WBC to picket funeral of Ronnie James Dio

Yup. WBC is famous for this kind of stuff. They picket many a funerals, protest everthing about homosexuality, say that God hates Homosexuals, Jews, Muslims, and even other Christians that they don't agree with, which is a fair amount of them.

I pride myself on being open-minded and tolerant of other people's religions, but the WBC is nothing more than a hate group that borderlines cultism. I mean, I'm all for free speech, but what they do is just rude and cruel.

They will get what's coming to them sooner or later.

I'm usually pretty tolerant of protests, but I kind of just draw line here. Protesting at funerals is pretty messed up. I hear about the funerals of war vets being protested all the time.

These people are not Christians, the simply use the facade of Chistian wholesomeness in order to get their hideous bigotry heard. I am sure that the Bible would condemn many if not all of their actions. I am normally very tolerant of Religion, despite not subscribing to one myself, but this is just horrific. The best thing we can do to make sure these miserable excuses for human beings are never, ever taken seriously is to simply ignore them, then they will wither away and die.

If I could, I would. I try though. Not in cases as extreme as that, as I don't meet those sorts of people, but when I see people doing bad things, I do tell them. Often times just being told is enough for them to stop, at least for a short period...

I would not picket the funeral of my worst enemy. I would see Phelps hanged if I could, but I wouldn't even picket his funeral. Let the family of the dead mourn in peace.

I hate the WBC with all my heart for their bigotry and their methods. Sometimes hearing about them makes me reconsider the merits of freedom of speech.

Tonight on CNN:

"A violent riot broke out at the funeral of heavy metal icon Ronnie James Dio, when a group of protesters from the westboro baptist church, well known for picketing funerals and other events with hateful slogans such as "God Hates Fags" or "Thank God for 9/11", arrived at the funeral and began shouting hateful words at the grieving family and friends.

The protest group was immediately assaulted by hundreds of enraged Dio and Black sabbath fans. Vicious fighting occurred, and many protesters were killed or injured. Fred Phelps, the pastor of the church was decapitated, and his head was stuck a pike, with the word "asshole" etched into his forehead by a knife. The dead and dying members of the westboro baptist church, we then urinated on and curb stomped.

When the police arrived at the scene, the assessed it and began to congratulate and shake hands with the funeral goers, after the funeral, a massive party occurred, as people of all ages, races and backgrounds got drunk and blasted metal music throughout the city.

The police have stated that no charges will be pressed, and Michael Richardson, the man who killed Fred Phelps, will be given several medals, a banquet in his honor and the key to the city. As for the bodies of the westboro baptist church, they were arranged into a giant pentagram, and set on fire.

Wouldn't disrupting a funeral be a huge disrespect to their own faith? I'm sure most people, thiests or athiests, would consider a time of mourning a time to put personal differences aside. This is just so terrible and disgusting that a church of all things would disrupt one of the most sacred things in religion just to put down Dio.

I hope they all get punched out by outraged fans, after all, they are metal fans. Man, I was going to write something so terrible about these guys but I'm just too speechless to write more than this.

its not really that big of an accomplishment. those idiots protest everything that will get them noticed. they are absolutely the worst kind of people. they claim themselves great christians when thier whole belief system goes completely against the christian god. god is supposed to love everyone regardless of thier sins - not hate because of sins.
