We Are Our Avatars IX: Act V: The Sabotage of the Scandolous Saurian Scoundrels (Open)

[Kirke]

You look up as you hear Armstrong talk, not expecting him to still be alive. You realise you are terribly outgunned and decide to keep Samus out of harms way instead. Holding your sword in front of you, you place yourself between Samus and Armstrong and close your eyes as you focus your mind.

OoC: Gotta sleep, Shara will protect Armstrong best she can. She has extremely good reactions, but is fairly squishy and has no super speed or strength.

"That can't be healthy for you man." He said before charging at him again.

Armstrong batted Doomguy away, throwing him back off the mech. He jumped back down, taking off his glasses and throwing them away. "Let's go!" he shouted, then raised one fist and slammed it into the ground. The punch made a crack in the ground, out of which exploded a row of flaming pillars, heading straight towards Gwen and Emily.

Seras was tired of not being able to do any real damage, so when the stranger threw away his fancy sword, she was quick to go after it. After it impaled itself in the ground, she took it up and turned back to Armstrong, hoping she would get a good chance to use it. Seeing him punch lava out of the ground, she decided to carefully and quickly work her way around till she was behind him. She then waited for a better opportunity to strike.

The man looked...just about how you would expect someone to look after having a grenade go off in their hand. What little remained of his left arm was a bloody mess, along with his entire left side. His jacket was a tattered mess, which he removed with a pained roll of his shoulders.

"Of course that didn't work. How did I know that it wasn't going to work?" He muttered sarcastically as he shakily got to his feet. Seeing that Armstrong was preoccupied attacking the others he raised his remaining hand up and clicked his fingers, causing a flame to appear above his thumb. With practised ease he thrust his hand out palm first towards Armstrong, sending a stream of napalm shooting towards him.

 

[Slenn]

Gwen grabbed a hold of EMily and levitated over the row of flames using a reverse gravity field. This field would also make the flames reverse their direction and burn into the ground. She landed them safely and generated a 5 g gravity pull beneath Armstrong.

EMily fired a barrage of eight lightning bolts at him, seeing if that would make a difference.

Joel drew the Murasama and attempted to circle around Armstrong. If Gwen and EMily's attacks visibly stunned the senator, Joel would run in for a quick slash at Armstrong's back.

The man's napalm strike did little, as it turns out using fire against someone who can create fire doesn't quite work.

Armstrong didn't harden his body, to reduce the effect of Gwen's gravity pull. Emily's lightning strike ran over him harmlessly. However, he was too busy and not wearing enough armour to block Joel's strike, which cut through the bare skin, though the wound quickly welded shut.

Seeing Joel attacking from the back, she went to the side, then dashed at Armstrong with her sword swinging.

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>So he doesn't like it when I increase the gravity... interesting. Although I don't know how long I'll be able to channel it. I might have to try another ability as I recuperate from this.

Gwen cast another 5 g gravity pull on him, although it would be her last for another round.

EMily ripped off some of the scrap metal from the fallen robot with a magnetic tug and tossed it at Armstrong. The largest size was that of a small TV.

Joel slashed at Armstrong's upper right arm from behind, intending to remove the limb just below the shoulder.

Armstrong turned to face Joel, hardening one of his arms. It was difficult for him to keep it raised, but he managed to bat away the sword slice, returning the hand to normal as soon as the danger had passed. He tried to punch Joel in the face with his other hand, and though that wasn't hardened it would still probably send a few teeth flying if it connected. Seras' slice cut through him, though it wasn't as deep or damaging as the Murasama blade. Emily's wreckage slammed into him and knocked him back a bit, the knockback lessened slightly by Gwen's gravity field. Armstong started charging up another blast, unleashing it to knock the group back, though it would take two seconds to charge.

Joel staggered back slightly, but remained unharmed. As before, Joel's head would feel like a hot block of metal. Seeing Armstrong charging his blast, Joel backed away further.

Seras would aim a slice at Armstrong's neck, hoping to lop his head off.

 

[Kirke]

You consider going in close to engage against Armstrong, but you do not fancy your chances of survival. Instead, you grab Samus's legs and begin to drag her away from the fight. Her weight makes this a slow process, but there is progress.

Seras, not dodging Armstrong's blast, was knocked back by the energy attack. It didn't do much damage on its own, but it did knock her clear. Armtong hardened himself, charging at Joel, trying to knock the Muramasa out of his hand with a two-handed hammer blow.

Samus tried to protest Shara dragging her away, but was in no shape to get back up and rejoin the fight herself.

 

[Kirke]

You tell Samus that she's injured and that the spot you are in isn't safe. After a little while you come behind a low pile of debris where you stop, taking your breath and asking Samus how bad it is.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"I'm fine. The suit will repair itself and heal me with enough time." Samus told her.

Sersa charged at the back of Armstrong and tried to stab him.

 

[Slenn]

The sisters boosted away from the knockback attack with plasma jets.

Gwen created a gravity tug worth 4 g's against the hammer blow made by Armstrong, pulling it against its motion.

EMily started to gather more metal with magnetic tugs to bring together into another object to throw at Armstrong. It would take a while to make what she was forging.
