OOC: It was alastair who shouted when will stepped through the portal. Sofia was awoken by his shout.

Alastair sat up and shouted "Arac nu!" Spiders crawled all over the trio that had jumped through the wall. Before the portal closed Alastair caught a glimpse of 2 fighting rivals, he stared slack jawed at the fight. "What happened?"

"That was horrifying." Alek said, as he made for a chair. "Whatever that was I don't want to encounter it again."

Realising Alek was now coherant enough to speak Eragon said "You should have alerted me if you were planning of confronting such a foe." Shuffling in his seat Eragon was slightly annoyed at not being able to break the boredom of this overly long journey with a bit of action.

Julia looked around. "Everyone leave your weapons on the bus, except you Merc. We're here."

"It wasn't of my own volition!" Alek shouted, "I was thrown through a portal and on the other side was a demon. If I knew that that was what awaited me, I wouldn't have gone." Alek pulled out his knife and began idly tossing it back and forth between his hands. He was nervous and edgy. If that monster came back, he wasn't certain what he would do, but he still wanted to be armed.

Julia dismounted the bus, followed by the Merc.

Eragon was puzzled at the request to leave his weapons on the bus. "I'm sorry I cannot leave my weapons behind but you have my word as a rider I shall not draw them without good reason." Switching to the ancient language he said "Vel eïnradhin iet ai Shur'tugal eka Eragon Shadeslayer vard pömnuria sverd fra vardr tuatha" He swore in the ancient language. "Upon my word as a rider I, Eragon Shadeslayer ward my sword for ill use." He self-translated.

Julia looked at Eragon. "That's lovely, but I doubt campus security will be pleased."

"Leave our weapons? That's not a terribly good idea, what if that thing comes here or someone or something else attacks us?" Takashi protested.

Truth was; if Takashi at least had his trench knives he'd probably fair much better in a fight than if he had to fight unarmed.

Alek unbuckled his sword and slipped his knife and pistol into his inner coat pockets. Whatever Julia wanted, he wasn't going unarmed. Not now. "Fine." He said as reluctant as he thought believable. Alek hopped off the bus and began to take a look around.

The Merc stopped Alek and said "You haven't got any metal on you, right? Because I doubt you want a pat-down and cavity search."

"Eragon's sverd waíse skoliro fra sven." muttered Eragon and his weapons dissapeared from sight. "That should be enough." He said leaving the bus after Julia. He began to follow.

"I have my buttons and my watch." Alek said, "Nothing else."

After hearing that they were going through campus security, Takashi nodded to himself. He realized that if something happened, he could always grab something for an improvised weapon. He also had his belt which he could use as a whip or restraining weapon. He began to disarm himself

The Merc followed Julia into the university.
"Julia Chase, Homeland Security. We need to speak with Professor Crowley."
"Of course, ma'am. If you head through security..."
"Thank you. If you send the rest of our party through. Just ask if they're with Ms Chase."

Eragon caught up with Julia and passed the man who she had spoken too. He anticipated his question and answered "yes I'm with Ms Chase." The man looked puzzled as he past at his foresight to his question. He walked briskly through and began to walk beside Julia and the Merc. He could sense the minds of all those within the campus...and those of the security personnel ahead.

Alek followed through. "I am as well," He said, close on the heels of Eragon.

"Okay Ma'am, just put any metal objects you have in the tray... okay. Through the metal detector... Right. Sir... Do you have a license fo- right. You're with the fed. Fine. And you have a license. Good. Metal in the tray." the security guard said, directing Julia and the Merc through the metal detector. "Metal in the tray." he said to Eragon and then Alek.

Eragon removed the small amount of metal items he kept loose upon him and placed them in the tray. He had gleaned from the mans mind that the contraption ahead of him would detect metal. Lets hope it couldn't detect brightsteel, the material his sword was forged of. Then he had an idea... he remembered his belt had some metal on it and removed it, his invisibe sword still attached and placed it on the tray. He then slipped into the mind of the man watching the computer screen and kept watch on the mans actions. He stepped forward after Julia and as expected the man at the screen saw the outline of his sword on the tray but ignored as Eragon had control of his mind. On the otherside he set about returning his belongings to his person and released his mental grip on the man at the monitor, leaving him slightly dazed. Buckling his belt he caught up with Julia.
