An uncharacteristically large smile appeared on Will's face. "W-w-well I certainly wouldn't want to cause any unnecessary c-conflict. I just ask these questions to make sure you don't wast any of your own, very precious, time killing us, considering we are no threat to you. Joel Calley, however, is another story entirely. I'd say, and I'm sure my companions would agree..." he paused and gave each of them a look that said 'go along with it!' then continued by saying, "that he is the only one who posses any kind of threat to you." Will was almost done with his verbal gymnastics, he now only hoped he could stick the landing.
Joe was not really terrified as he was confused, interested, and well confused... He was more than used to starring death in the face. The man with the glasses was able to kill basically anything by just looking sideways at the target, but could never quite 'kill' Joe. Who was this creature, it seemed pretty intelligent, what's up with it

The Peregrine Mendicant looks upon the area outside Preginald's fortress, the ground awash with blood.

She flys forwards, then appears infront of Jack in a flash of green electricity, and tackles him. Jack shifts behind her, and goes for a horizontal slice, but the PM blocks it.

The situation changed in a flash. Instead of there being one horrible monster about to kill them, Alek considered, there were now two horrible monsters about to kill each other. It was an improvement, to say nothing else. Alek's eyes frantically darted along the room looking for the exit. He needed to leave, fast. There, it was across the room. Behind the beasts who were now tearing at each other. Well. So much for that plan.
Joe leaps back as another creature slams into the black one, stumbling and falling as he tries to land. "Holy CRAP!!"
"Uhhh...I don't..." Will really had no idea how to react to what had just happened. The only idea he had was to pull out his Colt and his saber, then swat at a bug in front of his face.
The bug lands next to Omega Joe, he looks at it as it continues to light up in a series of patterns."Um... THIS BUG IS FLASHING AT ME!" He yells to the other.
Alek looked at the bug. It seemed to be just another bug, however, there was something about it. He kept his eyes on it. The pattern of flashes repeated itself again and again. There was something familiar about it, he thought, what was it? The light kept flashing, suddenly, he heard a series of clicks that synchronized with the flashes. That was it, Alek knew. It was Morse code.

Joe was about to jump into the portal Omega had used to get them there in the first place, but PM and Jack slammed onto the surface ruining the design.
