Seras' attention was drawn to the boat that was now sinking. For a moment she started to panic and wondered what she could do to help.
I'm not even near it yet, why'sit-- Victoria's thought was cut off as the water jet plowed into her sending her tumbling backwards and landing on her back. So that's how it's gonna be. Alright. She groaned as she stood back up, then exhaled aggressively. She made another charge at the merman, moving twice as fast as she was before and making a serpentine pattern.
Samus and the others would see crew members leap off the ship, into the water.
As they did so, Victoria would see the merman swim up to the crew members in the water, and slash them with his spear.
Victoria would also notice that the ground she was presumably running on was getting lower, and going underneath the merman.

Seras started hurridly taking off her cloths as she prepared to dive into the water, hoping to accomplish something while out there. Just before she jumped in Yorick tapped her on the shoulder and handed her a kuni knife. "You might need that." he said simply. She simply nodded and dived into the water. She then dived under the surface and started swimming toward the sinking ship.

EMily took off her skirt, petticoat, and shoes so that all she was wearing was her shirt, apron, pantaloons, and her stockings. She dove into the water and projected electric fields on some gathered electric charge in her torso to pull her forward in addition to her swimming.
Yoick would then look for a pier that might get him closer to the action.

Samus scowled. No way she could reach the ship. This was probably a bad idea, but seeing no other options, she dematerialized her armour and jumped into the water, swimming out to the ship, ready to reactive the armour at a moments notice.
Yorick then had the idea of trying to find a boat that he could borrow temporarily. "Hey, you guys have boats right? Get them over here!" he yelled at the officers that were presumably just standing around.
EMily could find herself getting closer and closer to the people that were still alive. She made a signal to the ship crew with her hands indicating she's here to help.

Unless the merman could swim perfectly fine with 300 pounds (136 kg) of mass with next-to-no buoyancy clinging to his ankle, Victoria would yank him downwards and she grabbed onto him. and gravity pulled her back down.
If he could, then she would yank her head sharply to the side to avoid getting stabbed in the head, then start swinging her legs in an attempt to toss the merman around a bit.

Hans would land the Valkyrie at the airstrip, and gently park it where directed. He'd look to Himura, and wave for him to lead.

During the descent, Victoria would see a large shape pass them, going up. It seemed like another merman, only with a number of tentacle-like limbs.
As the others reached the boat, they would see these tentacles take hold of the crew member's legs and pull them underwater.

Oh jeez, this is a whole new ball game. She started to swim for the other merman, and gathered energy to fire a laser. After about 5 seconds she was ready to fire.
She aimed for one of the tentacles and fired a 500 Watt laser in an attempt to sever it.
OOC: To get a good reference, 1000 to 5000 Watt lasers are enough to cut through metal. I figure 500 is enough to cut through flesh.
