We Are Our Avatars IX: Act V: The Sabotage of the Scandolous Saurian Scoundrels (Open)

As EMily and Winona drew closer to the area the Cristie had told them the costume shop was, they would notice every so often another person with something nonhuman, or even a full blown alien. There was someone that looked like an angel, another that was a more of a aquatic looking fish man, even one that looked very similar to EMily herself except missing the EM on her apron and having a blue mask over her face. It didn't even seem like it was the young people were alone in this, as a coffee shop they passed had two older gentlemen with animal features similar to how Victoria and Sophia looked, the two talking amongst themselves as they saw the world pass by. Once they were near a block away they would finally be able to see the shop a bit more easily, the structure of the shop being totally different than any of the other buildings in the city.

Samus followed Sara and Gwen, more interested in practical stuff than dress up.

Seras threw the paper away while grumbling. Then she and Faro followed Vicky. For lack of something better to do, they both followed Emily and Winona.

 

[Slenn]

"Oh my god is that.... me?" I may need to put a copyright on this dress.

<color=green>"Holy mackerel! This is getting really bizarre. Look at all these guys!"

As a few more of the people passed them, EMily's expression became more flabbergasted at the detail of the costumes. She tried to retain her surprise and amazement.
"This is getting really freaky I gotta say." She said to Faro and Seras.

As EMily looked at the maid outfit that looked like her, she might have remembered the conversation a week back with a particular guy named Carl had mentioned to her about. If that really was her, it could potentially have been Lady Blue of the WONDERFUL RANGER MAIDENS! Even though there were quite a few around, the amount of regular people around still outweighed the people in costume.

Victoria would follow Sophia as she went around town, nothing else being around that was worth her attention.

 

[Chungus]

"That depends on the department. I am not at liberty to divulge the task a speciffic department is responsible for, but our operation can be split into two parts - inter, and extra-dimensional affairs. In both fields, secrecy is of the essence."

Elm explained.

"Those in the field of extra-dimensional affairs would be more likely to get into situations where one would face hostile activities."

Sam looked down to Bladewolf and Elm for a while, eventually raising an eyebrow. [color=edc393]"Am I missing anything?"[/color]

Sophia would go to finding a hat, and maybe also some more summery clothing, something she hoped would keep her cooler in the summer heat. "You sure you don't want to grab anything Victoria?" She asked.

 

[Drakmorg]

"Nah. Why would I? I'm fine."

Victoria replied to Sophia, having not found anything worth getting for herself. Victoria seemed completely unbothered by the weather conditions, whatever they were.

 

[Slenn]

Gwen and Sara silently eyed Sophia and Victoria going off to find hats. Then Gwen said:
<color=purple>"You want to go swimming later?"

Sara was a little surprised.
<color=brown>"Gwen, this isn't entirely a vacation. And all our swim gear is back in our time."

<color=purple>"Schrødinger can send it to us much like how you sent EMily's diving gear. And it might as well be a vacation while we wait for the status of the bending point of the timelines. Besides, we're already waiting on that metal. I'll just go looking for goggles there."

Sara went off to find something like sunscreen and sunglasses. Gwen went off to find swimwear.

Matilda would go with Sophia, and would get summer-y clothes for herself. As they were browsing she asked, [color=006d5b]"Do you guys go to cold places a lot?"[/color]

Sophia eyed a multitude of hats for a while, trying on a couple as they all weren't built for someone with her head in mind. "We haven't yet really. The coldest has been this place called Britain, but that wasn't even cold enough for snow. Maybe it's just summer time I guess here right now? I never did ask the Masons, they'd know." Sophia answered back to Matilda. "If you ask me, I wouldn't mind having a little bit of snow around as long as we have enough food to eat and firewood to keep things warm, the weather here is hot."

As she continued looking, she'd start to narrow down what she might want to use for a had, understanding she'd probably need to buy a size larger than she'd really need to accommodate her ears.

Samus, not really sure what to do, followed Gwen.

[color=006d5b]"Really? Great. I hate the cold."[/color] Matilda replied. [color=006d5b]"This temperature is about normal for summer where I'm from. But, it's winter over there right now, if it's summer here."[/color]
If Sophia ever mentioned her hat-related problems, Matilda would suggest looking for a hat in the costume store.

 

[Zepherus14]

"That's great for you I guess, but I can't handle the heat that well." Sophia replied, looking at a sun hat at the moment with a bit of nostalgia in her eyes. "My body's just not made for living in really hot places, don't even get me started on that desert we had to deal with, it wasn't fun."

"What do you think of this hat Victoria? Looks nice?" She asked as she raised up the sun hat to her.

Victoria looked the hat over for a moment or two before replying with,

"Yeah, that looks pretty good. I could cut some holes in that of you need me to."

 

[ShindoL Shill]

[color=006d5b]"Being here must be pretty bad for you, then."[/color] Matilda said.

 

[Zepherus14]

"I'll try it like this first for a while, if not I'll ask. You can cut holes in it easy enough but it's hard to put them back on after right?" Sophia said to Victoria before trying the hat on her. It was definitely a bit big for her, but seemed to give her ears the space she was looking for. Sophia then looked in the mirror herself, an air of nostalgia still on her face as she wear the hat.

"It's reasonable, I'll see how it goes in the mid day. Right now as long as I'm not in direct sunlight for long periods I think I should be fine, but ya, not being able to sweat is really making some of these hotter places pretty unreasonable. But I've been through worse, so you gotta do what you gotta do, right Matilda?"

 

[Drakmorg]

"True enough."

Victoria replied to Sophia with a shrug. Being boring, she had nothing else to add or talk about, so she just quietly stood by.

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"Hey there Samus. I'm only looking for goggles for Winona. She needs a new pair."

EMily and Winona entered the costume shop, taking in their surroundings.
