This just seems downright disrespectful in every aspect. They actually plan on having a religious protest, making specific note that the person in question IS in hell, and now they're going to rub that "fact" in his loved one's noses?

THIS is the side of religion that I hate. THIS is the kind of shit that drove me to atheism. Every religious person I know is sensible, reasonable and usually have a decent amount of common sense. How depressing. How do religious groups like this get away with hateful speech and other acts against society? It's not even productive, it's counter-productive. It's another source of stress in a world already filled with stress. One that could easily be prevented by alterations to the law. Sure you can't ban these guys, just because of the freedom of speech claim, but you can stop their tax cut for causing continuing public disturbance.

While picketing a funeral is disrespectful, you have to remember that these people are bigoted idiots with no grasp on reality. Therefore all events outside their own narrow minded beliefs are irrelevant to them and they are right to do this. That is how most bigoted extreme religious types act. There's no "live and let live" with these people, if they want to do it, then they probably will and feel themselves to be justified in doing so.
