OOC: @Gear What? What the hell is Zeist?

"Well, how do I explain this... there is a connection between all Immortals, something that draws us into combat with each other. Some unltimate power, known only as the Prize. It is said that this Prize will go to the last of us alive- and there can only be one. Throughout history, we have fought one another, and as our numbers dwindle, the time of the Gathering draws ever closer. The time when the few of us remaining will come together for the final battle. I have survived a long time, and held onto my place in pursuit of the Prize against a number of opponents, but then, I have kept my secret hidden much better than this for most of that time, and I am still young for an Immortal in any case."

Katrina made an exasperated sigh.

"Fine. Years ago when I was just attending the Soulweaver Academy, a local sect of the DragonLords came by looking for fresh recruits. A dragon did hatch for me and I was spirited away to their capital of Dragonsgrasp. A few wars here and there regarding magic and how it nearly destroyed our little blue planet led to people being very weary of magic. An organization known as 'The Rose' sprouted up to exterminate all magic based equipment and magic users. That included the DragonLords." she paused for a second before continuing.

"My brother joined The Rose as revenge for our father during one of the wars, and I lost contact with him over the years. Only 3 months ago when I returned home I found that my mother was slaughtered by The Rose under my brother's orders. Diving deeper into it, I found my friends during my travels also slaughtered by The Rose, under my brother's orders as well."

She took out both axes as they shimmed slightly. "I already destroyed two branches of The Rose back home seeking my brother. I won't stop until I have killed him..." The axes disappeared.

"But... He is still my brother... I have my doubts about killing him, it would result with nothing gained but infamy."

OoC @Gear: Yes. Or to be more precise, the ruins of the Great Wall.

"So... even immortals kill eachother in pursuit of greater power... I can't say I'm suprised." Terra remarked then sighed. "What is the 'Gathering' though?"

"Now while I did not understand most of that, it would seem that I acted correctly. Don't make me regret it, will you?"

"Those 'rose' people were here to take out any magical users...." Crystal paused for a moment. "That must be why they said 'beware the magical people' to us, they must of thought that we were normal humans and tried to warn us.....the bastards...."

OoC: @Berk Trust me, it's not the worst Highlander flick. Not by a longshot.
@Nailik Thanks man. Now, I just have to pick out a colour for speech for my character...

Anyone outside the ships might see a figure coming along what was left of the wall, doing it's best to keep steady and fast on the ancient brickwork.

"Some hunt down the others in direct pursuit of power, others like me try to avoid fighting the others. Unfortunately as more and more of us die, the more those that live are compelled to fight. It isn't very pleasant." Jacques said. "As for the Gathering, well, that is the time when there will be only a few of us left, and the compulsion is so great that we will be drawn to the final battleground like moths to a flame, whether we wish it or not."

OOC: Furi Didn't the first movie already establish that it simply turned the last one mortal, and allowed him to have children?

OoC @Gear: Brown.

"So... in essence, you have no free will?" Terra asked as she tilted her head slightly, looking somewhat saddened.

"Only if you threaten me, then we shouldn't have an issue..." Katrina crossed her arms. She turned to Crystal. "Exactly. They are a bunch of zealous fanatics that would deem anything to be 'magically' and kill whomever it is."

Phoenix tilted her head at the figure coming out of the wall.

OoC: @Nailik ...isn't that kinda sorta racial profiling or something? Giving the coloured character brown speech? Actually, come to think of it, how many non-caucasian characters have there been in this thing? And is there anyone outside the ship, or wherever the characters live?

"That's not right....killing someone based on what they are...it's just....just...SICKENING!" She said angrily, she took off her hat and took a couple of deep breath to calm down. her eyes came across a figure walking next to the ruins of the great wall. "Is that another one of them?" She asked Katrina, pointing at the figure.

OoC @Gear: I suggested it because of her armour, actually. :p As for coloured chars... Just Michael, I believe. Unless there were a few in thread 1. Finally, all the characters are outside, but Terra has her back turned to the wall.

"For now. I avoid my fellow Immortals, and while I do fight, I fight for my own goals. For my God, for my country, and for myself. But in the future, well, who knows? The Gathering may not take place for hundreds of years, or thousands, or even tens of thousands. I may be found and killed by one of the others long before then, or I may even be killed accidentally, or by some mortal enemy who happens to get lucky. But if I am among the last, then it is likely that a time will come when the ingrained desire to seek out my brethren foes will be too great to ignore. You may consider that to be a lack of free will of some fashion, yes."

The subject was not a light one, but as they spoke, Jacques appeared to be more at ease, as though telling Terra his secrets was relieving Jacques of a burden, and drawing his mind away from what had happened the other night.
