Jack Noir stood on the hillside. Stretched out on the plain below where two armys. One, bearing the local flag, the other, under another flag, and defending the great silver building on the horizen.

Eragon did not sleep. His waking dreams were the closest thing that came to sleep for him. When his trance broke he found he was still on the bus and it was till speeding towards their destination. How long would this take. He might as well continue his writing to occupy himself. He picked up his quill and parchment and began writing once more.
Joe saw many of the others trying to protect their minds from being read. However He had misunderstood Eragon, and started to think of as many things as he could. The mental noise that was produced was tremendous.
In terms of physical noise it was like having the biggest rock band concert ever, plus every sports match in history, plus every screaming baby currently in the world, plus all the planes, car, trucks, jeeps, and industrial equipment, plus a laundry list of other noisy thing including one rabid squirrel, ALL concentrated from one source. It was deafening.
{If you thought Joe's mind was muddled, just wait until he's trying =P)

Omega watched on as the battle for Preginald's base waged on, William was barking orders to the soldiers, adjusting positions and creating flanking opportunities.

Eragon's concentration was broken by a cascade of thoughts from Joe. "Joe stop!" He shouted mentally while throwing his own mental barriers up to block the onslaught. Now he envied those who couldn't use magic as they would have been unable to hear the mental racket.
"Ok... sorry" Joe stopped 'brain storming'. He wondered what was taking Preginald so long, normally it didn't take this long for him to travel to a new location. Joe shrugged, and started to review how he used the over-sized monster he had chosen.

Will was pleased at how the battle was progressing. These soldiers, while seemingly not very experienced or well trained, at least knew how to follow orders. As he looked at the hologram of the battlefield he saw something heading for the base at astonishing speed, cutting through the attacking force on its way. "What is that?" Will asked himself.
