<color=brown>"Alright then!"
Sara smiled as she took off as well.

-----
<color=green>"Superb! Are you ready to try to tread water now in deeper water?"

"U-Um... maybe? I-I don't know." Sophia answered back, a hint of confidence squeaking by the otherwise unease about going deeper into the ocean. Given the hazards of bringing someone out into deeper waters when they weren't comfortable to do so, or was in a panic, maybe having someone like Gwen on standby to pull Sophia out of the water would be a proactive idea to keep Sophia's mind at ease if things went bad.

Going completely unnoticed by everyone, Victoria stayed underwater for quite a significant time, adapting her body with her psionics so she didn't need to come up for breath at any given time. She spent the entire time sitting, legs crossed, with her eyes closed. She ritualistically let out a deep breath, simply performing the gesture as she had no need to actually do so.

<color=green>"Okay then. We can still try to do freestyle. Now then, combine the leg kicking with your arms as paddles like a waterwheel. Although I've never tried it with floaties on."

Sophia pictured what her arms moving like a waterwheel would entail, and it wasn't the most pretty. A sort of comical depiction of her arms rotating at a 90 degree angle at her elbows. "I, might be flexible, but my arms can't move like that." Sophia shuddered, letting go of Winona's arms. "I'm just going to try doing it myself for a bit, but um... thanks for helping me~" Sophia thanked Winona before she started to paddle like she had, but was now using her feet. She still didn't seem to want to put her face under the water, and she also would occasionally stop kicking so that she could check how deep the water was, but at least she wasn't failing as unbearably hard as before.

<color=green>"Extend your arms all the way out as if you're reaching forward. Then scoop the water as you pull your arms back. Remember that you're wanting to push against the water.

Sophia hearing Winona's instructions, Sophia slowly turned herself around in a wide circle. She then started to reach further out, but still did more of a doggy paddle style keeping her arms under her as it made sure to keep her head out of the water. "Like this?" She asked, having increased her efficiency more, but still looking rather goofy.

Winona clapped in amusement.

<color=green>"Good work! But alternate your hands when you're reaching. And be sure to reach farther outward.Keep practicing until you feel comfortable without the floaties."

Sophia continued to alternate her arms like she had been doing, not checking the ground quite as often as she seemed to be showing a bit more confidence. "I don't care how much progress I get these aren't coming off yet." Sophia answered back, liking the comfort of knowing that if something did go bad she had at least one safety net with her at all time. "But you know what, swimming isn't so bad." Sophia admitted, stopping swimming for a moment to check how deep she was, and finding that she was about to her chest now instead of her waist.

<color=green>"Well, you might be surprised. I'll swim with you at your pace." And Winona followed along Sophia.

Victoria stood back up and walked out of the ocean, then continued on and stopped outside the doorway to Dave's space-craft. She shut her eyes and breathed out deeply for a moment, after which all the water that clung to her body all quickly rolled off, leaving her completely dry. She left the others to their business outside and stepped into the space-ship.

So Winona and Sophia would swim in tandem for a while, Sophia's confidence in the water growing as she's often check fewer times to see if she could still reach the bottom. Depending on how often Winona would check to see how Sophia was doing, she might notice something glinting in the sun light near where Sophia's ear lobe would proportionally be if she'd been human. Regardless at one point, Sophia would try to test how deep the water was, realizing that she couldn't touch the bottom any more. They weren't far out, or even far from the rest of the group, but that bit of comfort that she'd had before was gone. "Winona, I-I can't touch any more!" Expressing her concern on the matter, being a bit absent minded that her floaties were still keeping her head firmly above the water.

"Don't worry. You're not going to start sinking." Matilda said to Sophia, floating next to her.

<color=green>"Matilda's right. You'll be fine. Just take deep breaths to calm down."

<color=green>"I don't mean to pry, but part of your head is glowing."

Sophia after a short bit of mild panic eventually took a couple deep breaths, moving her arms back and forth as she had been suggested earlier. With her not sinking instantly the second she couldn't touch the ground, Sophia was able to regain her calmed state. This she used to tilt her head upwards as she tried to see what Winona was talking about. "W-What do you mean my head's glowing?" She asked, not interpreting what Winona meant properly. This movement however would let Winona have another chance to spot the glint, more of a sparkle than a glow. It was small, and given the spot on her ears where they were, they might have been earrings.

<color=green>"There was something glowing in the sunlight around your ears like an earring. It looks like more of a sparkle now."

Given what Winona had said, Matilda tried to recall if she'd felt any piercings in Sophia's ears.
