"" Takashi said and threw himself through the portal. Unfortunately, he didn't anticipate a slightly high drop, causing him to land on his back again. He got up quickly and began to move towards where he heard a commotion.

There was a sort of assembly there, packed with various people, more than a few of them Takashi recognized from his school or around town in general. Among them were even Shizuka and Kohta, also from back in his world, making him wonder just how many people ended up in this world too.

Just as he expected, Rei and Hisashi were present. Suddenly the noise died as a man walked on stage and the room erupted into a light applause.

"Shido...!" Takashi gasped.

Shido bowed as he walked towards a podium, but stopped to lean over the stage and give Shizuka a kiss, further confusing Takashi. Shido began to speak.

"" The crowd shouted.

The crowd erupted into more cheers. By then Takashi had heard enough and suddenly burst into the room.

Eragon shook his head. He had been around too many assassins recently. At Shepard's rebuke Eragon said "One life to save the many." He was geniunely intrigued by where this conversation was going as it reminded him of his time spent debating with Oromis.

Will smiled at Thom (going to have to keep calling him that till he corrects Will) and said, "That's a very naive perception Thom. Those who study war gain an understanding of it. And those who understand war have a far better chance of winning."

OoC: Joe #45 had already pulled you in, but had waited cause Alek had trouble dealing with the 2D travel.

Joe #45 walked into the room, twisted so no one saw him, he walked over to the leader that was speaaking to everyone, and while everyone was looking at Takashi, he revealed his location to Takashi with a wave and a smile.

"As have I, soldier. In fact, I have literally given my life in the service of the Alliance, and of all life in the galaxy."

"So you can't die like me either?!" Joe finally walked up to Shepard with Travis following behind him. "You look important, have YOU seen a space ship around here?"

Mat snorted at that. "You want to lecture me about war? And my name is Mat, I thought I made that clear." It took everything he had not to start listing the rather lengthy collection of battles he had fought in. More than any hundred men could have even imagined. Battles on every scale, in every environment, on every side. "I understand war far better than either of you could imagine." Addressing the armored man who came back, "I know what that is, too. Duty is heavier than a mountain." That was something Lan had said once, and it was truer than he could know.

"That's war boy. I've said it once and I'll say it again. War is hell and you can not refine it." he said.

Eragon looked at Foley. The burdens the soldiers bear he thought. "I've fought in a war Foley and they aren't like the songs they sing in taverns...there is no glory only blood and sorrow."

"Yeah, the shuttlle over there is mine." Shepard said." "And I can die. I have died. It was something that I don't look forward to doing again. Fortunately I was recovered by a project that spent billions of dollars trying to recover me, so that I could lead the resistance against the greatest threat to life in the galaxy."

"That sounds expensive... I don't cost that much... actually my universe doesn't even have a concept of money... So Mr. The Space Lady! What is your name!" Joe looks at Shepard with an innocent smile.

 

[Arrogancy]

"Tia mi aven Moridin isande vadin" Mat said to Shepard. They shared that much in common. He had died. And he remembered dying in his memories. The scar at his throat began to ache a bit, Mat adjusted his scarf somewhat. "No one likes dying."

Shepard began to snap back at the belligerent man in the heavy armour, to tell him of the thousands of pods she had seen in the base of the Collectors that dissolved the bodies of colonists as they screamed for help, of the colleagues that she had seen die knowing that they had given their lives following her orders,of the times when she had seen friends fall in combat and been unable to save them. Instead, she held her anger back and responded curtly.
"Yes soldier, I'm sure your stories from the battlefield would reveal you as the better person among us." With that, she walked off to speak to Tali and Epsilon.
"Shepard." was her only reply to the stickman as she walked past him.

The tall blue alien made to follow her, pausing in front of Foley as he passed.

"You must have a seriously big mouth inside that helmet, and a poor judge of character to go with it." he said before continuing after the Commander.

The talk of war made Eragon even more miserable. He missed Saphira deeply. He punched the floor hard leaving a large indentation and walked away from the melancholy group. His hardened knuckles were not damaged when Eragon inspected them. He came to a stop apart from both the codenamed soldiers and the others. He drew Brisingr and began practicing, flowing from pose to pose, reposte to reposte. He needed something to stop him from felling so down.

Joe looked at Mat. "Well I'd agree when you're eating breakfast, and your face suddenly explodes into a million pieces, death can have it's disadvantages... it's hard to get your head chunks out of your cereal. But when you can't find a key to a death trap, coming back to life is really helpful..."

Everyone gives Joe a glance. "What..?"
