As Vicky went outside, she would see Joel taking a sandwich out of his bag and begin eating it.

The next four days are long and hard, as you and the workers assigned to help you work in the burning sun. The first day is spent building a scaffold to place the ship, and after Gwen moved it over, a display that stunned everyone looking, you and the others spent the rest of the day cutting off damaged armour plates and salvaging materials from the Ray. The second day small smithies were set up, and the salvaged metal plates were heated up using blowtorches and then hammered into shape. Meanwhile, you replaced damaged electronics and got most of it working again. On the third day the metal plating was put back into place, while a small group of the most apt under your careful supervision created the parts required to fix the damaged engines, a long and exhausting process which continued long into the night. On the forth and final day these parts were used to repair the damaged engines, and as a maiden flight you travelled north-west and picked up a full haul of much-needed supplies from Germany. The entire flight took only four hours and after you unloaded the cargo you quickly fell asleep.

Dace and Robot Dave of course helped with the ship due their combined expertise of fixing ships. Dace was somewhat gifted when it came to fixing things though he had to be reminded quite a few times that you weren't supposed to just weld the damaged ship plates back into place without fixing them. That and Dace came from the school of "Eh it's good enough for now.". Robot Dave was good at taking orders and of course had Robotic Precision, though he was probably one of the most passive aggressive and sometimes actively aggressive robot you've ever met. Which is to say that he was less annoying than a regular annoying human but was prone to mocking people, and one time he punched a citizen that said he had no soul or feelings. That guy stayed in the hospital for the next couple days. Dace too helped to haul supplies. he tried to make some extra money but he quickly found out that you couldn't change euros to galactic credits and just gave all of them back.

With both ships loaded up, fully crewed and ready to fly, the group headed out to Denver, with co-ordinates leading to the HQ of Desperado's backers, World Marshal.

Denver, 13th June, 08:13 PM

The sky was dark as they entered Denver, the sun blocked out by an encroaching storm. Thunder rumbled in the distance, and a slow but steady drip of rain fell from the sky. Dace and Shara's ships easily found World Marshall HQ, a colossal skyscraper covered in blue-black-glass and with ribbed décor across its front. The ships landed a road away, with the plaza of the building in sight. Luckily, due to the time, weather and location, the streets were almost empty.

Vicky had absolutely nothing in the way of anything productive she could do in the four days waiting for Shara's space-ship repairs to be finished. This led her to have so much pent up energy that as soon as the landing was done, she immediately pried open the door and charged headfirst straight for the building.

Vicky would find the entrance plaza empty. There were no guards, just rows of ACPs and helicopters, and two large stone monuments that looked like miniature versions of the Washington Monument. If she tried the door, she would find it locked and held in place by a strange force.

Samus followed Vicky, looking around cautiously.

Assuming the door was made of glass as it appeared, Vicky swung her foot out to kick the door and smash through it after finding it wouldn't open the conventional way.

The door held strong, even seeming to push outward a little bit, as if Vicky's kick had just made whatever barricade was behind it bigger.

"Well, after that our interest in science grew and we obtained new abilities that we honed on as we grew up. We grew up as normal humans with a passion for physics. And once we were 18, we set sail on a spaceship to the planets that were mentioned in the data packet left behind by the Iter. We've come across several dead civilizations as well as some ones that were surviving or still alive. We went from planet to planet in a specialized ship capable of teleporting itself. It's one of a kind as well, and that's the one we still use to this day. By the time we reached the homeworld of the Iter, we found out that they were the first ones to be consumed by the dark being. We used the decryption techniques we had from decrypting the file from the first Iter we encountered to help decrypt their history. It turns out that the dark being was a project that was hijacked by a fanatical group that wished all life in our galaxy to be a part of it. The group let it loose on their own species, all the while transporting some of their own fanatics down to other planets as saboteurs. After that, we soon returned to Earth... just in time for the dark being to come crashing down on it with its tendrils. And if you recall what Gwen was talking about before I brought you over here, that should give you the full story."

<color=purple>"Well, at this point in our journey we've become quite adept at figuring out alien texts. All we start with is some sign of a mathematical system and voila! We've translated some of their documents before, it's just locating the records of their weather that will be tricky. Otherwise we'll have to run some reverse simulations on their weather."

"Wow... that's really terrible..." Sophia reflected, her shoulders drooping somewhat as well as her face showing the empathy for those fallen planets as EMily story continued. Her mood dipped more when she heard what was the cause of this 'Dark Beast' in the first place. 'Of course that would be the reason...' She thought to herself sadly, shaking her head as she combed her fingers through her hair. "So just because of them... many innocent people had to pay for it."

There was then a long pause before she continued. "At least from what Gwen said, you did some sort of... fusion thing, and saved the day from this 'Dark Being'." She tried to sound positive, but her tone still felt like she was bummed from the previous information. "...and, now you can move forward I guess, with the people that care about you." She said with a small smile. "You did a really good thing."

Vicky drew one of her swords and began angrily swinging at the door to try and cut it open while shouting,
Code:
"Let. Me. In. So. I. Can. Kill. You. Shits!"
Each word she spoke being punctuated by a slash.

"Yeah, we were able to save the Earth just in time. But..." She took a deep breath. "But now we're in a position to bring back the life that was once lost. And even then, some of our colleagues are not supporting the idea of restoring life to a race of people who were the progenitors of the dark being. Even if it was a rogue fanatical group that did it. That being was originally designed to greet all the other races along the Iter's flagship, and record samples of everyone's biology. When we stopped the dark being, we obtained beads containing all the information about the biology on each planet it went to. Coupled with the discomfort of some of our partners, we're still in the process of deciphering old records of weather patterns to see if the planets are still habitable." She sighed, and she somewhat slumped over with her arms dangling downward. "I just hope it works out in the end."

Currently
<color=purple>"I still think that was close to breaking my own record I think." She said stretching upwards. <color=purple>"Hopefully I'll get another chance to lift that kind of mass again."

EMily looked over at Victoria.
"Looks like Vicky here hasn't 'cooled her bosom' yet."

<color=purple>"Oh, 'HA HA'! Let's just stand by and alert the others in case she's going to run into anything weird."

OOC: My post for this morning. I'll probably be back before noon, as I'll be traveling back to Lawrence.

Sophia continued to listen, although starting to look a bit troubled if not a little angry. "Well, they are wrong." Sophia said flatly, sounding like there wasn't much budge on her opinion. "It's not right for them to punish all those people for what only a few did, not bring back the fanatical people is one thing, but the entire race is another thing entirely." She said as she crossed her arms and looked down in contemplation for a moment. "When you and your sisters get back from all this... you need to tell them that..." She started to say as she looked up. "Individuals need to stand and be looked at on their own merits. Just because they seem to be part of a group, doesn't mean they are not their own person.

Victoria's slashes cut through to door, but it stayed held in place. Victoria would notice a slight purple haze around the edges of the pieces.

She made a determined face and smiled.
"I certainly agree, Sophia. Whatever punishment that group deserves should come from their own race. When I read their history, it had taken them many social upheavals before they could get to their peaceful way of life across their planet. I just hope they get what they deserve before they set loose anything else. Their race deserves better than to remain dead after all of that. Humanity was close to the same outcome once in its history and yet it also worked hard to get to the idyllic way of life I live with." She looked elsewhere, as part of her mind thought of the possible nuclear weapon based destruction of humanity. Yeah... no race deserves to die like that. "It looks like Shara has called us in to help with the ship. Let's move out."

Vicky stared perplexed at the door managing to stay held in place despite being cut to tiny pieces.
Code:
"Well, this is a new kind of bullshit."
She sighed and made use of her psionics to make her way up the wall next to the door, walking on it to scale the building. When she reached the next layer of windows up on the second floor, she used her sword to try and cut a hole in them.

EMily and Gwen saw that Victoria was a bit stuck in her attempts to break through. They were going to return to base, but when she made her way over the wall the sisters sprinted over to see what she would find.
