Seeing some of his companions making their way out of the building, Will decided to do the same. As they went to leave they came across a figure at the bottom of the steps. "You there! We're leaving, and I suggest you do the same!" he shouted as the crackling flames started to spread rapidly around them.

'Follow you, that's where we were heading anyway.' he thought, but figured there were more important things to worry about as he and the others followed out of the building.

Preginald, having been engrossed in his map, had hardly noticed the explosion until the smoke began obstructing his view of the map. "Oh for shit's sake, can't a man map out his plans for world domination in peace? I just get no respect around here, don't these people know who I am? I should probably get out of here before my map catches fire." Preginald summons a portal beneath him and drops through it, coming out at the entrance to the inn.

After the explosion Eragon had managed to make his way out of the crumbling building. He looked on at the inferno, perhaps this lot would be differant. His hooded visage surveyed the scene as the heroes recovered from the attack.

Joe looked through the smoke, "Man you could cut... through... [sub]this[/sub]..."

Joe drew a knife on the desk beside him, picked it up and started to cut the smoke. "Ya I must be dreaming..." Joe wakes up in the inn lobby, the smoke is billowing from the upper floors.

"Well that happened..." Joe walks to the entrance rubbing his eyes and yawning as the panicked people sprint passed him.

"I don't think any of us are injured. The fire was started by some kind of bomb." Will answered as he breathed in the clean air of the outside. "Joe, glade to see you made it out. Afraid you might die in the fire?"

Now was as good as time as any. Eragon emerged from his hiding place and walked towards the group. His hand never left his swords hilt. He stopped before the group but didn't say a word. He gazed at the group before turning swiftly away. It was too dangerous to distract the heroes when their enemy was upon them.

"Not now, later" he murmered as he walked away.

 

[Arrogancy]

"It was probably Joel." Alek announced, glad to see that seemingly everyone had survived. "It has all his trademarks: crazy, sloppy, and impulsive. And failed." Alek stopped, seeing someone new emerging. He was another one of them, that much was evident, this man wasn't from this world. Still, that wasn't to say Joel hadn't hired him. Alek drew his pistol on the man. "Would you please explain who you are?" Alek asked.

Will saw Alek draw his pistol on a stranger and demand to know who he was. He chuckled to himself and stepped between the two. "Now, now boy. There's no reason to be rude, but I think you should answer his question." he said resting his hand on his own revolver. But it seems the man wanted nothing to do with them and just walked away. "Strange." Will said as he watched him leave.

Alek looked the man over. The man could still be working for Joel, but it was worth hearing him out. "Fine then." Alek answered, lowering his weapon, "I am Alek. Who are the NCR Rangers?"

Will looked incredulously at Hunter. 'Saved? Where does this guy get off trying to pass himself off as a hero? But then again he did plunge into a burning building to help complete strangers. I can at least respect that.' he thought. "Easy friend. We've no reason to fight." he said as he took his hand away from his gun and reached it out to him. "I am General William T. Sherman."

 

[Arrogancy]

"I've already given my name," Alek responded defiantly, "What more do you need?" For a moment he attempted to make some sense of what this man in odd armor said, before just giving up. He doubted he would ever understand some of his allies. At least he wasn't some sort of beast-person, like many of the others.

"Well Hunter I'll be happy to have someone like you as an ally." Will said as he awkwardly put his hand down. "Old world? I feel like questions like that are better left unasked since it doesn't really matter."
