The soldier shrugged, then locked up the equipment storage again. Having done that, he lead Ness back to the mine shaft. Once inside, he stepped on the lift going down the shift, activating it one Ness got on also. Once the shaft had reached the bottom, the soldier lead Ness further into the mine shaft, eventually turning right. "Alright, this is as far as I go. You'll find the greatest amount of radiation going down this tunnel. It's a dead end, so don't worry about getting lost."

 

[Furioso]

Hearing and feeling the rumbling of the rock Rita was barely able to backstep out of Bryce's way as he burst from the ground. As he came out Rita held her book forward and opened it. From it what appeared to be at least 10 pages of the book flew out, but in actuality each was a powerful magical blade that stormed forward in a cone shape.

 

[DotSlash]

Ness nodded toward the soldier before taking out her PDA and moving in further, carefully to avoid tripping herself. "Alright, I'll have this place cleaned as soon as I can!"

Once the soldier went back, she'd pull out her PDA and begin scanning the area around her for radiation. The PDA's screen began flooding with zeroes and ones as it began to register the radiation's encoding into itself. Then I just suck the radiation in and delete it once the PDA gets full. Nice and easy... But first things first... I need that ball...

 

[Chungus]

When Bryce erupted from the ground, Loki moved away from the entrance of Nybeth's cave, to Bryce's side, but still a good distance away. Now in a position where he wouldn't risk hitting Rita, he pointed his scepter at Bryce, and from it, fired a bolt of blue energy that would explode upon contact. As he did, Loki lifted his own shroud. "Qaint you speak of abominations. Have you looked upon yourself recently, creature? For a more abysmal sight then you, I have rarely beheld." he remarked, placing disgusted emphasis on the word creature.

With Ness doing her thing, the soldier went back up the mine shaft, waiting by the exit.

Ness would find the greatest amounts of radiation at the end of the tunnel.

 

[Drakmorg]

Though the zombie's sluggish nature prevented them from avoiding the spikes being sent at them, the piercing damage they inflicted seemed to cause the zombies little in the way of actual harm, as they all immediately trained their guns on Bryce, despite the spikes that were lodged in their bodies. About three zombies were able to get an line of fire on Bryce that didn't risk hitting Rita and Loki, so they opened fire once again.

Jessica let out a shriek at Bryce suddenly emerging and ducked behind a nearby rock.

 

[DotSlash]

The PDA beeped as it finished. Ness smiled to herself before automating the thing to begin cleaning up the radiation as she went, it being sucked into her PDA as pixels and then becoming deleted data within the PDA itself. She made sure to stay diligent in her cleaning as she moved farther and farther down the shaft, looking around for the source of it all.

Well, I guess I've done my good deed for the day... and about a week or two afterward...

 

[FPSfanatic]

Bryce dived back into the ground the moment he missed Rita, his tail lopped off by her sword storm. He would have responded to Loki's taunt, but his ears currently weren't able to pick up the high pitch of Loki's words, turning it into a squealing noise, and his spear's shot simply impacted his tunnel exit and collapsed it, sending dirt trailing down to where he now sat. Detecting Jessica's movement, Bryce burrowed to her, and burst through the rock she hid behind to attempt to swallow her, his buzzsaw mouth stopping itself from moving to avoid shredding her.

 

[Furioso]

A cone shaped rock would burst from the ground in between Bryce and Jessica, directly in the path of Bryce's movements. Ordinarily lava would have erupted from the top of this particular cone, but Rita had capped it to avoid hurting Jessica. To Bryce it would look like an ordinary mound of rock, but going through it would cause him to be engulfed in a pool of lava.

 

[Chungus]

Loki grunted when Bryce dove underground again. Reaching for his pendant, he telepathically said to Rita and Jessica, Rita, the next to he burrows underground, create an earthquake above his entry point, and on either sound. That should be enough to desorientate it. Once this is done, we are to switch positions. He refrained from attacking, as he couldný do so without hitting Jessica.

Ness would a round indentation at the end of the tunnel, suggesting the source had been removed already.

 

[Drakmorg]

Hearing something smash through her cover, Jessica let out a high-pitched yelp. Out of reflex, she disappeared in a bright silver-colored flash of light.

Nybeth's zombies refocused their aim on Bryce when he reemerged, all of them opening fire from all angles since Jessica appeared to be free of the line of fire.

 

[DotSlash]

Ness raised an eyebrow as she noted the indentation in the hole. She looked around her for any clues as to what may have happened to it.

Unexpected... what could have gotten in here and taken it...? A worker...?

 

[FPSfanatic]

Bryce reburrowed, but not before being coated with bullets and Lava. the lava didn't do too much damage, as the form he had taken frequently dug through lava floes. The bullets however tore into him, and he focused his thoughts on what was needed. retreat, heal back up. Find allies. punish the bastard necromancers, and make sure it doesn't happen again. he dug back to where he had left, and pulled himself out, teleporting far from the area to avoid further tracking.

 

[Furioso]

Hearing Loki's command, Rita caused the ground beneath Bryce's entry point to shake as if there were an earthquake. We need to leave, and figure out if he can track us. communicated Rita to the group.

 

[Chungus]

"Indeed we should." Loki remarked, lifting the shrouds of subjects too. Walking back towards Nybeth's cave, Loki took three steps inside. "Nybeth, this location is private no longer. Pack up your equipment, we are leaving."

Ness would find pieces of rock directly beneath the identation, some of it being rough chucks, others appeared to be neatly cut.

 

[DotSlash]

Taking more note of the cleanly cut rock, Ness got down to begin moving the chunks of rock out of the way and trying to see what had happened. With her PDA still working, the radiation began to diminish around her.

 

[Drakmorg]

Jessica reappeared exactly where she had been sitting previously about two minutes after she had disappeared. Loki's shroud would dissipate immediately upon her reappearance. She blinked quickly a few times before hopping to her feet and starting to frantically look around.

"Very well. I require several minutes to do so however." Nybeth called to Loki from the main chamber. His voice was followed up by the sound of glass jars and bowls and other supplies being hastily gathered up.

 

[FPSfanatic]

Bryce morphed himself back to his human form, gritting as he felt the wounds transfer from the worm's body to his own. digging into a particularly deep hole, he yanked out a bullet to more easily facilitate healing.

 

[Furioso]

"Well I have everything I need already." said Rita before looking over at Jessica "Alright, who exactly was that?"

 

[Chungus]

"Very well then." Loki answered Nybeth from where he stood, then walked away from the entrance again, towards Jessica. "The danger has passed. For now. But as Rita said, we need to know if that... thing can track our location. You seemed to know this person, so, do you know the answer to this?"

Ness would find the edges of the cleanly cut stones were discoloured by heat, suggesting they were cut by a laser.

 

[Drakmorg]

Jessica yelped again when Rita spoke to her. She turned to face the girl, and, after making the assumption that the threat was gone due to her more relaxed demeanor, breathed a sigh of relief. She wiped some sweat off of her brow and answered, "Exactly? I don't really know. He's just some guy that started following me and some of my associates around. Apparently he does work for a massive trans-dimensional organization of some sort."
