The congregation is made up mostly of pastor Fred Phelps and his family. The pastor has 13 children, and at least 54 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He described himself as an "old-time" gospel preacher in a CNN interview in 2006, saying, "You can't preach the Bible without preaching the hatred of God."

I find that statement utterly appalling. It's the words of someone who is completely twisting the actual intent of the Bible to suit his own hateful, bigoted view of the world. Last time I read the Bible (which was a few years ago, I admit...) God was supposed to be a merciful, loving God. So what if Dio pioneered the 'devil horns' gesture? He still brought joy, or at least some sorts of positive emotions to his millions of fans.

Amen to that. I realize they are doing this to spread their message, but it also says in the Bible that God's disciples shouldn't shove their message down the throats of people.

I've got a way to deal with this. It'll be a splash.

Step 1: Go to funeral (bring friends, boom boxes, cameras, and Tomboy single's)
Step 2: Wait until the WBC shows up and starts picketing.
Step 3: From inside the crowd, raise boom box above head (after inserting CD) and get attention (sonic feedback should do nicely, if you can create it). You may want to set it to a specific track.
Step 4: Tell your buddy to turn on the camera.
Step 5: Shout "1, 2, 1-2-3-4!" and push play.
Step 6: This happens.
Step 7: ????
Step 8: Profit!

Get the word out people; tell everyone you know.

I hope all the metal lovers kill them. No, I don't care if this is something I shouldn't say, but the WBC is the very scum of the Earth. Forget Hitler, forget Stalin, forget Mao, these people are pure evil, but with less power. They don't deserve to live on God's green earth. While the metal fans are on a Dio concert in Heaven, they will be in Hell. (And I will be on an In Flames concert with my family and best friend.)

I'm so glad he got banned from entering the UK when he was planning to picket a play in my hometown.
Fred Phelps is going to die very soon, and it won't be from natural causes. The ground will split apart and he will be swallowed by fire, and the skies will open and all of the soldiers whose funerals he picketed, the men and women he insulted by calling them 'enablers' of some kind (whatever the fuck THAT means), and the groups like 'fags' that he's attacked for no reason will laugh and throw rocks. As he goes, those of us around on the day will rain blows on him, and we'll pick up his wife and family and toss them in with him.


This is coming from an atheist, so you can tell how much I hate the guy.
