Will knew a scared, confused, child when he saw one. "Put your guns down Merc." Will slowly approached the new comer. "Easy now boy, just settle down alright. No one wants to hurt you." he said in as soothing a voice as he could manage.
((OOC: I almost forgot, Takashi's speaking Japanese here. From now on I'll mark it as ))
Takashi looked at the man, somewhat confused as he was speaking English. "Anou... ?". He'd calmed down somewhat, realizing he wasn't in any immediate danger, but he was still in a room with people he didn't know and had no idea where he was.
The Merc cocked his gun. "How about this, every time we meet someone, we blindly trust them. He could be one of Joel's men. In Africa, they have children running around with AK-47s. This kid has a knife and a bat, covered in blood. Do you really want to risk it?"
The boy started speaking.
"Sukoshi. Anataha dare desu? "
Alek was somewhat surprised. The new man spoke Japanese. That was unexpected, oddly enough, everyone he had met so far had spoken English in some form or another. Japanese wasn't a language Alek was fluent in, but he had begun some study of it. "Very little." He replied, as best he could.
Will looked at Merc. "Yes." he said in a dead pan. Will stepped in front of the boy shielding him from Merc and Hunter. "I believe he's speaking Japanese. Does anyone understand him?" he asked.
Releasing the boy Eragon walked back over to the side of the room. His companions could deal with this boy...he knew what it was like to not be trusted. Before turning away he said "I am a rider and friend." With a smile he mirrored his statement in the ancient language so the boy could hear the truth of what he said. "Eka aí fricai un Shur'tugal"
