"Just as long as the commander doesn't send them working on anything too useless, I'm happy. I've seen you in the sparring ring now that I think of it. Almost a shame you're stuck flying a ship." Perry said as he started putting his equipment back into the armory storage.

 

[Kirke]

You say that you're not a soldier, so you'd probably be more of a hindrance in ground combat. Besides, it seems far too dangerous for your liking.
OoC: Off for dinner, back in a bit.

"You say that like we soldiers like being in danger." Perry says.

 

[Kirke]

You admit that he probably doesn't, but on the other hand he signed up for it. You haven't, and you don't intent to either. Being able to chose what dangers you are willing to risk is a good reason to stick as a mercenary.

"Ah mercs. Always holding onto your freedom. Life of a soldier ain't for you after all." Perry said jokingly. "Goin ta the lounge?" he asked.

Sophia wasn't entirely sure what to make of Yeul's reaction. She was obviously missing something, why would knowing the future be a bad thing from time to time? Maybe she couldn't stop some of the bad ones? It might have actually been a lot for a girl her age to handle. Thinking back on it, Sophia would have been right around her age when times had gotten hard.

Sophia eventually looked over, a sympathetic look on her face. "You're a pretty strong kid if you have to go through all that." Sophia said, not entirely sure if it was the best thing to say, but thinking Yeul would appreciate it.

 

[Slenn]

Gwen was almost done with the soup and kept the burner on low to let it simmer.

 

[Chungus]

"Thank you." Yeul responded, a hint of appreciation in her voice. Sophia's words seemed to have the desired effects. She twisted her left foot a little as she was quiet for a brief moment, moving the toes over the ground. "You need not sadden yourself over this, however."

Caius glanced down as the floor as the conversation continued, lowering his head a little. In a subtle expression, his shoulders slumped by a near unnoticeable margin, the corners of his mouth dipped, and a small frown grew on his face.

You say that you have to get that habit in, and clean up the blood left by his mates. You say goodbye, and head over to fix up your ship.

Perry walks off into the lounge.

Samus, who had gone back to the ship, overheard the last bit of Yuel and Sophia's conversation. She noted Caius' reaction, used to small, subtle body language like that. She walked over to him, not saying anything.

OoC: She still has all the scars visible of that matters at all.

 

[Zepherus14]

"You're probably right, but still." Sophia replied, nearly done the sandwich after being distracted with the conversation. "You know that pesky thing called empathy, it really does get you sometimes. But like I've said, you've got Caius with you, so you'll never have to go it alone, right?" Sophia joked a little, trying to make the situation have at least a partial positive spin.

 

[Demonjazz]

"So Samus of Metroid? Where'd you get all the scars. Doesn't your amour protect you?"

 

[Chungus]

Hearing footsteps come down the hallway and towards the kitchen, Caius glanced to his left, to the doorway. Subconsciously, he raised his head more and shifted positioning into a somewhat more active posture, but relaxed again when he saw Samus entering.

"Yes?" He said questioningly after Samus walked up to him, looking away after looking her change in attire over for a moment.

"This is true." Yeul responded with a barely noticeable nod, smiling a little. "Being with someone with experience with this, it has helped. It still does." She added, trailing off a little when Samus entered the kitchen. Yeul glanced to Samus momentarily, then looked back to Sophia.

Apparently Samus just walked off in the middle of her conversation with Seras. Seras decided to follow her.

 

[Slenn]

Gwen was finished with the soup and poured some in a bowl with a spoon.

 

[Zepherus14]

"Don't worry we can talk about it later if you need." Sophia smiled as she noticed other people were slowly gravitating to the kitchen. "So how was your trip to the clothing store with Gwen and Winona? It isn't too much different than where you normally are, right?" She asked changing the subject.

Seeing that Gwen was done, Sophia went to go grab a plate for the chicken sandwich.

"Are you alright?" Samus asked Caius quietly. She looked at Eric, not noticing Yeul's glance at her. "It does. It also heals me if I am hurt. The scars are what's left of these wounds."

 

[Chungus]

"I suppose that would depend of what you mean 'Where you normally are'?" Yeul responded questioningly, setting her feet son the ground again, and keeping them still. "Are you reffering to what things are like on our homeworld?"

"Yes." Caius responded curtly, initially not looking back to her. He was quiet for a moment longer, until he began wondering something. "Why do you ask?" He questioned, now looking back to her. His voice still had an air of neutrality to it, but something was different in a way that was hard to notice.

"I thought you looked... Off. My apologies." Samus said. She looked at Gwen and Sophia preparing food.
