"Luca Blight? Weakness? Surely this is a joke? That man has no weakness. He's a monster. A beast. Trying to find some ***** in his armor is pointless. You simply have to overpower him." Luc replies.

OoC: I have mixed feeling on the idea. One the one hand, it could be fun. On the other, it could be horribly mishandled. Especially with some asspully villains. Like say, Joel. And melee fighters would have a serious disadvantage. I actually want to have Riou and Jowy engage in melee combat, but I can't always do that.
@Nail I'm surprised she's not asking about removing the Rune.

Well, asking people to do fights tactically might end up with a lot of BS calls. Think of it this way: Lord Evilington could send out his troops to get all the heroes outside and just get Sniper and Shannon to pick reasonably everyone off from a mile away. That is a tactically sound plan for the most part, but I don't think anyone would willingly accept something like that to happen.

Another point, some characters are simply not tactical by nature. Are any characters who don't use tactics simply doomed to die quick, meaningless deaths?

Finally, it is stated that you cannot kill a character without the persons permission in the rules. I guess you could get @Silver to change it, but I have always liked that rule. I have always felt that that helps cut down on OPness. Hell, Sniper could be considered OP, considering he could kill just about anyone in the group with relative ease.

OoC @Outis: I agree with you in regard to Trilby's idea though. What's stopping a character from simply shooting everybody in the head afterall.

Yeah, this is what would make Sniper OP. Given that he is a practiced assassin, he could land headshots and kill a lot of people before anyone in the group would reasonably know what was going on.

OoC: @Outis I agree on pretty much everything you just said. I mean Heavy is a big guy with a guy. Tactics are unheard of by him. And like I said, melee fighters would be sitting ducks. And you brought up a good point with Sniper. That's really all anyone would have to do. Set up a Sniper.

Asha hugged Gerry again. "I'm sure we will."

"Yeah yeah, still better to not take that risk though. Better that they, and everyone else, thinks I'm just some regular woman." Shannon said to Sniper.

"Well isn't that just dandy..." Erica remarked, then sighed. "It was worth a shot I guess.
So, back to the subject of my Rune. Why is it that even when I'm commanding it to unleash its power, all I get is a flimsy gust?
Is it maybe because I don't know what it's capable of?" She asked.

OoC: @Salty: She heard that should that happen, the Rune would simply move to somebody else. She wouldn't want that unless she was absolutely certain the Rune is out of her control.

Gerry snuggled close to Asha and nodded. "[sub]Yeah...How are you feeling? Has that...curse been affecting you at all?[/sub]" he asked hesitantly.

Or even better, just toss in a giant nuke or some kind of equivalent exploding thing. Would totally get the majority of people, especially if it was a surprise.

"That's..." Riou couldn't even finish that sentence. He was actually really worried about Rose, now.

"Perhaps. I suppose you can't command a True Rune, if you haven't even seen what a basic Rune could do." Luc said, and thought. "I suppose I could show you something of that."
He walked over to her and placed his hand on her forehead. She was shown images of Luc using the Rune to decimate Harmonian forces, in the Dunan Unification War. As well as using it in battle against armored knights, lizards, a young man, a female knight, and a middle aged man with an eye patch, and many others.

OoC: I'm not totally against it, but since most fights against villains will have the villain ready to escape at any moment because those plots require their survival, suddenly villains have plot armor and our people don't and will certainly be whittled away. It's a sudden loss of balance, to the other extreme. So, yeah, it's a delicate balance.

Erica stumbled back when she saw the power of the Rune flash through her mind. "That's... That's...
How am I suposed to control power on such a scale? I'd kill everyone!" She said once she remained her composure.

"I've...been trying to keep my mind off of it." Asha said as she started rubbing her neck. "It still feels the same though..." She said, rather gloomily.

"Yeah, so that pretty much just makes me a great big hypocrite then, doesn't it?" Rose said, kicking at the ground a little.

Shannon sighed and tugged at her ears gently. "Sometimes I wish I didn't have these things any more."

Gerry started to tear up a bit as he hugged Asha around her neck and started kissing at her neck.

That's another good way to put it. I think things are fine as is. I really feel that the villains are threatening enough as is.

"No... No... I don't think so. I..." Riou hugs Rose, feeling quite protective of her. "It's okay."

OoC: @Outis I'd say that some things tend to trivialize them. I mean capturing Mu-12 all of a day after Regulus captured her, made the whole event seem pointless and took away all concept that it was a big deal to me. So, I see some value in it. For all of Regulus's trolling, he hasn't accomplished much.

"Didn't know you did. But I can see why..." Erica said, then ran after Luc. "Hey, wait a sec! How do I get out of here?"

Asha started to giggle as Gerry kissed her neck. "Well that makes me feel better!" She said.

"But...I...are...what?" Rose stammered out in confusion as she got a reaction that she wasn't expecting from Riou.

"Well there's no doubt that they come in handy, but they...wait, did you just say that you like my ears?" Shannon said, raising an eyebrow at Sniper.

Riou let go of Rose. "Sorry about that. I just... wanted to protect you."

"The same way you got in, I suppose."" Luc said. "And you should take this vision in. It is what the world will come to look like in the future. Dead, and ruled by Order." As Luc spoke, he disappeared.

I consider that to be a very good thing (Regulus not accomplishing much). I'm going to pull the pin and say it: if it were made so that villains could kill characters whenever they wanted, I would not want to be a part of the RP anymore. It just seems like people would end up constantly changing characters and getting frustrated over the whole thing, plus it could limit/ruin a lot of other things. Like if I wanted to do something with my characters and they end up dying for whatever reason, well I guess I'm just out of luck.

To be honest, I don't want to see the villains succeed. I never have wanted to see them succeed. I'm fairly certain I've never liked a villainous character, and I don't like when good things happen to them.

I think the main thing is @Trilby's idea would turn this whole thing into more of a game than an interactive story, which is what I consider it to be now, and I just don't like that.

OoC @Outis: Villains are a necessity. They propell they story.
Were it not for the villains, it'd be small talk day in day out. Boring!

OoC: @Outis Like @Nail said. No villains make this a boring story. And I will go ahead and say that they need successes or any threat that the pose is more of a joke. If you don't like any villains, good. You're not supposed to. People always say that they like the Joker, but they mean that they like him as a villain. He makes an interesting story and a foil to Batman. They don't like him as a person. They don't want to drink beers with him and chit chat. They want to see him duke it out with Batman. And if the Joker doesn't have little successes, well what would be the point?
