Ness blinked a bit. [color=ff4599] "Hmmm... You're right... But what? I offered to help her not get mind controlled again but... well, that went how it went. With how stubborn she's being, I don't know if she'll even take the gift we try to give her. ...Maybe we should be preparing ourselves for the next fight regardless." [/color]

"In the worst case, it would prove to yield a death toll of only several thousands. But even if that is the case, it can then be used to swiftly ainihilate the enemy force in locations of less importantance." Loki remarked. Coming up to the gates of the palace, Loki met with Estella, who was accompanied by several guards, as he had instructed. "Is everything ready?"

Estella saluted Loki, the six guards with her doing the same shortly after. "No sir, not yet. But it will arive shortly." she answered, then looked towards Nybeth. "The sorcerer master Loki spoke of, I presume. I'm Lieutenant Lucis. How do you do." With that said, Estella and her guards turned around and began walking towards the docks. "The ETA of the ship is eighteen minutes. If you would follow me to the docks."
Loki did just that.

"We can just leave something close-by her and hope she accepts it. If she apparently hates us so much she won't even speak with us that's really all we can do." Jessica suggested to Ness. "I don't know what we could do to prepare though."
She lagged a little behind Ness and started rolling her pendant around and contacted Rita. "Look, I don't really care if you don't answer me or whatever, but I feel I need to say something...Sorry about that stuff I said the other night...I only really said it because I was concerned..."

"Whether or not that would serve to be true depends on how much mythril is used." Nybeth replied to Loki. Hearing Estella address him, he said to her, "Indeed I am. I am Nybeth, of House Obdilord. I fare well." He followed closely behind Loki and asked, "Of what consequence is that woman?"

 

[Chungus]

Estella and her entourage made their way to the docks, but Loki put some distance between himself and them when Nybeth spoke to him. "She is one of my more valluable assets in this land. She presides over matters of security while the other high ranking officers are occupied with the war. Through her, I have been controlling affairs in the capital before I had conquered it."

Ness spun around on her heels and stepped backward as Jess rubbed her pendant, noticing her falling behind. [color=ff4599] "If anything... I could just give her one of my spare nanosheets then. And... yeah, there's not much we can prepare for... I'm just feeling a little anxious is all." [/color]

She felt around in her hoodie pockets for her PDA before digistructing one covertly and producing it.

Nybeth briefly hummed in mild interest and replied, "I see." He then directed his attention solely to following after Estella, not caring to take in the scenery of the city much.

Jessica looked up and chuckled a little at Ness turning around and walking backwards. "Unless those nanosheet things are really expensive or something then it couldn't hurt to give her one, even if she doesn't use it. And yeah, I get that anxious feeling. Almost kinda sucks that there's nothing we can actually do to try and prepare, you know?"

Ness waved around the one she had. [color=ff4599] "They actually are rather expensive, but I had a spare made.. so we can hand this one to Rita and hopefully she'll at least put it on. ...I'd rather not fight her again, if I can help it. And yes... all we can really do is bide our time. The scarier part might be that this is the least guarded city in Legaia at the moment. " [/color]

After some more time, Rita had successfully lined various parts of her outfit with mythril shards. She started making notes in her book.

"Well having thought about it a little more, we could see about getting some assistance from Legaia....Maybe we should move to another city or something?" Jessica replied to Ness. Taking on a look of curiosity, she pointed at the nanosheet Ness was holding and asked, "So, just curious, can those things be taken off?" She sighed and let go of her pendant, having given up hearing a reply from Rita. Seems she really does hate us for what we said...can't say I blame her...

Ness put her hand to her chin as she continued to walk backward. [color=ff4599] "Yeah... I actually tried to enlist in the army in Granite Pass. We might be able to get you to enter along with me." [/color] Noting her pointing to the sheet, she nodded again. [color=ff4599] "I probably should've explained more, but yeah, you can. All you need to do is actually want to take it off. The nanos will recognize your brain wanting them off and allow themselves to detatch, otherwise, they'll be impossible to take off for security reasons." [/color]

To demonstrate, Ness reached to an exposed area of her chest and lifted off a small section of the nanosheet before pressing it back on.

After Estella and those following her reached the docks and made their way towards the section meant solely for military vessels, thirteen minutes would pass until the ship Loki requested arived. It was a relatively large warship, with several turrets on either side, and with with boths sides of the deck lined with devices that appeared to be missile launchers. Further on the deck, there were a variety of bombs meant to be dropped from airships, these were strabbed onto plontoons.

Estella and her guards boarded the ship once it extended its gangway, Loki following. "These are the various missiles at our disposal. The smallest version is commonly used against large armoured units and small enemy crafts, while the larger ones are often deployed again large enemy ships." Estella explained as she walked towards the portside of the deck, where several missiles laid on display, their size ranging from not being that much larger then a person, to being the size of a bus. Their warheads were exposed, revealing they were large crystals. "These crystals that you see here is what holds the charge. Usually, we charge them with elemental power, but they can be charged with any other kind of magical power."

Jessica nodded to Ness in acknowledgement and agreement of her suggestion. "That's good. It's nice to know for sure that this isn't a permanent thing. As for giving Rita one of those, hang on a sec." Jessica looked around and managed to find a fast food restaurant nearby. She headed inside, and shortly afterwards came out with some random food item she had ordered in a bag. "Can't hurt to bring another peace offering."

"Intriguing." Nybeth commented as he examined the missiles. "How exactly does the magic amplification process for these devices work? And how exactly are they propelled?"

Rita was meditating.

Ness nodded before walking into an alleyway and offering Jess her hand. [color=ff4599] "Alright, let's hope she doesn't try to smite us as soon as we appear. From what Tophat said last, she was in Rockbyrd... so I'll teleport us there." [/color]

Jessica nodded and took Ness' hand. "Let's try not to show up right next to her though. I don't think startling her is going to do us any favors in the 'not getting her pissed off' department."

Ness nodded before teleporting her and her friend to the edge of the crater in Rockbyrd. Seeing Rita meditating alone in the center, she cautiously made her way toward her.

Once everyone was on board, the warship set out, sailing towards the west. Earlier, a smaller vessel set out towards the north as a decoy in case Legaia was watching Shaintaio from their unknown base in the north.

"The magical energies stored in these kinds of crystals is greatly compressed, making it that much more volitile. Once the missile collides with something, it shatters, explosively releasing the enery contained therein. During this, the mythril housing serves to amplify it further. How mythril amplifies magical energies varies on what it is used for, but in this case, the mythril draws in ambient magical energies and combines this with the active one." Estella explained. "How they are propolled has to do with the runes you can see on the housing." She continued on to explain, pointing towards the runic symbols carved into the missile. "When activated, they interact with the runes within the launching mechanism. The two kinds of runes repel eachother, this forcing the missile out, effectively launching them. They are then kept in the air by wind magic, contained in crystals at the back of the projectile."

Jessica followed after Ness as she made her way towards Rita. She tried to make herself look nonthreatening, so she took off her eye-patch, thinking it made her look somewhat like a delinquent.

Nybeth intently listened to Estella's explanation of how the missile worked. "Fascinating..." He muttered to himself afterwards. "So to perform these tests, all I must do is cast my spell and direct the power at this crystal here?" He asked, pointing at the large exposed crystal with his walking stick.

Estella nodded. "Correct."

Loki too had been listening carefully to the explaination, as it strengthened his theory that it was posible to create an amplifier for the scepter to spread its power across a large area, rather then needing to touch people induvidually.
