We Are Our Avatars IX: Act V: The Sabotage of the Scandolous Saurian Scoundrels (Open)

"Ummmmmm....." Sophia looked a bit puzzled by what EMily had thrown at her, Erica having never mentioned a 'Regulus'. "Maaaaybe?" She was at a loss for words at the moment.

"Well... yes, she learned how to use magic at a college very similar to mine called Winterhold, mine being Winterhorn. I always thought it was the place where she had grown up in, she's a landscaper after all." Sophia eventually said. "I'm... not quite sure if 'take a part in exploring' is quite the right words though... The circumstances for both weren't a choice I made." Sophia corrected.

"So you're telling me you've seen Erica? I've been wanting to give her this for a couple years now, but she hasn't come back to visit."

 

[Demonjazz]

"I've been meaning to ask about that... So were they like bitten by a radioactive physicist or something?"

 

[Slenn]

"Yeah. I thought the figurine looked familiar. Anyways, that's peculiar that she learned her magic from a similar place. But, you missed my last question. Where did she get the title of Solitude?"

Samus made an "Idunno" shrug to Eric before heading off on a spree with Seras.

By the time it was over, Samus had acquired several bags worth of spare clothing, most of it plain but not ugly. She went over to the cashier with a long coat. "Excuse me, I want to ask about this coat..."

Seras was just happy she had been able to prevent Samus from buying anything too unsightly.

"Well..." Sophia looked a bit confused. "I don't think she ever said why. I actually thought it was the place she was born or something?" Sophia explained as she put away the Vanessa figurine.

Soon after the manager would come back with the small can of lacquer, about the same size as a small pickle jar. "Thank you, that should be it for me unless EMily wanted something too?" She said to the man as he returned, looking to EMily at the end.

Eric wasn't sure how he got roped into to a shopping spree. Perhaps it was a blend of boredom and self loathing. He did buy stuff though. A camera, one of these newfangled cell phone things, a gameboy, one or two videogames... What he was really confused about is how he somehow ended up carrying half of the bags of clothing. "You know when I said that I would carry my own weight this isn't wasn't what I meant!"

OoC: I'll just do this bit.

The checkout worker looked at Samus and her coat. "How may I help ma'am?"
"Is this coat easy to put on and take off?"
The worker looked confused. "Uh... I assume so ma'am... Why do you ask?"
"I need to be able to remove this as fast as possible if something comes up."
"Why?"
"Part of my job."
The checkout worker was stunned by this, staring at Samus for a second before shaking her head and starting to punch in the price of their assorted bags into the register.

Eric was snickering behind all the clothing he was carrying. "Maybe you could show your job to me someday." He said barely keeping a straight face.

Seras snickered at the other ways Samus' question could be interpreted.

The checkout worker gave the price, which Samus paid with a wad of cash she had grabbed from the group's shared funds before leaving the ship. As they left, the checkout worker watched Samus go, still in the wet Zero Suit, and resolved to put the encounter on Not Always Right sometime.

"I hope all your stuff doesn't get too wet..." Seras said as she followed Samus out. Faro also followed dutifully.

 

[Demonjazz]

"I hope that it does! Why do you even need this many clothes! I'll buy less clothes then you in a year!" Eric said, same as he did the almost entire time shopping.

 

[Chungus]

Going with Gwen and Winona, Yeull and Caius headed for the clothing store. At the entrance, the duo shook some of the rain from their umbrellas, before folding them up and entering the store. There, Yeul looked around the various clothes on display, a bit overwhelmed by the selection available, while Caius looked around with disinterest.

Not sure what to go for initially, Yeul took some time to go over the various articles, from time to time picking a piece of clothing off from the rack and looking it over more thoroughly. During this time, Caius followed Yeul, holding her umbrella for her. He didn't have much of an opinion to give on what Yeul should buy, so he kept quiet other then the occasional comment on wherther or not something was practical.

Eventually, Yeul settled on getting brown tights, a green dress with a giraffe pattern on it, the spots being in a darker shade of green, and an off-white body warmer in case she ever got cold. There were more things she wanted to get, but decided to not do so, so to not drain the Masons' funds any more then she already had. After the items were paid for and put in a bag, Caius gave the umbrella back to Yeul, and offered to carry the bag for her. Yeul respectfully declined, saying she preffered to carry it herself.

Once Samus and those following her left the store, they might see the duo and the Masons in the distance, having left the store before them.

About half an hour after everyone else had left the space-ship, Vicky woke up, the uncomfortable feeling of laying against a metal floor in wet clothes getting to her. She groaned softly as she made her way back to the room she had been sleeping in for the time being. Once there, she removed her clothes and climbed back onto the warm quilt, wrapping herself up in it as best as she could as she shivered and coughed.

 

[FPSfanatic]

Hans slowly slid off the side of the Valkyrie, picking his crutch up from the ground. he limped back into the ship, and towards Vicky's room. he opened the door, completely oblivious to Vicky. He sat his crutch against the door, and sat down in the room's chair, in full rain soaked gear. his breathing was as regular as ever, and more noticeable thanks to his gas mask.

Having not fallen asleep again yet, Vicky jumped a little when she heard Hans come into the room. She sat up and breathed out in relief as she saw him sitting in the corner.

"Oh, it's just you."

She muttered. Hans would see that she wasn't in great shape, with obvious sickness and fatigue piled onto her already sorry state from before.

 

[FPSfanatic]

Hans looked to Vicky. "My apologies serge- ma'am. I have been using this room. I had temporarily used this area as a zone for recovery." his covered eyes looked Vicky over. "It appears now you need this area ma'am."

 

[Drakmorg]

"Nah, don't worry about it. I was just surprised is all."

Vicky coughed and laid back down, staring at the ceiling for a moment.

"Just please try and keep it down."

She added, sounding surprisingly meek.

 

[FPSfanatic]

"Understood." Hans replied. he then let his head tilt slightly downwards, and became nearly silent. even the gas mask's amplification of his breathing became muted.
