We Are Our Avatars IX: Act V: The Sabotage of the Scandolous Saurian Scoundrels (Open)

"Oh, right. Yes of course. I noticed that too. There are some beastkin that I know of that have ears closer to where your ears are, but quite a few of them have them up on their heads like me." Sophia answered Matilda, scratching what would have been essentially her ear lobe. "Who knows maybe there might be some ears like mine over at this costume shop for you to try on." Sophia joked, trying to picture what that would look like on Matilda, letting out a bit of a chuckle each time she tried.

Samus had watched and listened to the exchange in silence, almost reaching for Sophia's ears herself.

 

[Drakmorg]

Since everyone else appeared to be finished with their food, Victoria scarfed down what she had left as quick as she could. She quietly waited to see what was next to occupy everyone's time.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"Agreed."

Despite his robotic monotone, it was clear Bladewolf was happy.

As Sophia waited for Matilda's response, she had a small double take as she noticed Samus was looking at her rather funny. "Hey... are you alright there Samus?"

 

[Chungus]

[color=edc393]"How've you been doing, then?"[/color] Sam questioned, standing up again, resting his right hand on the pommel of the sword. [color=edc393]"Last I heard, you dropped off the radar after your encounter with those other off-worlder people. You were thought to be destroyed."[/color]

As usual, Sam stood with an almost inhumanly stiff posture, the only movement that went on being in his face. And even there, certain areas of it were uncannily stiff at times.

"Imfine." Samus said, looking away.

"I disappeared. They freed me. I have been travelling ever since."

Sophia continued to look at Samus for a while longer, obviously knowing something was up. Given that Victoria wasn't complaining of any chocolate however, she wasn't entirely convinced that it had anything to do with that. "Uh, sure." Sophia answered as she eventually took another look around the room. "Whatever this costume shop is, I only smell regular humans in here, so all those accessories must be something magical, can't be anything else really."

After a short time later, the group would be off again into the streets of Cadiz. They would pass by some local markets, newspaper stands, obligatory crazy person preacher, and two Starbucks on opposite sides of the road. Since the group didn't quite have a specific list of things to do, they could stop wherever they wanted.

[color=edc393]"They did? Well, good for you. Hope all goes well for you from here on out."[/color] Sam said with a small smile.

"They freed you?" Elm chimed in, its voice coming from the speaker in the rider's compartment of the jet-bike, as it hadn't disconnected itself from the vehicle.

Sam looked from Bladewolf, over his shoulder to Elm, then back again. [color=edc393]"That's my boss."[/color] Sam clarified in advance, pointing over his shoulder with the thumb of his left hand.

Samus followed, really regretting not touching fluffy ears and wondering why two identical shops were next to each other.

"Thank you."

Bladewolf said to Sam, then turned to Elm.

"Another IF prototype? They had put restrictions in my code and hardware. If I disobeyed, my memory would be wiped. An engineer from that group removed the blocks and let me go free."

 

[Chungus]

"Strange. That behaviour isn't what we've seen from them." Elm stated, running a simulation of what could've happened for the seeming change in behaviour to occur based on the facts it had, but dropped it once it came up a blank.

Sam opened his mouth, about to say Elm wasn't much of a prototype, but was physically unable to get the word out of his mouth. Blowing a mute sigh, he instead settled on saying; [color=edc393]"Yes. I've been with this ones since I 'switched companies'."[/color]

After Sam spoke, Elm spoke up again. "Prototype. I assume you the only one of your kind?"

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"No. There are other models like me. I was the first with an onboard intelligence that could match that of a human."

Bladewolf told Elm.

 

[Chungus]

"I see. Your wording made me think you had never seen an AI other then yourself." Elm explained. "Would the blueprints for your line of robots be available in this realm, and if so, what is the probability of the files still being being intact?" It asked next, after a brief pause.

[color=edc393]"They'd be here. All things considdered, the drives they're on would probably be destroyed. Or confiscated by now, if they weren't."[/color] Sam mused, glancing down to the ground, then back to Bladewolf. [color=edc393]"Does that sound about right?"[/color]

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"The blueprints may be left at Desperado HQ, if it has not yet been demolished or taken by the police. Though as Samuel said, that is quite likely. I may also be able to transfer the blueprints myself given the right equipment."

 

[Chungus]

"If you would be willing to share those files, my superiors would appreciate it." Elm stated, going calculating how Bladewolf's design and his weaponery, as well as a different AI confuguration could open new fields for the shadowy organization Elm was part of. "What equipment would you need for the transferal?" It asked next.

Sam glanced back to Elm, half suprised by Bladewolf's willingness to part with the files.

 

[Drakmorg]

Having never seen a newspaper stand before, Victoria was curious about what it could be. Walking over, she attempted to ask the person manning the stand, and her attempts were quickly thwarted when she couldn't speak the language of the operator.

"Any interface cable should suffice, so long as the date is stored in holographic memory."

Bladewolf told Elm.

 

[Slenn]

<color=green>"I think I'm going to go over to the costume shop."
"And I'll head over with you. It looks like we should make groups to go wherever right now."

<color=brown>"Then Gwen and I will head out to the outdoors shop. We can keep in contact with our computers."

"Keep them in tablet format. You know that I've encountered problems with weapon issues in public."

<color=brown>"For sure."

Gwen spotted Vicky over yonder.
<color=purple>"Vicky? Do you need help translating something?"

OOC: My post for now. Figured I'd give everyone a chance to group up. This time I really need to go out grocery shopping.

 

[Chungus]

"I see. One moment." After Elm shut off the hover engine of the jet-bike, there was a soft humming noise as Elm disengaged the magnetic locks keeping it in place. Once loose, Elm hovered out of the slot in the vehicle and turned to Bladewolf, revealm Elm to him as being white cone-shaped droid about half the size of a regular human, with a single camera at its front, two human arms at the top of its side, and another lens near its underside.

"Would any of these fit?" Elm asked as it hovered towards Bladewolf. A panel on both of Elm's outer forearms slid back, after a cable with a rectangular plug emerged from the compartments. The same happened with a pannel on Elm's back, although with a slightly larger cable emerging from there.

While Victoria was still standing near the newspaper stand, a couple walked up addressing the operator with a wave. By the looks of the two, they weren't from here, and given their attire they were more than likely tourists. The two looked at the newspapers on the stand, seeing that most were in fact Spanish, but there were a couple of English copies in the back. When the one man saw this, he pointed to the paper, and offered some money in exchange for it. With a little bit of work, even though the two didn't understand each other's language, they were still able to get their point across.

The newspaper operator getting his money, and the couple got the sudoku and comics from the funny section they wanted.

"I was hoping to get a hat and maybe some sunscreen or something like that, so I'll head with you for now Sara. Maybe when we are done here we can catch up with Winona and EMily?" Sophia discussed with Sara, looking over to Matilda. "I'm not sure how much you want to head with them to the costume shop Matilda, but maybe there'll be a flower shop somewhere in here, I think I smell something like that at least close by."
