters when there are character creation menus, despite me being male, always come out as cute anime females (because i'm pretty unattractive and so making people look like me would sorta be a strange idea) however despite having never seen it myself i have to say watching myself die onscreen would probably be either a.) weird, or b.) kinda cool because being devoured by a supermutant is probably a cooler looking death than anything i can imagine.

I just pick a preset face, maybe mess with the age slider a bit.(if possible, I try to go for something that's between "jRPG" and "FPS" age)
I want to create characters based on me, but I'm OCD and the last time I tried to make a character that looked like me, I spent 9 hours in the character creation screen and still wasn't happy with what I managed to create.(doesn't help this was in Oblivion, where the two character creation places don't have the best lighting and often a character gets these horrible spots on it's face/hands)

I disliked that about oblivion aswell. I'd make them look really good in the character creation, then when they got out of it they'd have really pasty skin.

Anyway, I usually try to make the character resemble me if I make a male. For example, my first oblivion resembled me bar from the hair, a few facial features and his muscular figure. I try to do my best, but usually only end up with a resemblance because very few games have my hairstyle/ facial hairstyle and my hair essentially makes me. I tend to make more female characters because I'd rather be watching a nice pretty lady whilst playing my games.

However, I dont seem to get emotioanlly attached to these characters, except my Oblivon character. I got really immersed in that game and grew attached to several of the npc's. I felt slightly upset when some of them died in the main quest, and generally missed seeing them around. I can't comment on seeing them die many times though, as that file was almost perfect and I died about twice.

Thus pirates are superior. Plus Ninjas have to be all "I'm silent and stealthy" whereas pirates would dash into an enemy lair, mug of ale clutched in one hand and cutlass in the other bellowing a sea shanty at the top of his lungs.

And he'd still win, because he's a Pirate.

I can see that being pretty popular. I'd play it. Adding cyborgs and jesus to the mix, got to be a winning formula.

I try to cover my characters head in the most concealing helmet I can find, as well as the most bad-ass armour until he resembles a walking tank with little or no distinguishing features.

Before helmeting I give him a very rough representation of me, just basic hair, eye, gender, height.

I identify with you, I love having my characters wear masks or helmets.

As for the OP's questions.

I feel a connection for characters that are unique, clones, however, I don't care for.
