OOC: That's more focus on tactics though, technique is more focused on how someone moves and strikes in a fight. And if Dromaeus didn't utilize much of his technique in his fight, then how is Alek to know that he has much of one anyway? I don't believe they've ever fought together.
Seeing Dromaeus refuse his offer of help Eragon ended the spell that dulled both of their weapons before sheating his own weapon and walked over to the edge of the ring.

OOC: Fair point.Hmm, tactics, technique, its hard to say whether a Skyrim character has good technique. Maybe not. Tactics would be very important in a swordfight as well though.
"That sounds..." convoluted was the word that sprang first to mind, but Alek decided that a more diplomatic term was needed. "Intriguing. However, I feel that I wouldn't be much of an opponent to you. Perhaps you would care for a duel, General Sherman?" Alek asked.
Joe was impressed. Eragon and Dromaeus both displayed great swordsman skill. It was interesting how they attempted to find new openings to the other. Even if Dromaeus had lost, Joe was still felt he could congratulate him on his skills, but decided against it. If he watched enough of these fights he's be able to use a sword himself. Maybe even that sword the Joes were mentioning from that one movie 'Space Wars'... 'Star Battles'.
Eragon understood the aprehension that Alek felt. It had taken Eragon a long time indeed to cope with fighting enemies whose blood ran thick with magic. "Very well" he said, finishing his apple. "If you need me to dull your weapons just ask" He offered.

"That was very impressive." Will said, almost in awe. As he heard Alek offer his challenge he turned to him and smiled. "I think that's an excellent idea." Offering his sword to Eragon he said, "If you could do that...thing you do, that would be helpful."

Eragon took both the General's and Alek's weapon and sheathed them in the same dulling aura. "Gëuloth du knífr" He murmered before returning the weapon to their owners.
"Now then." Alek said, taking a position in the circle. He naturally dropped into his fencing stance. This was going to be an interesting fight, Alek thought, waiting for General Sherman to take his own position.

Joe was excited to have the opportunity to see a duel from the start. Unfortunately, he couldn't find any popcorn, so he needed to improvise. Joe walked over to one of the side walls, and drew a lazy-boy, popcorn and large 2L soda. He then pulled the drawing off the wall and moved it over to the ring.
"This is going to be good." He said.

Eragon stood out in the open and readied himself. He cast a ward over himself and carefully worded it so it wouldn't sap his strength too fast. He nodded at Hunter once he was sure nobody was in the way.
Stepping into the sparing circle, Will saw Alek fall into a fighting stance. "Well boy, you claim to be from a time far ahead of my own. Let's see if the training has improved any." he said. Raising his sword and entering a similar stance. "You may go first."
OOC: Not sure how good of a swordsman Will should be, but I'm going to assume he is well trained. So lets do this.
