The sniper was quickly overwhelmed by the Shout and though he managed to rise, he staggered and fell through the empty window frame that he had already smashed to shoot through. Dromaeus watched him fall, then turned to Eragon.
"How many more?" he snarled. He heard a sound off to one side and whirled around. It was a faint buzzing, and it seemed to be coming from Joel-5's corpse. Going over to the body, keeping a wary eye out for more of the enemy, he retrieved the buzzing device but did not know what to do with it.

"I cannot tell amongst the innocent minds of the city, but more are coming." He stood and said "We should leave, get back to Preginald's bus and regroup." He saw the look in Dromaeus' eye. "We can't hold here, come." He knocked another arrow as he approached Foley was spaying bullets everywhere. He tapped the mans helmet and said "Time to go." He then began to make his way down to the ground floor.
He peered outside looking for any sign of the unknown assailants. A group began opening fire and Eragon ducked back into the police station letting an arrow loose as he did. One down. He shouted back to the others "Get down here! They're starting to box us in!."

The phone went to voicemail. "Pick up, one of you. Look, just wait for it to ring again and tap the green button. I want my damn victory speech!" Joel said before waiting and dialling again.
Dromaeus took the device that had now fallen silent and ran to assist Eragon. Crouching as he reached the bottom of the stairs, he began firing arrows out the front doors. The ebony bow was extraordinarily accurate even at that range, and every arrow he fired struck a man in the head or throat.

Joel growled and sent a text.

Inbetween firing arrows Eragon asked "Do you think this was Joel again?" Another group appeared to join the fight and Eragon cursed. "You go down the street and back to the bus I'll keep them distracted." and with that Eragon put is bow away and drew Brisingr in one elegant movement before leaping out the front door to confront the men.
"Eragon! That is madness!" Dromaeus snarled in frustration and moved out the door. As he went, he let a thought drift to the fore of his mind, blocking out everything else, trying to catch Eragon's attention silently.

Preginald was wandering around the city, having evaded the assailants and having forgotten where he parked the over-bus. He came upon a restaurant of particular interest, "Bubba Gump Shrimps". This particular restaurant was of interest because Preginald could see Joe gorging himself on seafood. Preginald entered the restaurant and greeted the hostess, "Hello madam, I believe that is my friend over there might I be seated with him."
The woman replied, "Um, I don't think I can do that. The manager said those two are probably gonna put us out of business by eating all that free food. He said we can't let anyone else try and mooch anymore free food by seating anyone else with them."
"Don't worry madam, I don't intend to eat anything, I just need to get my friend and leave."
"Well I guess that's fine then. Right this way sir."

Joel's car pulled up in front of a warehouse. "Thanks." Joel said, phoning again. He exited the car and shot the driver as he entered the warehouse. "Pick up, cunts."
Eragon heard the thought from Dromaeus. I can catch up, don't worry, whats the point of a distraction they can't see " A trio of men charged from cover. Quick as a flash Eragon had hewn one in half, decapitated another and stabbed the other. The three corpses hit the floor at the same time. All the while Eragon was spreading his conciousness out to all the nearby assailants while fighting of the one who would charge him.
Dromaeus moved past Eragon, who was surviving for now. He crept into the main group of mercenaries, who were waiting for their companions to fall so they could get a shot at Eragon. Suddenly Dromaeus was up, laying around him with his sword and dagger, cutting several men down like wheat in the confined space. Panicked shouts rose, and the survivors turned around to train their weapons on Dromaeus, but as quickly as the attack started it came to an end and he disappeared again. They frantically kicked at the clearing, trying to root him out, only to whirl again when a man on their flank was struck between the shoulder blades with an orcish arrow.
A police officer picked up the phone. "A 'Joel Calley' is phoning one of you." he announced, shooting at the attackers.
With Dromaeus near him now Eragon kept slicing through the attackers, his wards using less energy as he had worded them to nudge the bullets slightly off course. He had his mind connected to all the nearby attackers. "Its over." Standing still Eragon said "Deyja" and all of the attackers fell to the ground dead. Eragon swayed slightly before saying "Come, more will be on the way."

The police officer lowered his gun. "Can one of you answer the phone? This Joel guy is pretty persistent."
Dromaeus's jaw dropped in amazement as the remaining men fell as if struck down by invisible arrows. He reached out a hand to steady Eragon.
"How did you do that?" Eragon shook his head before saying
"Come, more will be on the way." They began to run for the bus, before being stopped by the officer. Dromaeus stepped forward cautiously at the officer's request, and took the device.

The officer answered the phone and roughly stuffed it into Dromaeus' hand. "Talk to him." he growled.
"Hey, Ozzy! How's the wife and kids? Oh right, you died... Sorry, I thought I was phoning bin Laden, because I couldn't get through! Anyway, I'm texting you an address. Go there unless you want to die! Anything you want to say?"
