The Helmsman slid the comms holo-screen aside and stared out into the endless expanse of stars beyond the translucent blue haze of Earth's atmosphere. He was glad to have the opportunity to see the planet in this relatively unspoiled state. It was as beautiful as Palaven.

Garrus snapped the casing of his rifle shut and folded it up before placing it back in the cabinet and leaving the quarters to go and assemble his team.

OOC: @Berk Found the speech. This is an Eldar Autarch called Arhathain addressing the assembled Exarchs of Craftworld Alaitoc. "We abhor you! We who are free are fearful of you, living reminders of the consequences of weakness and indulgence. Rightfully you are shunned, for your spirits are cursed by Khaine. You are warmongers and murderers. Those of us who have passed along the Path of the Warrior stand absolved of the atrocities we have commited and have found peace. You are trapped, relishing your bloody deeds, glorying in your hatred and rage." (Pause) "But we who are free also need you. Without the Exarchs, we would all be lost. You carry the burdens of our guilt. You stand between our fragile spirits and the degredations of war." (Pause) "This is your time! The humans seek to violate out beautiful homes. They dare to bring war against us? You are our bloody messangers. You are Kaela Mensha Khaine's anointed slayers, our vengeance incarnate, our anger given form. You are merciless and rightly so. Our survival depends on the unthinking doing the unthinkable. Feel now the pulse of throbbing through your veins. We who are free, we feel it also but it is but a cold trickle in our veins compared to the white heat of its ferocity in your hearts. The Avatar awakens. Feel his call. Take to him what he needs." (He then faces another Exarch who had just entered the room bearing the weapon of the Avater} "Behold the Young King! Your gift to Khaine in return for the awakening of the Avater."
I just got shiverx when I read this part and I started about half way throu as well.

OOC: @Ven...Inspiring stuff?

Garrus steped out into CIC of the Dreadnought, just as Javik passed. The Prothean's eyes narrowed.
"Prefect." He acknowledged Garrus coldly, not looking at him.
"Javik. Where are Saressa and Kragg?" Garrus asked, also not bothering to make eye contact.
"Already in the hangar."

Xanis turned around to the Steersman. "Lock on all Pulsars and the Plasma Battery. Prepare to guide our warriors aboard." He turned into the comm-prism and focussed onto the Turian vessel. "We come for what is ours. Return our dead or be destroyed."

"What in the..." The Helmsman muttered on hearing the blunt, unexpected message. Only then did he notice the distortion surrounding the Eldar hull and the points of light from its engines. He stiffened in his chair.
"Shit! Unidentified craft off the bow! All hands prepare for assault!" He whipped the comms holo-screen back over and spoke quickly and harshly.
"Unidentified craft, this is the Turian Dreadnought Vespasian. Please identify yourselves." As he broadcast the message, Garrus came running to the helm.
"What the hell happened?" He barked.
"A cloaked ship Sir. It didn't show up on any scanners." He relayed the Eldar's demands, and Garrus nodded.
"Stay calm. Don't do anything rash, and oblige them within reason. I think we might be able to resolve this peacefully." He turned and rushed back to his quarters.

In the Med-bay of Four's ship, AEanna moaned and stirred in her sleep, but din't wake yet.

"We are Eldar of the Craftworld Alaitoc, we are coming aboard." He wheeled away from the prism to join the Guardians. He chuckled slightly at the suprising stupidity of the ship. Why would he threatan to destroy a ship when it had waystones aboard? He joined the Guardians, a floating grav platform flaoted beside them with a Scatter Laser mounted on it. They nodded to the Spiritseer before he glanced at the Dire Avengers behind them. Their Exarch, with elaborate helm of white and gold, body armour coloured blue and a sleek Diresword held in his hand, stood at the head of his 9 Aspect Warriors. They stood resoulutely still, their weapons held ready, long Avenger Shuriken Catapults with a greater range than standard Shurkien Catapults used by Guardians. "Follow afterwards." He instructed the Exarch before turning to face the growing Webway portal.

OOC: Dire Avenger Aspect Warriors, representing the incarnation of Khaine as a noble warrior.

The Turian marines hustled to the hangar door of the Vespasian hastily seizing Avenger and Vindicator assault rifles and levelling them at the door. Kragg pushed his way roughly through the ranks.
"Move it! Out of the way! I've waited long enough to actually shoot someone in this imension!" He levelled his Graal at the door.

In his quarters, Garrus seized the heavy pistol case and hurried back out of the door.

The Webway portal opened before the Marines. Xanis closed his eyes. "Change of plans. Exarch, lead your squad aboard first." The Exarch nodded. He stepped forward, warriors following in time with his steps while he held his Diresword in front of his helmed head. The Dire Avengers entered the the portal and the portal before the Marines shimmered and the Aspect Warriors emerged.

EDIT: Never mind, misread the post.

The Turians held firm as the Webway expanded directly in front of them, rifles at the ready. Kragg stepped forward and began to speak, but then Saressa hurried out of the ranks and grabbed his shoulder.
"Don't even think about it." She warned, before turning to face the Eldar.
"The Prefect of the fleet will be here shortly." She assured them.

The Dire Avengers raised their weapons as one and after that remained completely still. Xanis now entered at the head of the 10 Guardians.

Kragg growled and raised his shotgun to mirror the actions of the Dire Avengers, and the Turians did the same. Saressa gulped and stepped aside from Kragg slightly, freeing up some space to use her biotics. At that moment, Garrus arrived in the hangar flanked by two marines and strode past the ranks of his troops, standing before the Eldar.
"I hoped you would show restraint in coming to resolve this issue." He said, remaining stoic in the face of the bristling Eldar weaponry. "You came for the crystals from your fallen allies, right?"

OOC: I prefer Javik's voice myself.

The Dire Avengers returned their weapons to an idle postion and stood aside, allowing Xanis to walk past, Singing Spear crackling and whining in his grip. He saw something from a previous life on the Turians face, a memory half remembered from his time as a Warlock. "Bloodshed is unnecassary. We come for the Waystones you possess and for the Ranger aboard."

Garrus's mandibles twitched at the sight of the Eldar commander, but didn't say anything about it.
[sub]"That's what they were called?[/sub] I have the stones here. We would have left them, but the situation on your derelict ship was deteriorating fast. As for the Ranger, he's in the Medical bay, but he hasn't regained consciousness. We treated his wounds, but our medical officers are stumped as to why he can't be woken." As he spoke, he held out the pistol case and opened the lid, revealing the crystals nestled in the padding inside.

Xanis raised a hand, the waystones lifting into the air and back to him before they orbited gently around him, glowing brighter in the presance of the Spiritseer. "My thanks and the thanks of Alaitoc." He spoke absently as he continued to glance from stone to stone in communion with the dead within. They talked of pain they remembered could not feel, some called for their body back while others wailed in lamentaion that they were dead. Such as it was with the young, expunged of physicality so early in life. The waystones continued to glow bright as they hovered gently into an open pouch which Xanis then closed. Returning his look to Garrus he spoke again. "The Ranger is wounded of spirit, it is simple enough for the younger races to shrug off a wound but they have no awareness of the spirit. An Eldar can feel sting of a wound across his very soul. The Tress of Isha will allow him to confront his fear and should he destroy it he will live." He then waited to see if the Eldar would be brought to him. As a Spiritseer Xanis was infinetly more calm than he was as a Warlock. No longer was he a true Warrior-seer but a guide, a guide for the dead he failed. He decided to take this Path after events a long time ago so that he could never let the dead down again.

Garrus listened sceptically as Xanis spoke, his pragmatic nature at odds with the spirituality of the Eldar. Saressa was the only one of the gathering who seemed to understand fully.
"Well, it sounds like your people have a better chance of helping him than we do." Garrus said to Xanis when he had finished. "I'll have him brought to you. He's stable enough to move safely."

"Very well. There is one more thing however. An urgent matter that requires your assistance." Beneath his helmet he closed his eyes once more. "Ah...you fought off a Tyranid Prime...a brood of Hormagaunts." He opened his eyes. "My purpose here is two-fold. To recover the injured and the dead and offer an audience with Eldrad Ulthran, the chief Farseer of my Craftworld. Ulthwe." He grew stern. "The creature you fought was but the start, the Hive Fleet draws towards this solar system, brought to this place by a Warp Storm. The Tyranids will strip the life from this world and many others unless they are stopped. Eldrad has seen it. He requires aid however, the threads of many distant individualls tie strongly to events that shall unfold."

Dalis ad gone through the soldiers and technicians who had died defending the generator. He then came to Dio, but there his HUD showed life signs, though weak. Dio's heart attack had been fatal, but he was comatose and the armour had sealed around the sword, with medical foam filling his chest cavity to stop the bleeding. Dalis opened a Channel to the dreadnaught.
"This is captain Dalis, I've found one of my crew alive! He is comatose and in dire need of a medic!"
