Roland placed his hand on his holster, looking in the direction of the noise.

The group would hear the chattering and thumping get louder, until something jumped over a near by building. It landed in front of the group, cracking the pavement. It was a mech, tall with organic look legs. It reared up, shook its head, and... Mooed. The sheer ridiculousness of this would probably stun the group into not noticing the other mech that landed near it and the giant machine guns on both their heads swivelling and searching for targets, eventually settling on the group and opening fire, for cing the group to split. Samus jumped to one side, but a bullet hit her leg mid jump, causing her to fumble that landing.

Getting real tired of fighting armored opponents. I'm almost starting to miss the old days. Almost. I roll to the side a few times to get out of the line of fire. Very nimble, majestic even. At least I can still do that much. Armored or not, might as well shoot ONE and see what happens.
"What in the plooper-ficktel is that?" She said, lifting one eyebrow before diving out of the way of the bullets. About a few of them hit their shoulders, but puffy sleeves be damned. The fact that they're loose clothing actually helps soften the impact even more since the energy is being distributed throughout the bullet resistant cloth. Still it felt like a good punch to an unprotected shoulder.
"That smarts!" She said as she fired an EMP at Gekko One. She took cover behind a garbage bin and sent canceling signals to her pain receptors.
Gwen went to the other Gekko (Two) and made a torrential gravity field worth 4 g's that would attempt to push the head forward and the legs backward. Essentially trying to trip it.

Joel backed off a little, and waited until the Geckos' attention had turned to the others.

Roland drew his revolver and began shooting at the gun of the second Gekko as he ran for cover to the right. He was shot twice in his right arm right before crouching behind a car. He forced the pain out of his mind as he tried to reload with only one hand.
Tavish quickly fired a stickybomb beneath his feet and detonated it, launching himself straight on top of the second Gekko. He drew the Eyelander and turned it on as he flew, intending to land blade first on the machine.

"Fucking hell!"X 9 would find that though the head was heavily armoured, the legs were organic and vulnerable, and the bullets that has t them penetrated and sent out geysers of artificial blood and lactic acid. Emily's EMP dazed the beast, and the Sectoid and the sentry's fire pounded against the head.
Roland didn't get a great shot in, but Tavish leapt onto the head, spearing through it with the blade. He had to hold on as Gwen made the thing buck though, it struggling to keep its balance and firing both guns at her.

Sophia anxiously walked as she felt the giant steps, and once it finally jumped into sight, Sophia didn't wait for it to try and step on her, quickly running to one of the buildings in a panic. "They're like giant cow grasshoppers!" She cried loudly before finally getting behind a pillar to catch her breath.
Roland paused to see that his arm was barely even attached to his body after taking two powerful shots, so he pulled a strip of cloth out of his bag and attempted to tie it around his arm as a tourniquet.
Tavish was almost thrown off, but his grip on the Eyelander helped him keep his footing. He held on with one hand and attempted to use his free hand to attach stickybombs to the gekko.

Vicky angrily threw the rifle down against the ground. She closed her eyes for a moment and breathed in deeply, manifesting a membrane of psionic energy around her body. The membrane constantly rippled and distorted the view of her body from outside of it, making her actual position hard to determine. She crept out of the building and tried to quietly make her way to Gekko 1, skating across the ground to reduce sound and improve her speed. Once there, she would draw one of her blades and attempt to climb up the Gekko's leg as she had done previously, by stabbing it with her blade and claws like they were climbing equipment.
Easily spotting the flaming building in the darkness of night, the bug lifted its right wing, banking to the left and descending as it went. Partially because it didn't want to land on the street with people trying to extinguish the fire, and largely because it assumed its mark would still be somewhere nearby to look at the building burn, the bug landed with a soft thud on the rooftop of the tallest building it could find.
Laying down its bag and taking out the Savage M10, the bug prowled closer to the edge of the rooftop, primarily looking around between buildings and on other rooftops.
