We Are Our Avatars IX: Act V: The Sabotage of the Scandolous Saurian Scoundrels (Open)

Smelling the janitor moved on, and smalling one of the two people who stood at the cart did the same, the bug climbed down from the ceiling, and slowly opened the door. Poking its head around the corner and seeing the man was facing away, the bug stepped out of the room, sticking its tail stinger behind the doorknob handle to move the door ajar instead of wide open as it left.

Climbing onto a wall, the bug moved up to the ceiling, and carefully slid the drywall place aside, then crawled in the space between the concrete ceiling and the drywall plates, using its tail to slide the plate it moved back into position. It was a tight fit in the space, especially where the bug needed to move around the electronics for the lighting, but it preffered moving around like this to being out in the open.

Knowing where to go, the bug moved between the corridors, crawling upside-down, to the ICU. There, it smelled if no one was around in the hallway, and finding this wasn't the case, it slid the plate it was above away, and climbing down the wall, again using its tail to slide the plate back into position.

It moved to the room Shara was in, and began opening the door.

Sensing the web about to catch you, you know it is time to act. You let the darkness return, but it is quickly replaced by a white and quite empty room. The door is slowly opening. You focus through the pain and try to move your legs, but they refuse to listen to your will. In fact, you feel nothing below your chest. You look around for anything you can use as a makeshift weapon, wiping your brow. You feel a tug in your arm, and look over to see a metal pole with a drip bag hanging on a hook. Putting the pole over you, you take the bag off and raise your new weapon in a defensive guard.

Spoiler: Let's have some mood moosic:

Pulling the doorlatch down, the bug pushed the door open, revealing itself. The bug - that by all accounts could barely be considdered a bug any longer - was a mix of various shades of green and browns in colour, stood on four legs, standing 82cm/2'8ft tall, and being 1.35m/4'5ft long.

It head a largely triangular head that became more rounded near the neck, with two small nostrils located just above the its three-mandibled mouth. Beneath the mouth, the two palps vibrated. Ontop of the head, two relatively small antenna moved back and forth, and inbetween the antenna, was a horn-like potrusion that pointed straight ahead.

It had two thoraxes, a smaller one on which two human-shaped arms were attached, and the main thorax, that had a set of five discoloured spots on the right side, and one larger discoloured stripe that ran vertical on the left. It was largely feline in shape, having a slender but powerful built and an arced back. Here and there, the front of its body was caked in dried blood mixed with sand of various colours.

On its back, there were two long inect wings, and in between its fore and hind legs, were two wings - the only parts of the bug's body that weren't covered in exoskeleton - were covered in short, green feathers. Its tail, swishing behind it as it moved, ended in a bulbous stinger.

With exception of the tail and head, the bug's exoskeleton consisted of a series of overlapping smaller plates that had numerous small but hard brown hairs growing from it, the style of plating alowing greater mobility.

Shara could feel the gaze of its two small, bulbous black eyes on her, the light of the room being reflected on the eyes in shades of red and green.

The bug looked around the room, quickly spotting Shara brandishing the pipe. This had to be its target. But, she was awake and fully alert. The bug hadn't expected this. It would have to end things quickly, lest she would raise the alarm. Aimed for her face, the bug shot a glob of glue at Shara from its nasus.

The group arrived at the hospital. The front desk was fortunately clear.

Medic looked around.

Sectoid began to see if it could help find Shara.

Medic began to look for a nurse.

Engineer plopped down a teleporter entrance, before picking back up his sentry gun.

 

[Kirke]

You see a horrible monstrosity in the door, and you know it must be the threat you sensed earlier. You have no idea what it is, but you sense it doing a final weave to destroy you. You pull your pillow from behind you, holding it in front of you. You hear and feel something colliding with it, and with a cry you throw the pillow back at the beast.

The medic would find a nurse, and one that spoke English even. He noticed the red cross on the Medics coat, and assumed he was a doctor. "Anything I can help you with sir?

 

[Wackymon]

Medic smiled, "Yes, there vas a voman, she vas vounded in a ship, I need to find her as soon as possible."

Sectoid began to charge to where Shara was.

The Sectoid was quickly stopped by security, who didn't want a grey running around their hospital.

"We have a lot of wounded, but I'll have a look." The nurse replied, going to a computer at the front desk.

Joel ran after the Sectoid, assuming it knew where to go. Seeing security stop the Sectoid, Joel punched the guard in the throat with his mechanical left hand . If there was another guard, Joel would punch them with his right hand.

 

[Chungus]

As Shara blocked the glob of glue with the pillow she pulled out, the bug had taken quick steps forward. Having an increddibly fast reaction time, it could see her raising her arms, and deduced she was about to throw the pillow back. Although its reaction time was fast, its body lagged behind. As such, it couldn't fully evade the throw now that it had come out of a stride. Instead, it lowered itself on its front legs and lowered its head, the pilow coliding with its neck. The sticky side colided first, having to pilow stick to where it was. Knowing the effects the fumes given off by the glue had, the bug held its breath for the time being.

Shara had cried out. Subtlety most likely wasn't much of an option, now. From its lowered position, the bug jabbed its tail stinger at Shara, aimed for the side of her neck. If it connected, it would deliver a large amount of neuro toxin.

 

[Wackymon]

The sectoid looked, "Friend, help, threat, fear, go!" it said as it tried to run past him.

"Vhell, I don't suppose you vould mind letting an alien in, he know vhere she is." he asked.

An orderly came in as she heard Sharas cry, and made her own scream when she saw the bug, which attracted more attention. A group of people gathered around the entrance of the room, one of them a security guard who was reaching for his pistol.

Joel successfully took down the makeshift barricade, allowing him and the Sectoid passage. Samus ran with them, able to barge past anyone else who tried to stop them. Sectoid led the way, guiding the others.

[Kirke]

You twist the pole up vertically, grunting at the weight, and parry the incoming stinger. You see it just in front of your face for a moment before you smash the pole down against the neck of your opponent.

 

[Chungus]

Having its stinger deflected, the bug was about to step back, when Shara brought the pole down on its neck, delivering small fractures to the exoskeleton there. It screeched as it was struck, falling through its front legs, the tain sweeping behind itself.

Snorting, the pushed off against the ground, jumping backwards by a small amount. It was then the security forces arived, which thebug saw, given its 360. degree vision. It was too slow, taking down its mark was no longer an option now. It had to flee before more people arived on the scene.

Quicking extending its hands towards the door opening, the bug steeled itself for what was about to come, and generated a jet of flame from each of its hands, the fire blasting around haphazzardly. While it did this, the bug opened its mouth, which considdering it was pointed at Shara, could clue her in on what it might do. From the mouth, the bug squirted a stream of highly irradiated liquid at Shara's face.

Joel, Samus and co arrived at the scene, just as the bug roasted all he people in the doorway, most of whom fell back screaming. Medic go to work with the medigun, healing them, leaving the others free to attack the bug. Samus raised her cannon, but didn't fire, wary of hitting Shara in the confined space.

 

[Kirke]

You drop the pole and grab the thick blanket covering most of your body when to beast opened what you assume is a mouth. You pull the blanket up in front of you, expecting another projectile attack. This one, however, is different. You feel the heat through the blanket and realise you must get it away from you quickly.

Joel ran towards the sound of Shara's screams, arriving in time to see the crowd get roasted. [color=003399]"Get the fuck out here so I can kill you, you piece of shit!"[/color] he yelled at the room.

Finding all the commotion, Vicky grimaced as she watched the people in the doorway get set on fire.

"Great, more savages."

She brought back the red cylinder in her left hand and inserted it into a slot in her palm as she carefully and quickly stepped over the charred bodies. With the bug's backside facing her, she pounced forward in an attempt to grab hold of its tail with her left hand while drawing and blade and stabbing at it's back with her right.
