OoC: @Ven when you look at those numbers, the manuver that Keyes did to destroy three ships with one destroyer is that much more impressive.

OOC: @Kirke considering everyone elses tactic seems to be head on attacks. Even Admiral Cole just tried to slug it out with the Covenant before The Cole Protocol was implemented. What can you do with assault rifles against an alien empire that can glass planets? Which is why I really didn't like Halo Wars, the game was average but they butchered so much of what made Halo what it is. No energy shields on Elites and they were crap, Covenant in general didn't feel like they should be a threat in that game since for some reason all the UNSC stuff is apparently better when it wasn't, the Monsters cutscene (While awesome) just annoys me(What kind of Arbiter would bring an Honour Guard of Elites with just spears and no shields against Spartans?)

OoC: @Ven Well admiral Cole did take out an entire fleet with one ship... At. The battle of reach, repair stations were used to soak up the first salvo of plasma torpedoes.

OOC: @Kirke I've never read the books. Played everygame, read Genesis, watched Legends, read Halsey's Journal but I really wanted to read 'Ghosts of Onyx'

@Ven In my opinion Fall of Reach is the best book. Ghosts of Onyx was pretty meh.

OOC: @Kirke Halo 4 is on Onyx though isn't it? Onyx is a shield world and from what I've seen of Halo 4 and the Forerunner constructs it definetly looks like a Shield World. Just remembered I read Midnight in the Heart of the Midlothian (Or something similar) and another comic about an Elite Commander returning to a planet he'd glassed after the war.

OoC: @Ven Not sure if it's on Onyx, though it could be. Honestly I'm not sure about the quality of halo 4, since Bungie isn't making it. Fall of Reach is just a package of lore though. From the beginning of the Spartan project to the discovery of the first halo.

OOC: Anyway time for some in character stuff.

Katelliana looks over the other two rangers. They were sat around a fire, a stark flashback to a distant primitive time. All three were cut and ragged with ruined long cloaks and scratched armour beneath. They would have to wait to be returned.

Xanis took a ship, a sleek cruiser and aboard it were several Guardians with their support platforms....and also a squad of Aspect Warriors. Dire Avengers of the Shrine of The Vaulted Sword. The Infinity Circuit of the ship darkened around the warriors while they attended to the battle preperations should they be needed as the ship travelled through the Webway.

Daniel woke up. He'd been out for awhile again and set off to go hunt.

Garrus watched solemnly as the bodies of the four fighter pilots as well as the marine Tactus were sealed away in stasis pods, ready for the journey home to Palaven after the completion of the mission. Though he regretted their losses, it buoyd his spirits somewhat that every single one of them had died bravely facing the enemy. When they were returned to the homeworld they would be held in the highest regard by their families and peers. As the pods were clamped shut he finally turned away, heading to his quarters to ensure that all necessary preparations were made for the return to the planet's surface.

As the Eldar cruiser emerged from a flickering webway portal, behind the moon, the solar sails tucked away to render the dark ship near invisible in space while Holo-fields disrupted and distorted its faint outline. "Steersman, guide the craft towards this area." Xanis said motioning at a holo-screen. "The dead are above the planet."

Dalis walked over to the bridge, now clear of bodies, and opened a channel to the dreadnaught.
"This is Captain Dalis of th... Formerly of the frigate Cutting Blade. I thank you for your assistance. We wouldn't have survived without it."

OOC: Fun fact @Ven- I picked up the new Nids codex yesterday, and found the exact same quote that you used in it, about the Eldar summoning the dead to their ranks before they had to join those of the dead. Also, are the Eldar cloaked against thermal scanners and whatever other sensory equipment the Turians might have, or just in the visible spectrum?

Garrus took his M-27 Incisor from his own personal weapons locker and laid it on a low table, opening the casing to work on calibrating the concentration module, a VI device that linked in with his visor and calculated the speed and direction in which a target was moving as well as a dozen other variables and automatically micromanaging his aim, augmenting his already formidable marksmanship. As he worked he glanced up at the large white heavy pistol case that he had instructed the marine to prepare. A nagging thought at the back of his mind warned him again of the potential threat posed by the contents, and he scowled almost imperceptibly before focusing on the rifle again.

"You're welcome, Captain." The Helmsman of the Vespasian responded to the message. "I just wish that we could have gotten there sooner. I'm glad to hear that you survived the crash. Any other survivors?"

OoC: @Nail looked it up how? Athena has the maps...
Nailik said:
Gabranth looked at a screen wich showed the map he borrowed from Athena a while ago, having scanned it into the onboard computer of the Atomos.
That's how.

Erica woke up, got dressed, chuckled at Valentine who sat like a rag doll in the chair, then left the ship.

"You'll be glad to hear that lieutenant Maris did as well. Though the rest of the crew died repelling boarders."

OOC: @Berk Its in my Eldar Codex as well. My favourite quote is a speech given by an Autarch in Path of the Warrior. At long range it is invisible. Being made of Wraithbone helps alot with that. Close range the flickering fields may be noticed and its Star Engines might be just visible.

Xanis waited in calm relfection as the cruiser drifted through the void towards the ships identified as the bearers of both a Ranger and the waystones of the dead.

OOC: @Ven I never realised that the Eldar craftworlds were actually giant ships. Am I right in thinking that, or did I just misunderstand the codex?

"I'm sorry. I hear they fought valiantly, and their deaths were something to be proud of. Give my regards to Lieutenant Maris then, from one pilot to another."

"I will. Captain Dalis out."
Dalis cut the transmission, then started clearing the engine room.

OOC: @Berk They are giant ships yes. Covered in solar sails and there surface is a plethora of towers, verandas and such. Divided into segments known as domes which are open to the void but have a special force dome over them to provide air and gravity for the Eldar beneath. Liandarin trees with read leaves blossom in valleys and fields in some of these domes. The Eldar are a dying race, having fled the Fall on Craftworlds and now all that survive are the proud remnants of an EMpire that spanned the galaxy.

Erica sat down against the hull of the ship, crosslegged and enjoyed the silence while it lasted.
