She put her hands behind her back.
<color=green>"I don't think it's sad really. I mean, as I told Sophia, our resident ferret-girl, my world is already filled with cool and untold wonders, both unknown and known. And our society has been able to explore and do a whole lot with the tools and science that it has. But tell me, what is mana? You seem pretty confident that you can use magic even though, by your definition, you shouldn't be able to." She chuckled in good humor, <color=green>"As much as being awesome would be a good excuse, I'm afraid I don't buy that explanation. I haven't seen you in combat yet, so I can't say anything. But you don't have any explanation as to what's allowing you to do so?" She asked.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"I was headed to a bounty store. You can follow, see if there are any jobs." Samus offered. "Failing that, we are a group, we can pool our funds."

 

[Chungus]

"Right." Caius responded to Joel, then turned around, looking towards Yeul after. "Perhaps another time." He said to her, shaking his head lightly.

Yeul blew a mute sigh, then walked to Caius' sides looking out of the window while waiting for the group to exit. She glanced to Gwen when Gwen explained what a selfie was, trying and failing to see the appeal of that.

 

[Knife-28]

Knife walked out of the ship, stretching his arms out above him as he did so. "Oh, another new guy." He said, refering to the armoured newcomer. "We're popping up everywhere today, eh Doug?"

A wet thud puncuated Knife's question, and if Winona or the newcomer were to look up they would see the giant, seven eyed, pincered vistage of a mutant bird. "Bite me." He said, ruffling his feathers in a futile attempt to alleviate the rain. Man this weather is Bogue."

 

[Demonjazz]

"That's why I was following you. And I don't want you to buy me anything. I can do well enough on my own."

 

[Zepherus14]

"Really..?" Sophia asked, almost feeling like she was having her leg pulled. "You're right, that does sound like someone being a jackass..." Sophia agreed, looking down at her hand and then around if there was anything like a bathroom or something to wipe it on.

 

[ShindoL Shill]

Sophia would see a door labeled 'Bathroom', likely leading to a bathroom of some kind.

"If you insist." Samus said. They eventually found a bounty store.

"Ferret-girl? You mean like a beastkin? I never got to see one in person back on Era! Oh, but mana is like... energy. Pure energy. It supposedly comes from some universe that has no physical form in any way, but those are just speculations. There seem to be some people that are born with the ability to channel mana from that realm into their own, and if it's shaped in a certain way, stuff happens. Most people don't even realize that they can use mana because they never learn how to actually use spells. I have a real explanation for why I can use magic, buuut I was kinda keeping it a secret. All to be mysterious, you know. I will say that it is an indirect result of my awesomeness though. And I haven't seen myself in combat before either. That's part of the reason I came here."

 

[Demonjazz]

The Space Marine walked into the bounty store.

 

[Zepherus14]

"If you excuse me, I'm going to go try to clean this ink off me." Sophia said as she pointed at the bathroom sign once she took the time to read it, then headed towards it.

 

[Slenn]

<color=green>"Yep, that's what I mean. But... mana is photons? Photons, in my world are pure energy since they have no mass and no electric charge. But I'm still lost as to your explanation. What's keeping you from telling me other than you want to be mysterious?" She put her hand against her forehead and gave a snarky smile. <color=green>His ego has made me put my hand against my forehead. "Let me guess... you don't actually know." She teased.

"I never heard of these photons, but like I said, nobody really knows what it actually is. Most research is in different ways to use mana, not on what it actually is. And I DO know exactly how I can still use mana. I just don't want to tell because with great power comes great responsibility. And I don't want someone to know that they can stop me from doing pretty much anything just by taking my glove. Alain explained, before facepalming right after he mentioned the glove. "Please tell me I didn't just say that."

 

[Slenn]

She shrugged.
<color=green>"Well, if you do get back, maybe you should tell them to research what mana is. Maybe that way they'd make more sense of what they're dealing with before using it. If you don't know how it works, then it's going to blow up in your face at some point. As for your glove, I won't tell anyone. But in this universe I don't think it would be relevant because many people here won't be from the same universe you are from, so they won't have good context or reason to see why you're keeping it a secret."

"But, but, people could make more of them! Then since I created the first one, I would be the cause for everyone in the world getting the power of magic and now that I'm saying this it doesn't actually sound that bad. Huh." Alain said, then paused for a few seconds with his hand on his chin as if he was deep in thought. "Oh, and I'm never going back to Era. I had reasons for leaving it to go to a dead world. One of them was that I was eleven and a post apocalyptic world sounded cool, but I'd still rather not go back."

 

[Knife-28]

"Are they...?
"Ignoring the freaky-as mutant bird and the impeccably dressed man talking to them?" Knife finished, "Yea."
Doug shook his head, sending droplets of water scattering everywhere. "Man they've gotta be trippin."

 

[Slenn]

<color=green>"Oh! My apologies, Knife and.... Mr. Bird? Quite frankly I never got your name. My name is Winona. Nice to meet you." She bowed to them and then put her hands behind her back.

Alain turned to Knife and Doug, having just noticed them. "Oh, hey I didn't notice you there that is a really big evil-looking bird." He said quickly, grabbing his hammer with both hands and quickly backing up as some of the runes on his weapon and armor started to glow brighter.

 

[Knife-28]

"Take a chill pill narbo." Doug said as he watched the newcomer getting into a combat stance, "I'm way past snacking on dudes in scrap metal. Junk's hard to get outta your beak."

"Doug, stop scaring the poor boy." Knife said before adressing the newcomer directly, "I'm Knife. What's your name?"

 

[Slenn]

Winona giggled. <color=green>"Doug the Big Bird." She covered her mouth with her hands coyly while laughing.
