"I've heard rumours. Haven't seen anything like that around here, though." the man replied.
Joel looked over at EMily and said, [color=003399]"It's not repairs, it's a whole new arm. And I've sorted something out with the shop, so money won't be a problem."[/color]

 

[Slenn]

"I knew it was a new arm. Regardless, I promised I'd give you a share of the money we have. So here you go." She opened up a satchel that she had on Dave's ship and counted a sum of money good for two weeks. "Here you go. It should be enough for two weeks here." She smiled.

 

[Chungus]

"I have not the anwser, I am afraid." Yeul responded, shaking her head lightly, not looking to the text Sophia indicated, since she couldn't read it. "Although it could in all probability refer to doing something to onesself, considdering it has the word in it."

"Well, then. I have no further questions." Caius stated with a nod, then walked back towards the exit of the store, standing by the door. "We are finished here, yes?" He asked Joel, looking towards him after briefly glancing towards EMily handing him money. Seeing that made him think that he would need to find a way to earn some of the local currency himself, since no way to return to his home world was within sight, and didn't know the lay of the land, putting self-sufficieny out of the question.

"I guess I could do it again, but it took ten years to charge the rune enough just to bring myself to another world. I guess if people are willing to wait that long or more for each person I could send everyone back." Alain suggested. "The Earth I'm from was... well, kind of destroyed. All I ever heard about what caused it were legends, but I don't know if any of them were true. About some big war around the whole world that ended up killing almost everyone. When I first showed up, back when I was eleven, the people were all in different tribes. Barely any food, and what little there was was always fought over. So I spent fourteen years there making things better. Then I came here."

 

[Zepherus14]

"That makes sense I guess." She agreed as she thought, rubbing her chin with her fingers, not noticing that some of the ink from the paper had rubbed off the paper, onto her fingertips, and subsequently onto her chin. "Whatever, I'll ask EMily or Gwen when they aren't busy, they should know. Let's see what else is in this?" She flipped through the pages some more until she came to the comics page.

[color=003399]"I'll be staying here, once I get my arm. The adjustment period can take a while, and I'll be helping out here to pay off most of the money."[/color] Joel said, not taking the cash offered to him. [color=003399]"Plus, I'd feel kinda guilty taking money I didn't earn."[/color]
The man, hearing this, headed into the back room.

 

[Demonjazz]

The marine followed Samus "Can't wait until I get some money for some cigars. Haven't had one since I was stationed on Mars."

 

[Slenn]

<color=green>"Well, we'll see how desperate everyone is. Chances are we'll look for another method. As for your world, it sounds post-apocalyptic. But I'm not quite sure that I follow you with 'runes'. What are they exactly?"

She took a deep breath and stowed the money in her satchel.
"Fair enough then, if you insist. You'll have enough money for food then?"

<color=purple>"You called me, Sophia? What is it?" She walked over to where Sophia was.

"You know, runes! Like, spells in a physical form. Just gotta put some mana into them and they work just like a spell. They take quite a bit more mana that way, but it's much simpler than shaping the spell yourself. Don't they teach magic where you're from?"

[color=003399]"Oh, yeah... food costs money."[/color] Joel said, obviously having forgotten that.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"We have money." Samus told Doomguy. "We did a few bounty jobs before the Desperado attacks. I don't know the exact amount, but I know there's so much we received it in a large burlap sack."

 

[Chungus]

"Where are we headed next?" Caius asked as his previous question went unanswered.

Having been looking towards Sophia, Yeul notice the ink had rubbed off onto her finger, which she then smeared over her chin. "You have rubbed a black smudge onto your chin." She informed Sophia, pointing up to her chin. "It came from the newspaper. Perhaps you should not be touching it any more."

Hearing Caius question, Yeul turned around, facing the majority of the group, deciding to ask something that was on her mind for a while. "If we have not anywhere in paticular to go, could we perhaps go to a place where flowers are to be seen?"

 

[Slenn]

She shook her head and made a sad smile.
<color=green>"I'm sorry but no. The only magic I know of is magic tricks from magicians and the unknown and unexplained phenomenon of the universe. I come from this same planet only much farther in the future. But there's no such thing as magic runes where I'm from." She shrugged.

"Here, then take this amount until we can find a bounty to help pay for more." She handed him enough for one week of food. "That should be good for one week. My advise when grocery shopping is: never run out of breakfast items. You can always order lunch and dinner."

 

[Zepherus14]

"It what?!" Sophia said as she looked down at her hand, noticing the black smear. "Damn..." She frowned as she looked over herself, wondering if she'd gotten the stuff anywhere else.

When Gwen approach Sophia turned to look her way, a small goofy smile appearing across it as she realized she must look pretty silly right about now. "Huh... ya so... I wanted to know what this self I was?" She said as she pointed at the paper, now lying on the table. "It's... a bit inky as you might be able to tell..."

 

[Demonjazz]

"Yeah but I'm not going to borrow your money to buy stuff for me... Even if I'm still wearing clothes that are practically falling apart."

[color=003399]"Thanks."[/color] Joel said as he took the money and pocketed it. As he moved to the door, Joel looked at Caius and replied, [color=003399]"I don't think we have anywhere planned."[/color]

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"Oh those? That was something that trended in this time period. Essentially people would take a camera of sorts and hold it in front of their faces with their arms outstretched and take a picture of themselves. It stopped trending because people thought it made you look like a jackass. And I'm glad it did." She shook her head after briefly posing for Sophia to explain what she was talking about.

"That's kinda sad, actually. Magic can do pretty much anything! The problem is that only the people who are 'mana-touched' or whatever can use it. Except me. I wasn't born able to use mana, but I'm pretty awesome so I can use magic anyway."

"Do you even have money?" Samus asked.

"My wallet burnt up when some imp got a lucky shot on me! It's not like I can go get any money from my bank account here anyway... I don't even think my bank even exists here."
