alright, I want to get one thing straight.
[HEADING=1]These people in no way represent the Christian faith. Thank you.[/HEADING]
I'm a Christian myself and think that these people are absolutely horrible.
Alright, preaching time. No, I'm not gonna convert you, but it is necessary to rebuke these morons at WBC.
God is all-forgiving. He is not an accountant, writing down your every sin and planning retribution accordingly. He is a father, and will welcome you in with open arms, even if you only show the smallest sorrow. Here's a quote to counter their quote:
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16), arguably the most well known passage in the entire bible. Do you really think a God, who gave his only, eternal Son, who is a part of him, up to death only to damn mankind? No! He did this so we might be saved!
Here's another one:
"Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints,
and give thanks to his holy name.
For his anger is but for a moment,
and his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may tarry for the night,
but joy comes with the morning."
(Psalm 30: 4-5)
And here's his quote, in direct opposition of this:
"You can't preach the Bible without preaching the hatred of God." Yeah. No.
If Christ forgave the sins of a murderer, theif, and general criminal, who was on the road to death, don't you think he would forgive you or me or Ronnie? the criminal merely asked, "Lord, remember me, when you come into your kingdom." Christ turned to him and said, "Today, you will be with me in Paradise."
No flames, no eternal suffering in hell, Paradise.
Fred Phelps' mutterings seem a little off now, eh?
Thank you for lending me your valuable time, so I might be able to right some of this man's wrongs.
Also, here's one last quote, just for Phelps.
"But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ?You fool!? will be liable to the hell of fire."
?Matthew 5:22
