Thread title: WBC Pickets my High School

I don't actually go to this school (I'm in private school), but if I was in the public school system, this is where I'd be going.

So they didn't picket your school at all.

Perhaps WBC Pickets School in my Area would have been a more appropriate title.

It's the CIA's guide for Nicaraguan revolutionaries.
Some of this stuff applies to hindering protests.
Try to invite a local LGBT group to counter protest, or unknowingly schedule an event. Anything to make sure that the WBC people end up starting a fight. Spread rumors about the involvement of Right Wing Groups like the Neo Nazis, using social media and anonymous tips to the local news. Create some disorganization and panic among the angels in waiting in order to create a hole in the perimeter that would cause a fight to break out.
The goal is to further discredit, demonize, and disorganize in order to paint the WBC as violent and force to cause an incident.

We've all known they're crazy, but usually they've had some sort of a reason for their protests, however twisted they may be. This time, however, I don't see one.

I don't actually go to this school (I'm in private school), but if I was in the public school system, this is where I'd be going. The school hasn't done anything as far as I've heard. The worst part is that it's located right next to the main entrance of the Universal Studios theme parks. This could possibly cause a bad reputation for the parks to be spread, putting a dent in our tourism-driven economy. I don't see the rationale behind this. Thoughts?

EDIT: Well, they've apparently got a few other protests coming up in my city, as well as in Florida. They're headed to the Kennedy Space Center (?), and I heard on an anti-WBC site that they're also headed to Bishop Moore High, which is a Catholic school.

Hey, it's still a part of my community. I know kids that go there, so it's still, in a sense, mine.

i hate it when people say that, no pun intended. its one of those holier than thou things that people usually use to seem more intelligent. i'd be nicer if they hadn't done the same damn thing to so many people, with children present. "mommy, does god hate daddy?" imagine the number of times thats been asked because of these people. i dont think there are many punishments too good for them, and a beat down is on the easy end of the spectrum of what they deserve.

A single passage from the most morally reprehensible book in the old testament is no justification for hate. I don't care what they think.

Was there some sort of scandal involving students or teachers that you might not know about. They mention something about teaching or not teaching in your link, maybe they decided to not teach creationism or something else religion related? I'm just taking some wild guesses here.

What subject in school would you teach creationism anyway?

Social studies. Science teaches evolution, but eighth grade social studies has an entire unit devoted to creation stories. It's devoted to Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity and whatever you would call the Mayans. I just wish they'd teach a more diverse selection as well as more that still exist today.
