We Are Our Avatars IX: Act V: The Sabotage of the Scandolous Saurian Scoundrels (Open)

"But don't costume stores these days have costumes on display or on racks like a clothing store? I didn't expect them to be found in these... disc cases. If that's where they're found."

<color=green>"Name's Winona. And my blue sister is Emily."

The two followed her.

Hearing Emily's suggestion, Lotte couldn't help but start snickering, trying to stifle a full blown laugh. "Oh wow, a good costume maker, and a joke maker, too? No costumes would hev never gotten this popular and widespred if they wer all laying around No, no. Having them contained like this is way beeter." She waved her hand dismissively, stopping at the first main isle section on their tour. "Anyways, now here is the new release section, there newly released costumed within the passed copple of weeks are stored, They're normally arrenged in orders like full-body, parts, and themes and súch. Prétty sure one of mine..." She said as she waved her arms like a showgirl, then turning as she looked to the isle, a couple different displays appearing for her as she searched, eventually pulling out one patch. "Ah! Here it is! Give it a try, just stick out your hand Winona." Lotte said as she offered as she reached out her arm with the patch to Winona.

Seras walked over to where EMily and Winona were about to get their demonstration, as she was very confused about how this place was supposed to work.

Winona touched the patch, awaiting the secrets this costume shop hid.

Winona simply touching the patch would do nothing, but when Lotte turned her hand over and pressed the patch to the back of her palm was when something happened. Like the drop of a pin, it felt like Winona's hand had been placed in a bowl of warm water, the warm feeling traveling up her arm as it started to change. She'd feel an odd mix of her body being covered by a thin layer of something, and yet nothing was blatantly appearing. One of the most striking of the changes however was an increase in height, the patch seemingly able to alter her height, making her about five inches taller than EMily, yet this didn't affect her balance at all. Fortunately for her, her clothing seemed to be affected by this apparent change as they were altered slightly to accommodate her new found height. The last thing Winona would notice on her own was her ears had gotten longer, much longer, even a bit fuzzy. If she reached up to them, she'd find they had grown into long rabbit ears that pointed straight up, and had a colour similar to her own hair colour. Without a mirror, Winona wouldn't notice anymore changes until she started speaking.

EMily would however notice one more significant change, Winona, was looking quite a bit more tomboyish than Gwen could ever match. If not for the maid dress, EMily could have easily mistaken Winona for a fairly handsome guy, feminine maybe, but definitely a guy. If Winona said anything she'd be greeted with a much deeper voice than she was used to, although still carrying her usual quiet tone. The main reason Winona wouldn't have noticed such a drastic change was mostly due to the changes being cosmetic in nature, she was still a female underneath her maid outfit.

"Man, you really model that costume well!" Lotte announced with a big smile, looking quite proud of herself and her workmanship. The patch was still stuck to Winona's hand, and if she pulled it off once the changes were done, she'd revert back to normal.

Seras was clearly pretty amazed by what the patch did. "That is impressive." she said.

 

[Slenn]

"I think impressive is an understatement."

<color=green>"Uh... OH!" She exclaimed as she realized her voice had changed. But her mannerisms stayed the same as she blushed.<color=green>"Thank you for the compliment, but could I take the patch off to go back? I mean, this is... well, my sister already said it for me. But do you have anything more... my size? And... my gender? With all due respect I like to keep measurements."

"It's good work. But this world has never had this technology before, to be quite frank. Like I said, this is really new for this world. In fact, I'd say it's far ahead of its time. What world is this place from?"

Lotte looked passed Winona and EMily as Seras added her two cents, a puzzled look on her face before responding. "Oh, you are with Winona and EMily? I guess you found a cloth cocoon costume? Didn't realize they still had those around ektually." She asked before looking back to the duo.

"Oh no, you're definitly stúck like that from now on..." Lotte initially said, sounding quite genuine about it, and only holding her composure long enough to get a momentary reaction out of the two. "Júst kidding. No, especially in the store, júst removing the pátch is more than enough to change back to your normal self. Don't wurry. I júst offered this since you seemed so interested in some of my wúrk." She reassured Winona, helping her out by removing the patch for her. Winona would feel much the same way she'd felt as the costume had been put on, although in reverse, the warm feeling ending as it came to her back palm. Once she'd put the patch back she looked back to EMily, a skeptical look on her face again, seeming to think EMily was trying to pull her leg. "New? EMily, you really have been living únder a rock the passed while, haven't you? Regardless, I'll homour you. This is Urth, you know? ...Eeeearth?" When she said 'Earth' the second time, she circled her two index fingers like she was circling the globe.

 

[Slenn]

"Yes, and I'm from Earth as well, from an alternate timeline. My only explanation for your presence here is that your shop has been showing up much like the automail shop we found on the British Isles. Both are from parallel worlds or Earths. That or you've been here always and someone's been researching the perfect costume in secret and now they've popped up out of nowhere."

<color=green>"Well, as long as I get to keep this shape, I have no qualms. But EMily's right. This place isn't normal for this particular Earth."

"But, regardless, what else do you have? Are these costumes organized in some way? We might as well get something from here seeing your good work." She nodded in approval.

 

[Zepherus14]

Lotte put her finger to her lip as she looked quite puzzled at EMily, the woman definitely trying her hardest to pull the wool over her eyes with this. "Automail...? Perrallel worlds...? Right..." She eventually shrugged, looking to Winona smiling pleasantly. "I'll see what I can think of then for you, Winona. Rehardless, I don't think there'll be anything in the new releases here from me, so léts júst move on." She announced as she strolled down the isle, before lazily pointing to the center section of the store. "So as you probably noticed already, the center is were all the odds and ends are, it's also where different themed costumes her holidays, party events, or everyday use are." She rhymed off before stopping at another section at the perimeter. "Here is the X to Y séktion. Once that rabbit guy costume you wore is finished in the new releases, it should go here. Different genders, races, species, it's all pretty múch here. Well... cosmètically, at least." She informed them, allowing them to ask any questions they might have, glancing to the left of her where they would continue walking after.

 

[Slenn]

"Well, you'd believe me if you saw the rest of our group."

<color=green>"Well, what do you recommend that's my size? Or EMily's size? My favorite costume for Halloween when I was a kid was a witch with a big pointy hat, a pinafore, striped stockings, and black dress"

After however much time they'd spent shopping, Matilda would have picked up a few dresses, which would be black, white or red to make it easier for Sophia to judge how they look, as well as some shirts and jeans, in a similar colour scheme. Matilda would also get a one-piece swimsuit, and would suggest Sophia get a swimsuit of some kind, too.

"If you say so, EMily. I was going to gráb a páck of random 10 and then head out of here, so I don't think I'll have time to wait to see all your other group members." Lotte answered back to EMily, feeling like Winona was really the only one interested in the tour. As she listened to Winona she took a moment to look behind then again to Seras, wondering why she hadn't said anything else, but figuring she must have been shy or something. "I don't think you quite únderstand how these wurk; it's a "one size fits all" deal. You find a costume you want, you don't have to look for something that'll fit. Although I'd recommend reading the instructions on them about what to do with additional clothing. There's witch costumes like that if you want though?" She answered back to Winona when she was done.

Although a bit tiring given her normal disinterest in clothing shopping, Sophia managed to have an okay time helping out Matilda. When it was suggested of her to get a swimsuit herself, Sophia clammed up for a moment, staring at the different suits in front of the two. After a short brainstorm, her eyebrows raised as she got an idea. "I, guess I should... shouldn't I?" She answered back as she looked at the different varieties, audibly moving them along the racks. "But I can't fit my tail into any of these. Maybe I'll just stick my feet in the water or something like that!" She suggested.

 

[Slenn]

"Was never forcing you." She shrugged.

<color=green>"But that's what I mean. Is there a way to keep it from making me grow taller or shorter? Emily, don't you want to get something?" She smiled.
A particular thought entered EMily's mind. She started to blush as her eyes darted around the store.
"Uhhh.... ummm. I don't know."
<color=green>"Oh come on! I see the way you're eyeing around." She smiled brightly. <color=green>"You're wanting to get a princess costume for you and Sara! That was your and Sara's costume when I went out as a witch that year."
EMily looked defeated and hung her head and arms down. "I guess there's no hiding it. I do like poofy dresses after all." She got herself back up. "Where are the princess costumes?"

<color=purple>"Samus, I think I found a pair of goggles. What have you found?"

Samus having looked around the store for a while, came up to Gwen with a couple of items. Some sunscreen, green mirrored sunglasses, a pair of sandals, a plastic looking blue crop top/short shorts combo with matching boots, and a blue two-piece bikini.

[color=006d5b]"Oh, yeah. Hmm... maybe a bikini would fit your tail. You might have to wear it a little low, depending on where your tail actually is."[/color] Matilda replied. Having already used her spiritual senses on Sophia, Matilda was able to pick up on a faint amount of guilt, and some dishonesty behind what Sophia was saying. [color=006d5b]"Can you actually swim?"[/color] Matilda asked, after a moment.

<color=purple>"Oh. You got some swimwear." Gwen started to snicker a bit.

"Why are you laughing?" Samus asked uncomprehendingly.

 

[Zepherus14]

"W-What? Of course I can! kind of..." Sophia bumbled as she tried to compose herself after Matilda saw right through her. Regardless, the sudden whiff of chocolate was more than enough to confirm Matilda's suspicions, even if she couldn't see the small amount of blush hidden under her mask. "How did you know about that?" She hissed underneath her breath, trying not to be overheard.

Lotte simply watched as the conversation unfolded in front of her, raising an eyebrow as EMily blushed before grinning wildly as Winona spilled the beans. "Well isn't that cute~ Princess EMily~" She cued mischieviously, before looking more into the center of the store. "Alright, let me show you where to look then, your Majesty." She told them, leading them to the end of the isle which ended near the far corner of the building. The corner itself had a unmarked door to it, which they left alone as they rounded the corner. "Also this is where you should look to modify your costume if it isn't the right colour you want, or if something doesn't suit your fáncy, it's not perfect, but in a pinch it can get you a closer fit." She added before they went into the center section, pointing to a shelving section which was at the very back of the building, opposite of the door they had gone in. Lotte would then start looking around for what the two were looking for, the Masons would be able to look around to, labels would describe what themes were available in particular rows, and where certain things were. They'd be able to narrow down the look they wanted and there was even a magical display that would appear like a hologram to show what each patch contained within it, so they didn't have to try on every single one they noticed.
